In this paper, we present a general oligopolistic market equilibrium model in which each firm produces several commodities in a time interval. To this aim, we introduce tensor variational ...inequalities in Hilbert spaces which are a powerful tool to analyse the model. Indeed we characterize the equilibrium condition by means of a suitable time-dependent tensor variational inequality. In addition, we prove some existence and regularity results and a numerical scheme to compute the solution. Finally we provide a numerical example.
The decision to resort to living donor transplantation determines a particular condition characterized by a strong mental and emotional anguish, both for the patients and their families.
The purpose ...of the study was to correlate the relational dynamics between donor-recipient, donor/recipient couple with the health team, and the family support perceived by the couple with the quality of life 6 months before transplant and 12 months after transplant and compare the data between the 2 time points after participating in the psychotherapy program of counseling about behavioral change.
Twenty-seven donor and recipient pairs consented to participate. The quality of life was studied through the Complete Form Health Survey (SF-36). All subjects completed a questionnaire that investigated the 3 types of fundamental relationships (donor-recipient, donor/recipient with the health team, and family support perceived by the couple). All participants were involved in an 18-month psychotherapy program in the pre- and post-transplant phase.
The quality of the donor-recipient relationship significantly positively influences the subjective perception of psychophysical well-being before and after transplant. Post-transplant family support is crucial in ensuring a good perception of psychological and emotional health in donors and recipients. The relationship with the health team is important in ensuring a good perception of psychophysical health only in recipients after transplant.
This study suggests that patients should be assisted by a multidisciplinary health care team and receive continuous support from relatives during the post-transplant adaptation process. This facilitates the donor and recipient postoperative quality of life.

Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) have received great attention over the past decade for their high energy conversion efficiency, relatively easy fabrication process and low production cost. ...However, at present, some practical difficulties such as solvent evaporation, leakage of liquid electrolyte and sealing stability remain serious obstacles to their convenient application.
An innovative microfluidic DSSC housing system is here proposed. Sealing performances of such architecture were examined by dynamic fluidic tests and good sealing for pressure up to 50kPa and temperature of 80°C was obtained, avoiding leakages and bubble formation.
Current–voltage and impedance spectroscopy measurements were used to determine the photovoltaic performance of the cell. Results were compared to the ones obtained with DSSC prototypes assembled in our laboratory following a standard procedure, and higher efficiency values have been obtained.
The intercropping is a production system that aims to provide increased yield with less environmental impact, due to greater efficiency in the use of natural resources and inputs involved in the ...production process. An experiment was carried out to evaluate the agronomic viability of kale and New Zealand spinach intercropping as a function of the spinach transplanting time. (0, 14, 28, 42, 56, 70, 84 and 98 days after transplanting of the kale). The total yield (TY) and yield per harvest (YH) of the kale in intercropping did not differ from those obtained in monoculture. The spinach TY was influenced by the transplanting time, the earlier the transplanting, the higher the TY. The spinach YH was not influenced by the transplanting time, but rather by the cultivation system. In intercropping, the spinach YH was 13.5% lower than in monoculture. The intercropping was agronomically feasible, since the land use efficiency index, which was not influenced by the transplanting time, had an average value of 1.71, indicating that the intercropping produced 71% more kale and spinach than the same area in monoculture. Competitiveness coefficient, aggressiveness and yield loss values showed that kale is the dominating species and spinach is the dominated.
CYGNO is a project realising a cubic meter demonstrator to study the scalability of the performance of the optical approach for the readout of large-volume, GEM-equipped TPC. This is part of the ...CYGNUS proto-collaboration which aims at constructing a network of underground observatories for directional Dark Matter search. The combined use of high-granularity sCMOS and fast sensors for reading out the light produced in GEM channels during the multiplication processes was shown to allow on one hand to reconstruct 3D direction of the tracks, offering accurate energy measurements and sensitivity to the source directionality and, on the other hand, a high particle identification capability very useful to distinguish nuclear recoils. Results of the performed R&D and future steps toward a 30-100 cubic meter experiment will be presented.
Dengue is a major international public health concern and impacts one-third of the world’s population. No specific vaccine and treatment are available for this vector-borne disease. There are four ...similar but distinct serotypes of dengue viruses (DENV). Infection with one serotype affords life-long immunity to that serotype but only temporary partial immunity, or cross immunity (CI), to others. This increases the risk of developing lethal complications upon re-infection, mainly because of the effect of antibody-dependent enhancement (ADE). There have been multiple studies of the dynamic behavior created by the interplay of ADE and CI using mathematical models. However, models in the literature seldom capture the vector population, which we consider important because combating the mosquito vector is the only way to contain dengue transmission in the absence of vaccines. We therefore propose two differential-equation models of dengue fever (DF) with different levels of complexity and details. Our results support the need for ADE to explain the complexity of the epidemiological data.
► Comparison of three dengue fever models with systematically increasing complexity. ► Vector transmission quenches the frequency instability observed in host only models. ► Cross-strain immunity alone does not explain the observed dynamics of dengue fever. ► Significant levels of antibody dependent enhancement (ADE>2) are also required.
ABSTRACT The goal of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of diquat, both isolated and associated with copper sources (oxychloride and hydroxide) in controling the H. verticillata submerged ...macrophyte and the A. gracilis microalgae. For this purpose, 10.0 cm H. verticillata young branches and 300 mL of A. gracilis culture were used. The experiments were performed in laboratory and the tested diquat concentrations were: 0.1; 0.2; 0.4; 0.8; 1.2; and 1.8 mg L-1, either isolated or added with 1.0% copper oxychlorideand hydroxide, as well as a control sample. On day 3, 7, 11, 21 and 30 after application, phytotoxicity signs were evaluated and on day 60 after application, green and dry biomass production and plant length were measured. To obtain dry mass, plants remained in a greenhouse with forced air circulation at 65.0 oC, until constant weight. On day 1, 7, 15, 21, 30, 45 and 60 after application, the concentration of chlorophyll a in the water was assessed. The herbicide diquat used alone or in combination with sources copper oxychloride and hydroxide was effective in the control of H. verticillata and microalgae A. gracilis.
