Using a multidimensional framework of CEO temporal focus (the degree to which CEOs characteristically devote attention to perceptions of the past, present, and future), we propose that a company's ...rate of new product introduction (NPI) is predicted by a CEO's focus on each of the three distinct time frames in interaction with environmental dynamism. Based on a longitudinal (from 1996 to 2003) analysis of 221 firms in 19 industries, we show that, in stable environments, new products are introduced faster in firms headed by CEOs with high past focus, high present focus, and low future focus. In dynamic environments, new products are introduced faster in firms headed by CEOs with low past focus, high present focus, and high future focus. These findings demonstrate how CEO temporal attentional bias shapes the rate of NPI.
How CEOs think and feel about time may have a big influence on their firms' strategies. We examine how two distinct CEO temporal dispositions—time urgency (the feeling of being chronically hurried) ...and pacing style (one's pattern of effort over time in working toward deadlines)—each influence corporate entrepreneurship, a key strategic behavior. We propose that CEOs' temporal leadership—how they manage the temporal aspects of top management teams' activities—mediates the relationships between their temporal dispositions and corporate entrepreneurship—firms' innovation, corporate venturing, and strategic renewal activities. Using a sample of 129 small and medium-sized Chinese firms, we find that CEOs' time urgency is positively related to their temporal leadership, which in turn is positively related to corporate entrepreneurship. We also examine the effects of three distinct pacing styles: early-action, meaning the CEO exerts the most effort early in the task process and relaxes as the deadline nears; steady-action, meaning the CEO spreads out effort evenly across the time allotted; and deadline-action, meaning the CEO is most active as the deadline nears. We find that the deadline-action style inhibits CEOs' temporal leadership, but the steady-action and early-action styles have similar effects on their temporal leadership. This study explicates the dispositional basis of executives' subjective views of time, demonstrating how CEOs' temporal dispositions shape firms' behaviors.
In order to improve the accuracy of automatic translation of business English, an optimized design of business English translation teaching platform is proposed based on the logistic model combined ...with deep learning. After using the logistic model to analyze the semantic features of business English translation, the deep learning model is used to segment and mine English images, and the automated lexical feature analysis of business English translation is carried out by using contextual feature matching and adaptive semantic variable finding methods to extract the amount of correlation features between words and vocabulary and to correct the differences in translation in a specific business context to improve the accuracy of English translation. The software design of the platform is carried out under the logistic model, and the platform is mainly divided into a vocabulary database module, an English information processing module, a web interface module, and a human-computer interaction interface module. The test results show that the accuracy of business English translation using this method is good, and the automatic translation capability is strong.
A series of innovative Ce-Mn/Ti-pillared-clay (Ce-Mn/Ti-PILC) catalysts combining the advantages of PILCs and Ce-Mn were investigated for elemental mercury (Hg0) capture at 100-350 °C in the absence ...of HCl in the flue gas. The fresh and used catalysts were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), nitrogen adsorption-desorption, X-ray diffraction (XRD), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The catalyst characterization indicated that the 6%Ce-6%MnOx/Ti-PILC catalyst possessed a large specific surface area and high dispersion of Ce and Mn on the surface. The experimental results indicated that the 6%Ce-6%MnOx/Ti-PILC catalyst exhibited high Hg0 capture (>90%) at 100-350 °C. During the first stage of the reaction, the main Hg0 capture mechanism for the catalyst was adsorption. As the reaction proceeded, the Hg0 oxidation ability was substantially enhanced. Both the hydroxyl oxygen and the lattice oxygen on the surface of the catalysts participated in Hg0 oxidation. At a low temperature (150 °C), the hydroxyl oxygen and lattice oxygen from Ce4+→Ce3+ and Mn3+→Mn2+ on the surface contributed to Hg0 oxidation. However, at a high temperature (250 °C), the hydroxyl oxygen and lattice oxygen from Mn4+→Mn3+ contributed to Hg0 oxidation. Hg0 oxidation was preferred at a high temperature. The 6%Ce-6%MnOx/Ti-PILC catalyst was demonstrated to a good Hg0 adsorbent and catalytic oxidant in the absence of HCl in the flue gas.
In the context of the expanding local food market, grasping the evolutionary trajectory of consumer purchasing behavior is crucial for understanding market dynamics. This study adopts a ...cross-generational perspective to delve into and elucidate the similarities and differences in local food consumption behaviors between Gen Z and Gen Y. Through the analysis of online survey data from 251 individuals of Gen Z and 319 of Gen Y and utilizing the Theory of Planned Behavior as a theoretical framework, and the study identifies eight key variables. The findings reveal that while Gen Z and Gen Y exhibit a range of common characteristics in their choice of local food,including attention to word of mouth, health consciousness, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, and attitude.there is a significant divergence in their motivating factors for purchasing. Specifically, convenience is the primary driver for Gen Z when selecting local food; conversely, price is the decisive factor in the decision-making process of Gen Y. By unveiling these significant differences and similarities, the research offers significant understanding beneficial to the food sector, particularly in formulating market strategies targeted at different generations.
The demand for autonomous exploration and mapping of underground environments has significantly increased in recent years. However, accurately localizing and mapping robots in subterranean settings ...presents notable challenges. This paper presents a tightly coupled LiDAR-Inertial odometry system that combines the NanoGICP point cloud registration method with IMU pre-integration using incremental smoothing and mapping. Specifically, a point cloud affected by dust particles is first filtered out and separated into ground and non-ground point clouds (for ground vehicles). To maintain accuracy in environments with spatial variations, an adaptive voxel filter is employed, which reduces computation time while preserving accuracy. The estimated motion derived from IMU pre-integration is utilized to correct point cloud distortion and provide an initial estimation for LiDAR odometry. Subsequently, a scan-to-map point cloud registration is executed using NanoGICP to obtain a more refined pose estimation. The resulting LiDAR odometry is then employed to estimate the bias of the IMU. We comprehensively evaluated our system on established subterranean datasets. These datasets were collected by two separate teams using different platforms during the DARPA Subterranean (SubT) Challenge. The experimental results demonstrate that our system achieved performance enhancements as high as 50-60% in terms of root mean square error (RMSE).
Rockburst is a common dynamic disaster in deep underground engineering. To accurately predict rockburst intensity grade, this study proposes a novel rockburst prediction model based on variable ...weight and matter-element extension theory. In the proposed model, variable weight theory is used to optimize the weights of prediction indexes. Matter-element extension theory and grade variable method are used to calculate the grade variable interval corresponding to the classification standard of rockburst intensity grade. The rockburst intensity grade of Engineering Rock Mass is predicted by rock burst intensity level variable and the interval. Finally, the model is tested by predicting the rockburst intensity grades of worldwide several projects. The prediction results are compared with the actual rockburst intensity grades and the prediction results of other models. The results indicate that, after using variable weight theory and grade variable method, the correct rate of prediction results of matter-element extension model is improved, and the safety of the prediction results is also enhanced. This study provides a new way to predict rock burst in underground engineering.

The escalating environmental ...issues have awakened consumers' environmental and competitive awareness, which significantly aids in increasing the probability of green food consumption.
This study, based on the Self-Consistency Theory and the Theory of Planned Behavior, constructs a model to analyze the effects of consumer competitive and environmental awareness on green food purchase intentions. Data from 700 consumer surveys were examined through structural equation modeling.
Findings indicate that while consumer competitive awareness negatively impacts green self-efficacy and perceived control, environmental awareness has a positive effect. Green self-efficacy and perceived control both positively influence green food purchase intentions. Notably, competitive awareness has a more substantial negative impact on perceived control compared to green self-efficacy. In contrast, the positive influence of environmental awareness on green self-efficacy is stronger than on perceived control. Moreover, the effect of green self-efficacy on green food purchase intention is more pronounced than that of perceived control.
Strategies like enhancing media publicity, educational initiatives, and improving purchase convenience can increase consumer purchase intentions. This study offers valuable insights for governments and businesses in understanding consumer psychology in green food consumption, aiding in marketing strategies for green food products.
To investigate the mechanism of the protective effect of tetrahydroxystilbene glucoside (TSG) on nerve cells, an injury model induced by rotenone in PC12 cells was constructed. Cell viability was ...detected by using cell counting kit-8 (CCK8) assay. Apoptosis was detected by using flow cytometry. The mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP) was detected by using the fluorescent probe JC-1. Generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in PC12 cells was determined using the 5-(and-6)-chloromethyl-2′,7′-dichlorodihydrofluorescein diacetate acetyl ester (CM-H2DCFDA) probe. Protein expression in PC12 cells was detected using Western blotting. The results showed that TSG (20–100 µM) attenuated the cytotoxic effects of rotenone on PC12 cells. TSG pretreatment attenuated the apoptosis rate, the degradation of poly(ADP-ribose)polymerase (PARP) and the activation of cleaved caspase 3, which was induced by rotenone. TSG can significantly reduce the effect of rotenone on the reduction of MMP and the expression of cytoC in the cytosolic fraction. TSG attenuated rotenone-induced de-phosphorylation and mitochondrial translocation of cofilin, as well as rotenone-induced accumulation of ROS. The Western blot results showed that ROT could decrease the expression level of phosphorylated (p)-Glycogen synthase kinase-3β (GSK)-3β and p-AKT, and TSG could weaken these effects of rotenone. In addition, TSG increased the expression level of nuclear factor-E2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) in the nuclear fraction. These results suggest that TSG could protect PC12 cells against rotenone through multiple pathways. Thus, TSG has the potential to become a novel neuroprotective agent.

Global tourism sustainability goals call for a higher tourism industry ecologization (TIE) level. Previous studies have focused on TIE’s conceptual definition and assessment framework but have not yet to explore its driving mechanisms. This study builds an analytical framework for TIE based on the Technology-Organization-Environment (TOE) framework. It proposes that TIE depends not on a single condition but on the configurational effects of technology, organization, and environment. Using Getis-Ord Gi* to analyze the spatial distribution of TIE and then fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) to analyze the effect of conditions on TIE, the results show that: 1) From 2011 to 2019, the level of TIE in 30 Chinese provinces is generally stable, but its spatial distribution varies. 2) There are three configurations to achieve high TIE levels: green drive, organization pull environment, and comprehensive conditions drive. Moreover, there are two configurations to achieve not-high TIE levels: comprehensive conditions miss and organization-environment miss. 3) Fiscal decentralization and industrial structure are the main conditions for high levels of TIE, and low green cover is the primary condition for non-high levels of TIE. The impact of technology innovation capacity and digital economy development level on TIE depends on specific combinations of conditions. This study provides a valuable reference for tourism destination managers coordinating technical, organizational, and environmental conditions to promote TIE according to local conditions.
