The synchronization is obtained using the slave–master technique and the controller ensures that the states of the controlled chaotic slave system exponentially synchronize with the state of the master system. Numerical simulations are illustrate and verify the proposed method.
Part based models have been proved to be beneficial for person re-identification (Re-ID) in recent years. Existing models usually use fixed horizontal stripes or rely on human keypoints to get each ...part, which is not consistent with the human visual mechanism. In this paper, we propose a Self-Channel Attention Weighted Part model (SCAWP) for Re-ID. In SCAWP, we first learn a feature map from ResNet50 and use 1x1 convolution to reduce the dimension of this feature map, which could aggregate the channel information. Then, we learn the weight map of attention within each channel and multiply it with the feature map to get each part. Finally, each part is used for a special identification task to build the whole model. To verify the performance of SCAWP, we conduct experiment on three benchmark datasets, including CUHK03-NP, Market-1501 and DukeMTMC-ReID. SCAWP achieves rank-1/mAP accuracy of 70.4%/68.3%, 94.6%/86.4% and 87.6%/76.8% on three datasets respectively.
Corn straw incorporation in soil has been regarded as an environment-friendly approach for straw utilization. However, straw incorporation has been a challenge under a cold and dry climate due to ...slow decomposition. This field study was to use a novel approach to incorporate corn straw into the soil during the fall season with a plastic film cover in an effort to enhance the straw degradation, soil water use efficiency, and corn growth and yield. Two-year field experiments were conducted in northeast China to investigate the effects of four treatments on soil properties and corn growth: (1) straw incorporation with film cover, (2) straw incorporation only, (3) film cover only, and (4) control. Soils and corn plants were collected during the growing season and analyzed for soil temperature and moisture, straw degradation, corn biomass, grain yield, and water use efficiency. Results indicated that straw incorporation with film cover increased grain yield by 53% as compared to straw incorporation only and by 102% to control. The straw decomposition under film cover was 20% faster, significantly higher than that of the straw incorporation treatment. In all cases, soil water content before planting, corn water uptake, and corn water use efficiency under straw incorporation with film cover were significantly higher than straw incorporation and control. Surface film cover resulted in 10-day earlier corn tasseling in compared to treatments without film cover. This field study demonstrated that straw incorporation with film cover would enhance straw degradation in soil, improve soil properties, and increase corn yield and water use efficiency, which could be potentially used as a sustainable soil management practice in northeast China.
Optical pulling forces, which can pull objects in the source direction, have emerged as an intensively explored field in recent years. Conventionally, optical pulling forces exerted on objects can be ...achieved by tailoring the properties of an electromagnetic field, the surrounding environment, or the particles themselves. Recently, the idea of applying conventional lenses or prisms as photonic probes has been proposed to realize an optical pulling force. However, their sizes are far beyond the scope of optical manipulation. Here, we design a chiral metalens as the photonic probe to generate a robust optical pulling force. The induced pulling force exerted on the metalens, characterized by a broadband spectrum over 0.6 μm (from 1.517 to 2.117 μm) bandwidth, reached a maximum value of -83.76 pN/W. Moreover, under the illumination of incident light with different circular polarization states, the longitudinal optical force acting on the metalens showed a circular dichroism response. This means that the longitudinal optical force can be flexibly tuned from a pulling force to a pushing force by controlling the polarization of the incident light. This work could pave the way for a new advanced optical manipulation technique, with potential applications ranging from contactless wafer-scale fabrication to cell assembly and even course control for spacecraft.

V/μm after annealing processing. Room temperature photoluminescence spectrum from the sample annealed at 850
°C in almost pure oxygen atmosphere shows only UV emission and a blue shift while the visible light band is unobservable compared with those of the other two samples, indicating that the crystalline quality of the obtained zinc oxide nanosheet thin films is greatly improved through annealing treatment. This solution approach combined with annealing treatment can, therefore, be regarded as a convenient route to fabricate high-quality crystalline ZnO nanomaterials.
Orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) is quite sensitive to phase noise, Doppler spread, and frequency offset, which will destroy the orthogonal properties among OFDM subcarriers and ...cause intercarrier interference (ICI). Correlative coding can be used to suppress the ICI effectively without reducing spectral efficiency. In this paper, a comprehensive expression for the ICI power of OFDM systems with the correlative coding as a function of the correlation of phase noise, the correlation of channel, and the frequency offset is derived. We further develop the upper and lower bounds for the comprehensive expression. Compared with the exact ICI power, these bounds are easier to calculate and tight enough to provide useful insight.
AIM：To investigate the significance of the surgical approaches in the prognosis of hepatocellular carcinoma（HCC） located in the caudate lobe with a multivariate regression analysis using a Cox ...proportional hazard model.METHODS：Thirty-six patients with HCC underwent caudate lobectomy at a single tertiary referral center between January 1995 and June 2010.In this series,left-sided,right-sided and bilateral approaches were used.The outcomes of patients who underwent isolated caudate lobectomy or caudate lobectomy combined with an additional partial hepatectomy were compared.The survival curves of the isolated and combined resection groups were generated by the Kaplan-Meier method and compared by a log-rank test.RESULTS：Sixteen（44.4%） of 36 patients underwent isolated total or partial caudate lobectomy whereas 20（55.6%） received a total or partial caudate lobectomy combined with an additional partial hepatectomy.The median diameter of the tumor was 6.7 cm（range,2.1-15.8 cm）.Patients who underwent an isolated caudate lobectomy had significantly longer operative time（240 min vs 170 min）,longer length of hospital stay（18 d vs 13 d） and more blood loss（780 mL vs 270 mL） than patients who underwent a combined caudate lobectomy（P 〈 0.05）.There were no perioperative deaths in both groups of patients.The complication rate was higher in the patients who underwent an isolated caudate lobectomy than in those who underwent combined caudate lobectomy（31.3% vs 10.0%,P 〈 0.05）.The 1-,3-and 5-year disease-free survival rates for the isolated caudate lobectomy and the combined caudate lobectomy groups were 54.5%,6.5% and 0% and 85.8%,37.6% and 0%,respectively（P 〈 0.05）.The corresponding overall survival rates were 73.8%,18.5% and 0% and 93.1%,43.6% and 6.7%（P 〈 0.05）.CONCLUSION：The caudate lobectomy combined with an additional partial hepatectomy is preferred because this approach is technically less demanding and offers an adequate surgical margin.
Returning corn stalks to the field is an important and widely used soil management practice which is conducive to the sustainable development of agriculture. In this study, the effects of corn stalks ...and urea on N2O production in corn field soil were investigated through a 21-day incubation experiment. This study showed that increasing amounts of urea added to soil with a history of corn cultivation leads to increasing overall N2O emissions, by increasing both the intensity and the duration of emissions. Although N2O production was affected primarily by urea-derived NH4+-N and NO3−-N, its main source was native soil nitrogen, which accounted for 78.5 to 94.5% of N2O. Returning corn stalk residue to the field reduced the production of N2O, and the more urea was applied, the stronger the effect of corn residue on reducing N2O emissions. Combining the application of corn stalks and urea could reduce the concentration of NH4+-N and NO3−-N derived from urea, and then reduce the substrate required for N2O production in nitrification and denitrification processes. In addition, the combined application of corn stalks and urea could effectively inhibit the abundance of key N2O-producing genes AOA amoA, nirS and nirK.
