Part of the heritage of f. Anzelmo Canjuga has recently been stored in the archives of the Capuchin Library in Osijek: the compositions for organs, written in the prison camp in Stara Gradiška (1947 ...– 1952). It is a fund of manuscript compositions for organs, which f. Anzelmo Canjuga wrote in the time of his imprisonment in Stara Gradiška. After his death in prison, his work was saved and undamaged thanks to priests B. Birt and Ð. Golubiæ. Later it was stored in the archives of the Capuchin Libraries in Osijek and Zagreb. These compositions, written in the prison camp 1947 – 1952 are very significant part of f. Anzelmo’s heritage in compositions. It consists of five music manuscript books, four of them carefully treasured in Osijek. Father Zvonko Pšak has been keeping them safe, and they are marked by the author himself under numbers 7, 8, 10 and 11. The manuscript music book number 11 was discovered later than the other three, in Zagreb, Dubrava, in the archives of the Croatian Capuchin Province of St. Leopold Mandić. F. Anzelmo’s opus from the prison camp impresses by its quantity and by the expertise of the priest, composer – from the Cantual, through autochthonous compositions for organs created in the spirit of Caecilian ideas, up to the best works of the opus: composition “Crkvena godina” (liturgical year) – four movements for organs (music manuscripts 8 – 10), “Missae” in A flat major (the end of 10 and 11) with no ending.

Radi se o skladbama Crkvena godina – 4 stavka za orgulje (u kajdankama od VIII. - X.) te o Missae u As-duru (kraj X. i XI. kajdanka), s tim da ovdje nedostaje završetak. Ova su logorska djela skladatelja svećenika o. Anzelma Canjuge svjedočanstvo teške borbe sakralne umjetnosti s ideologijom tadašnjeg vremena. U župnoj crkvi svetoga Mihaela Arkanđela u osječkoj Tvrđi otkrivena je fisharmonika (physharmonika) Peter Titz in Wien iz instrumentarija Ivana Nepomuka Hummela (Kaloča, 1820. – Budimpešta, 1896.). ...Od 1850. godine Hummel je djelovao u ž. c. sv. Mihaela Arkanđela kao zborovođa, orguljaš, skladatelj te iznad svega “kao virtuoz na physharmonici”. Svojim je djelovanjem značajno obogatio glazbeni život Tvrđe i Osijeka toga vremena. U tekstu se potom daje prikaz kako je nakon Domovinskog rata 2000. godine došlo do „otkrivanja“ tog povijesno iznimno vrijednog glazbala. Slijedi opis zatečenog stanja fisharmonike iz graditeljske radionice Peter Titz in Wien s obzirom na stanje njegove sačuvanosti u proteklih 200 godina. Nakon tog povijesnog dijela predstavljamo fisharmoniku kroz opise kućišta i mehanike, osobina izradbe (s obzirom na visoko graditeljsko umijeće tvornice Peter Titz in Wien) te preko prikaza dispozicije fisharmonike. Tekst završavamo apostrofiranjem vrijednosti otkrića fisharmonike Peter Titz in Wien u župnoj crkvi svetog Mihaela Arkanđela u Tvrđi. Naglašena je, također, nužnost njena restauriranja jer se radi o povijesno vrijednom glazbalu za kulturnu i crkvenu povjesnicu grada Osijeka.

Background: Trastuzumab significantly improves outcomes in early HER2-positive breast cancer, irrespectively of any prognostic or predictive factors. Unfortunately, about a quarter of patients ...receiving neoadjuvant trastuzumab experience disease recurrence, revealing the unquestionable need for further improvement of treatment outcomes. Summary: Adding HER2 blockade to adjuvant trastuzumab with pertuzumab and neratinib improves invasive disease-free survival (IDFS), particularly for those at highest risk of recurrence. A shift toward a neoadjuvant strategy for patients with a higher risk of recurrence could result in further treatment optimization. For patients without a pathological complete response (pCR) after the neoadjuvant part of the therapy, a switch to adjuvant trastuzumab emtansine significantly improves IDFS and distant recurrence-free survival and shows a trend towards improved overall survival (OS). On the other hand, for low-risk patients, chemotherapy deescalation should be strongly considered with the use of trastuzumab monotherapy as an anti-HER2 backbone. Key Messages: Neoadjuvant therapy should be offered for a significant proportion of HER2-positive early breast cancer patients with a higher risk of recurrence. Postneoadjuvant treatment should be tailored according to the initial stage of disease and the response to neoadjuvant treatment.
One of the limiting factors in organic farming is the scarcity of allowed fertilizers and chemicals for plant protection. Plant and compost extracts are a promising solution for fertilization because ...of their positive effect on plant growth and soil microbial activity. Nettle extract was already successfully applied to some vegetables. Not-aerated nettle extract, obtained from dry nettle leaves, was applied in experiments with green beans in a quantity of 1 L per pot at two-day intervals was studied. A three-factorial experimental design was applied with two soil types (brown-Calcic Gleysol and red-Eutric Cambisol), soil disinfection with dazomet or not, and irrigated with nettle extract or water. Nettle extract application increased all above-ground traits; plant height, leaf area, flower buds, shoot dry weight at flowering, pod length, pod diameter, and shoot dry weight at harvest by 49%, 66%, 43%, 36%, 11%, 9%, and 37%, respectively, the root length at harvest by 59%, total yield by 48%, soil respiration by 91% and 74% in two soil types, and alkaline phosphatase by 30%. Dehydrogenase activity was enhanced by nettle extract application on red soil, while nettle extract application had no effect on root nodulation. The nettle extract application benefits in green bean organic production were attributed to the nutrients and other components present in the extract and not to nitrogen fixation. The optimization of the dose of the extract and experiments in real conditions of green bean production would be the next step toward the implementation of nettle extract as an organic fertilizer.

Rising temperatures and pronounced drought are significantly affecting biodiversity worldwide and reducing yields and quality of Brassica crops. To elucidate the mechanisms of tolerance, 33 kale ...accessions (B. oleracea var. acephala) were evaluated for individual (osmotic and elevated temperature stress) and combined stress (osmotic + temperature). Using root growth, biomass and proline content as reliable markers, accessions were evaluated for stress responses. Four representatives were selected for further investigation (photosynthetic performance, biochemical markers, sugar content, specialized metabolites, transcription level of transcription factors NAC, HSF, DREB and expression of heat shock proteins HSP70 and HSP90): very sensitive (392), moderately sensitive (395), tolerant (404) and most tolerant (411). Accessions more tolerant to stress conditions were characterized by higher basal content of proline, total sugars, glucosinolates and higher transcription of NAC and DREB. Under all stress conditions, 392 was characterized by a significant decrease in biomass, root growth, photosynthesis performance, fructan content, especially under osmotic and combined stress, a significant increase in HSF transcription and HSP accumulation under temperature stress and a significant decrease in NAC transcription under all stresses. The most tolerant accession under all applied stresses, 411 showed the least changes in all analyzed parameters compared with the other accessions.
In recent years, the production and application of biochar as a soil amendment produced from pruning residues has gained attention worldwide. Since the effect of grapevine rootstock type on ...grapevine-pruning residues used as feedstock for biochar production had not yet been researched, the present research was performed. Two grapevine rootstocks, different in vigor, were selected, with the hypothesis that they would affect their chemical composition and, consequently, the composition of the produced biochar. In this work, grapevine-pruning residues of the indigenous variety “Istrian Malvasia” (Vitis vinifera L.) grafted on 420A and SO4 rootstocks were analyzed and used for biochar production under three peak temperature programs (400 °C, 500 °C, and 600 °C). Higher pyrolysis temperature decreased yield but increased EC, ash, and TC content, as well as the content of most of the studied elements. On the other hand, grapevine rootstock type affected biochar EC, ash content, and specific surface area. Results showed that a more vigorous rootstock affects the produced biochar qualities by enhancing the above-mentioned properties. The present research showed that biochar produced from grapevine-pruning residues, especially at 500 °C or 600 °C, could be a valuable tool for the valorization of this biomass as a soil amendment.
