The process e^{+}e^{-}→D_{s}^{*+}D_{s}^{*-} is studied with a semi-inclusive method using data samples at center-of-mass energies from threshold to 4.95 GeV collected with the BESIII detector ...operating at the Beijing Electron Positron Collider. The Born cross sections of the process are measured for the first time with high precision in this energy region. Two resonance structures are observed in the energy-dependent cross sections around 4.2 and 4.4 GeV. By fitting the cross sections with a coherent sum of three Breit-Wigner amplitudes and one phase-space amplitude, the two significant structures are assigned masses of (4186.8±8.7±30) and (4414.6±3.4±6.1) MeV/c^{2}, widths of (55±15±53) and (122.5±7.5±8.1) MeV, where the first errors are statistical and the second ones are systematic. The inclusion of a third Breit-Wigner amplitude is necessary to describe a structure around 4.79 GeV.
Using a low background data sample of 9.7×10^{5} J/ψ→γη^{'}, η^{'}→γπ^{+}π^{-} events, which are 2 orders of magnitude larger than those from the previous experiments, recorded with the BESIII ...detector at BEPCII, the decay dynamics of η^{'}→γπ^{+}π^{-} are studied with both model-dependent and model-independent approaches. The contributions of ω and the ρ(770)-ω interference are observed for the first time in the decays η^{'}→γπ^{+}π^{-} in both approaches. Additionally, a contribution from the box anomaly or the ρ(1450) resonance is required in the model-dependent approach, while the process specific part of the decay amplitude is determined in the model-independent approach.
The aim was to analyse the overall and sex-specific associations between cannabis use and physical activity and sedentary behaviour.
Cross-sectional analyses from the National Health and Nutrition ...Examination Survey (NHANES).
Data on cannabis use and leisure time physical activity and sedentary behaviour from NHANES cycles 2007–2008 to 2015–2016 were analysed. Multivariable regression models were carried out.
About 15,822 participants were analysed (mean age ± standard error = 37.5 ± 0.19 years, range 20–59 years). Significantly higher odds were found for being active and ever used cannabis in the overall sample (odds ratio OR = 1.2, 95% confidence interval CI: 1.1–1.4) and in males (OR = 1.3, 95% CI: 1.1 to 1.5) and females (OR = 1.2, 95% CI: 1.0–1.4), respectively. In respective of sedentary behaviour, ever used cannabis was associated with higher odds of TV viewing ≥2 h/day in the overall sample (OR = 1.2, 95% CI: 1.0–1.4). However, this association was observed in males only (OR = 1.3, 95% CI: 1.1–1.6). Ever used cannabis was associated with total sitting time (beta-coefficient = 0.3, 95%CI: 0.1–0.4), which was more evident in females (beta-coefficient = 0.4, 95% CI: 0.1–0.6).
Cannabis consumption was associated with higher levels of physical activity and sitting time. When intervening to reduce cannabis consumption in the US populations, it may be appropriate to promote physical activity and ensure physical activity is maintained once cannabis consumption is stopped.
BackgroundThis study summarizes the clinical features of stroke in patients with prosthetic valve endocarditis (PVE) in China.MethodsThe clinical data of PVE patients admitted to Beijing Anzhen ...Hospital from January 1997 to August 2018 were retrospectively analyzed.ResultsIn total, 62 patients with PVE were enrolled (45 males, 17 females). The patients’ age ranged from 23 to 79 years (51.69 ± 15.01). Rheumatic heart disease (RHD) was the most common reason for valve replacement. Of the patients, 58 were found to have vegetations by echocardiography. Blood cultures revealed the most common pathogens to be Staphylococcus (12 cases) and fungal infections (n = 7); 18 (29.03%) patients had strokes. There were 12 cases of ischemic stroke, three cases of cerebral hemorrhage, one case of subarachnoid hemorrhage, and two cases of unclear etiology. The most commonly found clinical symptoms of stroke patients were hemiplegia (n = 10) and coma (n = 5). The five patients in coma died during hospitalization. The incidence of RHD, double valve replacement, atrial fibrillation, and mitral valve vegetation was significantly higher in the stroke group than in the non-stroke group (p = 0.045, 0.000, 0.033, and 0.045, respectively). Logistic regression analysis showed that the odds ratios (ORs) for RHD, double valve replacement, and fungal infection as risk factors of stroke were 7.26 (95% CI: 1.23–42.68), 25.60 (95%CI: 4.33–126.16), and 20.58 (95% CI: 2.13–198.82), respectively, and were statistically significant. Eight patients died during hospitalization and the in-hospital mortality was 12.90%. The OR for in-hospital mortality with concurrent stroke was 5.13 (95% CI: 1.08–24.46, p = 0.028).ConclusionStroke is a common complication in PVE that increases patient mortality. Rheumatic heart disease, double valve replacement, and fungal infection may be risk factors for patients with PVE complicated by stroke.

The cross sections of e^{+}e^{-}→π^{+}π^{-}h_{c} at center-of-mass energies from 3.896 to 4.600 GeV are measured using data samples collected with the BESIII detector operating at the Beijing ...Electron Positron Collider. The cross sections are found to be of the same order of magnitude as those of e^{+}e^{-}→π^{+}π^{-}J/ψ and e^{+}e^{-}→π^{+}π^{-}ψ(2S), but the line shape is inconsistent with the Y states observed in the latter two modes. Two structures are observed in the e^{+}e^{-}→π^{+}π^{-}h_{c} cross sections around 4.22 and 4.39 GeV/c^{2}, which we call Y(4220) and Y(4390), respectively. A fit with a coherent sum of two Breit-Wigner functions results in a mass of (4218.4_{-4.5}^{+5.5}±0.9) MeV/c^{2} and a width of (66.0_{-8.3}^{+12.3}±0.4) MeV for the Y(4220), and a mass of (4391.5_{-6.8}^{+6.3}±1.0) MeV/c^{2} and a width of (139.5_{-20.6}^{+16.2}±0.6) MeV for the Y(4390), where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second ones systematic. The statistical significance of Y(4220) and Y(4390) is 10σ over one structure assumption.
The spin and parity of the Z_{c}(3900)^{±} state are determined to be J^{P}=1^{+} with a statistical significance larger than 7σ over other quantum numbers in a partial wave analysis of the process ...e^{+}e^{-}→π^{+}π^{-}J/ψ. We use a data sample of 1.92 fb^{-1} accumulated at sqrts=4.23 and 4.26 GeV with the BESIII experiment. When parametrizing the Z_{c}(3900)^{±} with a Flatté-like formula, we determine its pole mass M_{pole}=(3881.2±4.2_{stat}±52.7_{syst}) MeV/c^{2} and pole width Γ_{pole}=(51.8±4.6_{stat}±36.0_{syst}) MeV. We also measure cross sections for the process e^{+}e^{-}→Z_{c}(3900)^{+}π^{-}+c.c.→J/ψπ^{+}π^{-} and determine an upper limit at the 90% confidence level for the process e^{+}e^{-}→Z_{c}(4020)^{+}π^{-}+c.c.→J/ψπ^{+}π^{-}.
One of the major problems of p-i-n tunneling field-effect transistor (TFET) is the reliability due to the strong electric field near the tunneling junction. In this paper, using technology ...computer-aided design simulation, we show that the insertion of a thin n-layer into the tunneling junction of the p-i-n TFET (p-n-i-n TFET) not only enhances its drive current, as has been previously reported, but also improves its reliability. As compared with the conventional p-i-n TFET, we demonstrate the following properties of the p-n-i-n TFET: 1) The normal component of the electric field near the tunneling junction is reduced, and therefore, the field-driven interface-trap generation can be reduced. This can be further reduced by properly aligning the gate electrode with respect to the tunneling junction. 2) The threshold-voltage shift due to the dielectric charge generated near the tunneling junction is significantly reduced. 3) The variation of the threshold voltage to the oxide and bulk thickness variations is also reduced.
