Results of flood modelling for three cities located in different parts of Russia: (1) Veliky Ustyug at the Northern Dvina river (Europe); (2) Mezhdurechensk at the Tom river (Siberia); and (3) ...Blagoveschensk at the Amur river (Far East) are presented. The two-dimensional hydrodynamic model of flow in channels and on floodplain STREAM_2D on the basis of the numerical solution of two-dimensional Saint–Venant equations on a hybrid curvilinear quadrangular and rectangular mesh was used for the simulations. Verification of the model through a comparison of simulated inundated areas with outlines of flooded zones from satellite images for known hydrologic situations demonstrate close correspondence (relative errors of 7–12% in terms of the area for peaks of the analysed floods). Analyses of embankment influence of large-scale levees on the water flow demonstrate that, in some cases, water levels could rise by more than 1 m and the patterns of the flooding zones could significantly differ.
Background.
Acute mesenteric thrombosis (AMT) is a condition that develops with thrombosis in the vessels of the mesenteric pool, which causes hypoperfusion of the intestinal wall and leads to ...secondary inflammatory changes. Mortality in OMT is 80–85 %. Early diagnosis of OMT is difficult due to the lack of specific clinical signs and laboratory markers.
Objective.
To identify preoperative risk factors for adverse clinical outcomes in OMT.
Design and Methods
. A single-center retrospective observational cohort study included 47 patients diagnosed with OMT. The following patient data were analyzed: age, gender, body mass index (BMI), assessment of the patients’ condition according to the SOFA, APACHE II, EuroSCORE scales. Various laboratory parameters in the preoperative and postoperative periods were analyzed.
Results.
The incidence of oncological diseases and history of acute cerebrovascular accident (ACV) were significantly higher in the group of lethal outcomes of OMT than in the group of surviving patients. The correlation of higher serum levels of lactate, D-dimer, creatinine, leukocytosis and procalcitonin in the preoperative period with the development of an unfavorable clinical outcome was revealed.
Conclusion
. The main risk factors for the development of an unfavorable clinical outcome of mesenteric thrombosis in patients are the presence of malignant neoplasms, a history of stroke, a high level of mixed venous blood lactate, creatinine, D-dimers, procalcitonin, leukocytosis in the preoperative period.
An efficient procedure has been developed for the synthesis of alkoxybenzylidene derivatives of malononitrile dimer in water in the presence of nonionic surfactant (Triton X-100). Depending on the ...number and position of alkoxy groups, the products showed solid-state fluorescence with the emission maximum in the range λ 491–560 nm.
Reactions of methoxybenzaldehydes with cyanoacetamide in water in the presence of cocamidopropylamine oxide afforded 84–94% of 3-(methoxyphenyl)-2-cyanoacrylamide which showed solid-phase ...fluorescence with the emission maxima located at λ 421–469 nm.
Reactions of 4-amino-2-aryl-6-chloropyridine-3,5-dicarbonitriles with primary and secondary amines afforded 2-alkylamino-4-amino-6-arylpyridine-3,5-dicarbonitriles which showed solid-sate ...fluorescence in the violet or blue region with the emission maxima in the λ range 400–460 nm.
2-Aminoprop-1-ene-1,1,3-tricarbonitrile (malononitrile dimer) reacted with 1-arylpropane-1,2-diones in ethanol in the presence of piperidine to give new donor–acceptor chromophores, ...2-4-aryl-3-cyano-5-hydroxy-5-methyl-1

The new SPASCHARM experiment for systematic studies of polarization phenomena in strong interactions is under construction now at IHEP, Protvino. The technical beam runs for the experiment first ...stage are planned for the Fall 2016 and Spring 2017. At this stage, the polarization measurements will be carried out with unpolarized hadronic beams of various compositions (π±, K±, p, antiprotons), using the polarized target. The universal large acceptance experimental set-up is capable detecting and identification most charged and neutral particles and reconstructing a large number of resonances produced in beam interactions at polarized proton target, and later on at the second stage, in collisions of polarized proton and antiproton beams with fixed targets of various materials. The large acceptance and wide data acquisition bandwidth would provide the capabilities for simultaneous data accumulation for a number of physics analyses from the measurements of single-spin asymmetries in inclusive and exclusive reactions to reconstructions of final state hyperon polarizations and spin density matrix elements for vector mesons in a wide range of kinematic variables (pT, xF).
Reaction of 2-amino-4-arylbuta-1,3-diene-1,1,3-tricarbonitriles with sulfur in benzonitrile affords 4-amino-6-aryl-2-thio-1,2-dihydropyridine-3,5-dicarbonitriles. They also are synthesized by an ...authentic synthesis from 4-amino-6-aryl-2-bromopyridine-3,5-dicarbonitriles and sodium hydrosulfide.
•We present a comprehensive survey of the development of ceramic humidity sensors during 1997–2013 years.•We review operating principles, conduction mechanism, microstructure characteristics and ...numerous materials used for the ceramic humidity sensors.•We analyze state-of-the-art techniques for producing ceramic sensors.
We have reviewed the humidity sensors based on ceramic materials. We first discuss the operating principle of ceramic humidity sensors. This is followed by a section on the relationship between the conduction mechanism and microstructure characteristics of the sensing elements of ceramic humidity sensors. This part of the review is also focused on the methods for optimization of the microstructure of ceramic porous elements. The next section summarizes the information on the materials used for the ceramic humidity sensors fabrication and effect of dopants or hybrid compositions on the sensing ceramic-based materials. Then we analyze state-of-the-art techniques for producing ceramic sensors. The key research and technological challenges in the field are discussed at the end of the review. The review is based on 424 references published during from 1998–2013.
