Cílem této pilotní studie bylo vytvořit a validizovat českou verzi sedmipoložkové Škály nepřipoutanosti k Já (NTS-CZ) a prověřit její psychometrické vlastnosti. NTS byla nejprve s využitím postupu ...zpětného překladu přeložena do češtiny a následně byla administrována prostřednictvím webového rozhraní. 782 respondentů (165 mužů, 617 žen) vyplnilo NTS-CZ, krátkou verzi Dotazníku pěti aspektů všímavosti (FFMQ-15-CZ) a Sussexsko-Oxfordskou škálu soucitu k sobě (SOCS-S-CZ). Konfirmační faktorová analýza potvrdila jednofaktorovou strukturu NTS-CZ (SRMR = 0,037, RMSEA = 0,082, CFI = 0,972, TLI = 0,950). Hodnota Cronbachova koeficientu alfa NTS-CZ byla α = 0,85. Podle očekávání byly zjištěny vysoké pozitivní korelace NTS-CZ s dotazníky měřícími všímavost a soucit k sobě. Výsledky podporují další využití NTS-CZ v psychologickém výzkumu.

This study describes the statistical analysis of peak forces of industrial washing machines. The data source comes from twelve different machines. The measurements are done using a force gauge ...installed in places for fastening screws. A new software based on LabView has been developed to gauge the acting forces. To determine extreme force values, various probability distributions are applied. Furthermore, a convex combination of lognormal distribution is used in more complicated cases. The parameters of the lognormal mixtures are determined using modified an Expectation-maximization algorithm. Finally, the achieved results are interpreted with regard to the engineering design and to the operating reliability.
DNA topoisomerase IIalpha (Topo IIalpha) is linked to tumour cell growth and chemoresistance. We examined immunohistochemically Topo IIalpha expression levels in a series of 36 consecutive paediatric ...optic pathway glioma (OPG) patients. Topo IIalpha labelling index (LI) ranged from 0.0 to 11.6 and was significantly associated with patient age, with higher levels of Topo IIalpha in children < or = 3 years (P=0.031). Topo IIalpha expression did not correlate with patient survival. Topo IIalpha LI was not significantly increased in specimens of repeat surgery. Topo IIalpha LI closely correlated with MIB-1 LI (R=0.781, P<0.001). We conclude that Topo IIalpha expression correlates with tumour cell proliferation in paediatric OPGs. Assessment of cell proliferation, however, does not assist in refining prognostic predictions. Enhanced Topo IIalpha expression in children < or = 3.0 years suggests that Topo IIalpha-interfering anticancer compounds for adjuvant treatment of OPGs may be of particular benefit to young children.
Background: Capital budgeting decisions in the logistics industry often combine three distinct characteristics. Firstly, they relate to capital assets – such as vehicles or equipment – being ...periodically replaced with different useful lives and efficiency features, and secondly, their performance is subject to particular operating and market risks. Lastly, externalities, such as regulatory interventions and technological evolution, also contribute to innovation – and thus also uncertainty – becoming a significant factor in logistics. Accordingly, this paper develops a valuation model which takes these characteristics into account and facilitates a robust decision-making process. Methods: In order to properly capture the specifics of the problem, the proposed model is based on an application of the Life Cycle Cost budgeting method benchmarked to an appropriate functional unit, combined with the Monte Carlo simulation and sensitivity analyses of relevant risk factors. Results: A realistic case study was developed, providing the necessary input parameters for the method's application. It was thus demonstrated that it provides useful and coherent resources for the decision-making process, including the tools needed to test various assumptions and determine project risks. Conclusions: The presented model and its solution provide results which are superior compared to conventional capital budgeting methods in terms of properly capturing the essential value-determining factors for a common type of problem encountered in logistics. They are also adequately comprehensive to be applied by practitioners in a real-life managerial setting.
