Kaon electroproduction from light nuclei and hydrogen, using 1H, 2H, 3He, 4He, and Carbon targets has been measured at Jefferson Laboratory. The quasifree angular distributions of Lambda and Sigma ...hyperons were determined at Q^2= 0.35(GeV/c)^2 and W= 1.91GeV. Electroproduction on hydrogen was measured at the same kinematics for reference.
Phys.Rev.Lett.98:132003,2007 We have examined the spin structure of the proton in the region of the
nucleon resonances (1.085 GeV < W < 1.910 GeV) at an average four momentum
transfer of Q^2 = 1.3 ...GeV^2. Using the Jefferson Lab polarized electron beam, a
spectrometer, and a polarized solid target, we measured the asymmetries
A_parallel and A_perp to high precision, and extracted the asymmetries A_1 and
A_2, and the spin structure functions g_1 and g_2. We found a notably non-zero
A_perp, significant contributions from higher-twist effects, and only weak
support for polarized quark--hadron duality.
We propose to use the curved transport line into Hall C at CEBAF to measure the beam energy. With only dipoles powered, this transport arc has a dispersion of 12 cm/%. We propose to insert pairs of ...wire scanners at the entrance and exit of the arc to measure beam position and direction. These measurements, together with a calibrated dipole field, obtain an absolute beam energy measurement with /spl sim/10/sup -3/ accuracy, according to error analyses. In operational mode, arc quads and sextupoles are powered to obtain a second order achromat with a dispersion of 2.1 cm/% at the arc center. A wire scanner at the arc center then obtains a relative energy measurement of /spl sim/10/sup -4/ accuracy.< >
We report the serum levels of soluble interleukin 2 receptor (sIL2R), beta 2-microglobulin (beta 2-M) and interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma) in patients undergoing adoptive immunotherapy with rIL2 and ...lymphocyte-activated killer (LAK) cells. Our results indicate that rIL2 induced a marked increase of the serum concentration of these markers, although this increase varied considerably for different individuals. Parallel studies with the same patients also showed a marked rise in the number of IL2R+ lymphocytes: the IL2Rs expressed on these cells were mainly of the "low affinity" type. We suggest that evaluation of these markers may allow the monitoring of immune system activation induced by rIL2 in patients undergoing adoptive rIL2 and LAK cell immunotherapy.

The High Momentum Spectrometer in Hall C will use planar drift chambers for charged particle track reconstruction. The chambers are constructed using well understood technology and a conventional gas ...mixture. Two (plus one spare) drift chambers will be constructed for this spectrometers. Each chamber will contain 6 planes of readout channels. This paper describes the chamber design and gas handling system used.
