Dies betrifft insbesondere die Beurteilungsgrundsätze für Wettbewerbsbeschränkungen durch Umweltabreden und die Berücksichtigungsfähigkeit pro-kompetitiver Umwelteffizienzen. Die Wettbewerbsbehörden stehen dabei im Sinne eines «more environmental approach» in der Verantwortung, die Voraussetzungen für eine Rechtssicherheit vermittelnde umweltkartellrechtliche Anwendungspraxis zu schaffen und damit die Transformation in eine grüne zukunftsfähige Wirtschaft proaktiv mitzugestalten.

La préservation de l'environnement constitue une responsabilité sociale critique pour la survie des générations actuelles et futures. Bien que l'accent soit mis sur les mesures étatiques, la participation des acteurs du marché soumis aux règles de la loi sur les cartels est également indispensable. La loi suisse sur les cartels permet de considérer les questions environnementales et peut fournir aux entreprises en Suisse des réponses concurrentielles aux défis environnementaux. Cela concerne notamment les principes d'évaluation des restrictions à la concurrence par des accords environnementaux et la prise en compte des rendements environnementaux dans une perspective pro-concurentielle. Dans le sens d'une « more environmental approach », les autorités de concurrence ont la responsabilité de mettre en œuvre un droit des cartels environnemental garantissant la sécurité juridique et de participer ainsi de manière proactive à la transition vers une économie verte et durable.

Abstract
Die Ausziehtragfähigkeit ist eine relevante Kenngröße für die Bemessung von Schrauben als Holzverbindungsmittel, sog. Holzschrauben. Diese wird, in Wechselwirkung mit den Holzeigenschaften, ...durch die Gewindegeometrie der Holzschraube beeinflusst. Bisherige Untersuchungen konnten die Einflüsse der Gewindeparameter auf die Ausziehtragfähigkeit noch nicht hinreichend ermitteln, um eine konstruktive Optimierung des Gewindes zu ermöglichen. In Versuchen mit Gewinde‐Testobjekten, welche gerade Gewindeflanken besitzen, konnte der Einfluss verschiedener Gewindeparameter auf die Tragfähigkeit ermittelt werden. Allerdings ist die Übertragbarkeit auf Holzschrauben bislang nicht untersucht worden. In diesem Beitrag wird die Untersuchung dieser Übertragbarkeit vorgestellt. Dazu wurden auf Basis der Ergebnisse zu den Gewinde‐Testobjekten zwei bezüglich der Ausziehtragfähigkeit optimierte Gewindegeometrien entworfen. Um die Übertragbarkeit der Ergebnisse zu prüfen, werden die Ausziehtragfähigkeiten von zwei Holzschraubenvarianten mit optimierten Gewindegeometrien, mit einer Referenzvariante sowie einer kommerziellen Holzschraube verglichen. Die zwei optimierten Holzschraubenvarianten weisen signifikant höhere Ausziehtragfähigkeiten gegenüber der Referenzvariante sowie der kommerziellen Schraubenvariante auf. Damit wird gezeigt, dass die Erkenntnisse der Gewinde‐Testobjekte übertragbar sind. Hersteller können diese daher zur Optimierung der Holzschraubengeometrie nutzen.
Abstract
Investigation of the withdrawal capacity of thread‐optimized wood screws
The withdrawal capacity is necessary for the design of screws for application in timber, so called wood screws. The withdrawal capacity is influenced by the thread geometry of the screw which interact with the wood properties. Prior investigations have not been able sufficiently determine the influence of the thread parameters on the withdrawal capacity to enable thread geometry optimization. In investigations with so‐called thread‐test‐objects with straight thread flanks, the influences of thread parameters were determined. However, the transferability of these results to wood screws is still unclear. Aim of this paper is to investigate this transferability. To do so, various thread geometries optimized for withdrawal capacity were designed. To test the transferability of the results, the withdrawal capacity of two screw variants with optimized thread geometries, a reference variant and a commercial wood screw is measured. The two optimized screw variants show significantly higher withdrawal capacities compared to the reference variant and the commercial screw variant. This demonstrates that the findings based on the thread‐test‐objects are transferable for the design of wood screws. Manufacturers can therefore use these to optimize the wood screw geometry.

Information is lacking on whether the CYP3A5 genotype affects the disposition and effects of midazolam during the long-term intensive care sedation of patients. This study was undertaken to estimate ...whether the CYP3A5 genotype can explain a relevant portion of pharmacokinetic interindividual variability.
We determined the CYP3A5 genotype in 71 Caucasian patients who underwent long-term sedation during intensive care treatment. We then assessed the relation between the genotype and both the plasma concentrations of midazolam and 1'-OH-midazolam in 645 plasma samples and the simultaneously estimated Ramsay sedation score, both of which were recorded during routine midazolam drug monitoring.
Eight patients had the CYP3A5*1/*3 genotype and 63 patients the CYP3A5*3/*3 genotype. The concentration-dose ratio C/D; plasma concentration of midazolam (ng/ml) divided by the rate of infusion (mg/h); expressed as the mean (95% confidence interval) was 87.4 (70.8, 108.9) for the *3/*3 patients and 79.0 (48.9, 129.0) for *1/*3 patients. The corresponding data for infusion rate (IR; in mg/h), Ramsay score (RS) and the ratio 1'-OH-midazolam concentration/midazolam concentration (ROH) for *3/*3 and *1/*3 patients were IR 7.4 (6.2, 8.6) vs. 11.4 (4.9, 17.9), RS 5.4 (5.2, 5.6) vs. 5.3 (4.2, 6.0) and ROH 0.11 (0.09, 0.13) vs. 0.17 (0.11, 0.26), respectively.
The CYP3A5*1/*3 genotype did not lead to an apparently lower midazolam concentration/dose ratio or Ramsay score values. As the present sedation procedure during intensive care therapy may be described as a physician closed-loop titration towards Ramsay scores of 4 +/- 1, our data do not indicate that prior determination of the genotype will result in better care or economic savings.

Sixty-six patients undergoing coronary artery bypass surgery.
Hemodynamic measurements by the dye dilution method using pulse dye densitometry were performed prior to skin incision and 3.3+/-1.4 h and 17+/-2.7 h after surgery. Based on conventional monitoring the therapeutic goals of hemodynamic therapy were achieved in all of the patients of this study. Despite a marked positive fluid balance which developed during surgery mean BVI decreased significantly after surgery while CBVI remained unchanged. Postoperative BVI deficits vs. preoperative values were observed in 78% of patients; these BVI deficits were profound in 29% of the cases. In contrast, 65% of the individual patients showed no or only minor postoperative changes in CBVI vs. preoperative values.
Changes in the intravascular volume compartments affected BVI to a greater extent than CBVI. Therefore measuring circulating in addition to central blood volume may be useful to ensure a normal circulating blood volume that can compensate for any change in the central vascular compartment.

Nevertheless, clinical practice shows that a considerable proportion of these ...patients will receive antifungal therapy (AT). β-(1→3)-D-glucan (BDG) and mannan are fungal biomarkers with high negative predictive values. We aimed to examine whether biomarker-guided discontinuation of AT can reduce the antifungal consumption. Therefore, we conducted a prospective, randomized intervention study between 1 April 2019 and 31 March 2020. All adult ICU patients with a newly started systemic AT but without fungal infection were eligible for inclusion. Enrolled patients were randomized into an intervention and a control group. In both groups, serum BDG and mannan were determined on days 1 and 2 of AT. If all measurements were negative, AT was discontinued in the intervention group. The primary endpoint was antifungal use. The study was terminated after 12 months. Until this time-point, 41 patients had been included. In the intervention group (
= 19), AT was stopped in only two patients because all others showed either positive BDG and/or mannan levels. One of these two patients developed candidemia and AT had to be restarted. There was no significant difference in the primary and secondary endpoints. In summary, the strategy of using two negative BDG and mannan levels to stop AT failed to reduce antifungal consumption in our cohort. Indeed, there will inevitably be patients with invasive candidiasis in whom necessary AT is discontinued. The optimal patient population, biomarker set, and termination criteria are critical to the success of biomarker-based termination strategies.
Mechanical design is the process of defining a mechanical system for a specific behavior. To support mechanical engineers in their tasks, research in studies on the design process is important. ...Currently there is a lack of meso-level studies on iterations in mechanical design research. We propose a documentation method for such studies. Target of the method is enable identification of iterations in mechanical design processes. Iterations occur regularly in design processes and can have an impact on project cost and quality. Therefore, they can be used to identify methodical need. We apply the method in three mechanical design projects and show its suitability for mechanical design process research.
There are many influencing factors on the vibration of technical systems. A model can be built to analyze the relationship between embodiment parameters and vibration. Looking at product models an ...overwhelming number of models exists to investigate the embodiment function relation. To support the product developer in designing the vibration of systems the following research question will be examined in this paper: What kind of models can be used to model the relation between embodiment and vibration with the aim to design a system with required vibrations? In order to influce vibrations, the excitation and the transmission of the vibrations can be influenced by the product developer. Therefore, this paper also adresses the following research question: Which models distinguish between embodiment paramters that excite vibrations and embodiment parameters that transmit vibrations? Based on a literature review relevant models for the investigation of the relation between embodiment parameters and vibrations were identified. The focus of the literature search was on models that have been published in the last ten years in the state of research. Categories for the evaluation and classification of the identified models were developed from the state of research on vibration analysis and models. The 15 identified models were evaluated and classified in a matrix using the developed categories. It is noticeable that, with one exception, in all models identified no distinction is made between parameters that cause vibrations and parameters that transmit vibrations. Also different frequency ranges are only considered in a part of the models. In summary, it can be said that there are models that map the relationship between embodiment parameters and vibrations. However, the investigation has shown that the models should be further developed in following research projects regarding the subdivision into excitation and transmission of vibrations and the consideration of different frequency ranges.
