New sideband partners of the yrast bands built on the pi(h11/2)nu(h11/2) configuration were identified in 55Cs, 57La, and 61Pm N = 75 isotones of 134Pr. These bands form with 134Pr unique ...doublet-band systematics suggesting a common basis. Aplanar solutions of 3D tilted axis cranking calculations for triaxial shapes define left- and right-handed chiral systems out of the three angular momenta provided by the valence particles and the core rotation, which leads to spontaneous chiral symmetry breaking and the doublet bands. Small energy differences between the doublet bands suggest collective chiral vibrations.
The fusion-fission cross sections of the 4He+238U and 6He+238U systems have been measured, at Louvain-la-Neuve, for energies around and below the Coulomb barrier, using an array of Si detectors ...surrounding a UF4 target. The data taken with 4He are in good agreement with previous data and with the coupled channel fusion calculation performed with ECIS. The 6He data show a regular trend with a large enhancement below the barrier which is attributed to the halo structure of the 6He nucleus.

Exited states in $^{134}$Pr were populated in the fusion-evaporation reaction $^{119}$Sn($^{19}$F, 4n) $^{134}$Pr. Recoil distance Doppler-shift and Doppler-shift attenuation measurements using the ...Euroball spectrometer, in conjunction with the inner BGO ball and the Cologne plunger were performed at beam energies of 87MeV and 83MeV, respectively. The measured B(E2) values within the two chiral candidates bands are not identical while the corresponding B(M1) values have a similar behaviour within the experimental uncertainties.
We report the results from the first experiment to measure gyromagnetic factors of {micro}s isomers in neutron-rich nuclei produced by intermediate-energy projectile-fragmentation reactions. The Time ...Dependent Perturbed Angular Distribution (TDPAD) method was applied in combination with the heavy-ion-gamma correlation technique. The nuclides in the vicinity of {sup 68}Ni were produced and spin-oriented following the fragmentation of a {sup 76}Ge, 61.4 MeV/ u beam at GANIL. The results obtained, |g|({sup 69 m}Cu) = 0.225(25) and |g|({sup 67 m}Ni) = 0.125(6) provide another indication of the importance of proton excitation across the Z = 28 shell gap for the description of these states.
