Our aim was to describe a patient with psychogenic movement disorder (PMD) who presented with tremor dominant involuntary movements, as well as to emphasize the clinical features important for ...establishing a correct diagnosis. A 48-year-old man presented to our outpatient neurology clinic with gait and speech disturbance. He had jerky, tremor-like involuntary movements occurring during gait, voluntary movements and/or at rest. The involuntary movements of the patient, who benefited from risperidone treatment and supportive interviews, substantially disappeared. Since PMDs are complex disorders, a multidisciplinary approach with cooperation of neurologistand psychiatrist is needed for proper diagnoses and treatment. Cilj istraživanja bio je ispitati učestalost epilepsije među studentima Sveučilišta Canakkale Onsekiz Mart, Turska. Ova presječna epidemiološka studija provedena je na 4762 od 19.988 studenata ovoga ...Sveučilišta u školskoj godini 2007.-2008. Identificirani su sudionici koji su na pitanje “Imate li kakvu bolest koju vam je dijagnosticirao liječnik?” odgovorili “epilepsija” u anketnom upitniku s 4 podskupine pitanja. Podaci su preneseni u statistički program Epi-Info verzija 6.0, a provjereni podaci su potom analizirani pomoću statističkog programa SPSS 15.0. Bilo je 53,1% studentica i 46,9% studenata srednje dobi 20,4±2,1(17-43) godina. Dijagnozu epilepsije je imalo 12 (0,25%) ispitanika, osam (66,7%) studentica i četvorica (33,3%) studenata srednje dobi 20,8±1,8 godina. U ovoj studiji epilepsija je utvrđena u 12 (0,25%) ispitanika. Epidemiološke studije učestalosti epilepsije u određenim dobnim skupinama vrlo su rijetke, poglavito među studentima kao populaciji s prosječnom inteligencijom. Stoga smatramo da je važno rezultate ove naše presječne studije podijeliti sa svima koji se bave epidemiologijom i liječenjem epilepsije.
Melkersson-Rosenthal syndrome (MRS) is a rare granulomatous disease characterized by recurrent orofacial edema, facial palsy, and a fissured tongue. In this article, we report a 23-year-old female ...case with recurrent peripheral facial palsy, mild orofacial edema, and a fissured tongue. She had spots in her feet with a history of oral aphthous ulcers and experienced a relapse once a year. The neuroimaging results were normal, however the laboratory examination indicated systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). This rare case is presented to emphasize the complete triad of MRS concomitantly occurring with SLE in this patient. Melkersson-Rosenthal sendromu (MRS) yineleyen orofasiyal odem, fasiyal palsi ve fissurlu dil ile karakterize nadir bir granulomatoz hastaliktir. Bu yazida, yineleyen periferik fasiyal paralizi, hafif orofasiyal odem ve fissurlu dili olan 23 yasinda bir kadin olgu sunuldu. Ayaklarinda lekeler ve yilda bir kez tekrarlayan oral aftoz ulser oykusu mevcuttu. Norogoruntuleme bulgulari normaldi; ancak laboratuvar incelemeleri sistemik lupus eritematoz (SLE) tanisini destekliyordu. Bu nadir olgu, SLE hastasinda gorulen komplet MRS'yi vurgulamak icin sunuldu. Team sports have gained a significant place in society, generating debates about team strengths, player merits, and ultimately, determining champions. The National Basketball Association (NBA) offers ...various individual awards, with the MVP award holding paramount importance. Selecting the MVP necessitates a comprehensive approach considering both statistical performance and team success throughout the season. This study presents a fuzzy decision-making approach to compare the performance of players and identify the MVP of the League. A case study for the 2022-2023 NBA season is presented in this study, wherein 535 players' regular season statistics are analyzed. Correlation analysis is employed to eliminate the criteria which are dependent on each other. Therefore, the number of criteria has been decreased from twenty to seven which are defined as key metrics: (i) matches won, (ii) points scored per game, (iii) shooting percentage, (iv) rebounds per game, (v) assists per game, (vi) steals per game, and (vii) blocks per game. After correlation analysis, Full Consistency Method (FUCOM) is employed to determine the importance weights of the criteria. We have employed a specific normalization procedure and employed information axiomatic design (IAD) to rank players based on their total information contents. The case study proves the feasibility and applicability of the proposed methodology for multiple criteria ranking problem. Future research may focus on position-specific rankings, providing more accurate assessments, and extending analysis to youth leagues for draft day decisions.
Cilj istraživanja bio je ispitati percepciju epilepsije u Turskoj, od zapada do istoka, u gradovima Kutahya i Yuksekova različitog sociokulturalnog i etničkog statusa. Istraživanje je provedeno kao ...retrospektivna, usporedbena studija u kojoj su se procjenjivali rezultati dviju prethodnih studija koje su ispitivale stigmatizaciju bolesnika s dijagnosticiranom epilepsijom i njihovih srodnika prvog stupnja u dva različita turska grada, Kutahya i Yuksekova. Primijenjeno je anketiranje rodbine epileptičnih bolesnika o znanju, stavovima i ponašanju u odnosu na bolest, a obuhvaćena su pitanja o deskriptivnim značajkama, poznavanju epilepsije, stavovima prema epilepsiji i razumijevanju epilepsije. Podaci prikupljeni uz pomoć statističkog programa SPSS 15.0 analizirani su primjenom χ2-testa. U skupini Yuksekova 88,5% srodnika prvog stupnja osoba s epilepsijom osjetilo je prvenstveno strah kad su čuli za dijagnozu epilepsije postavljenu kod njihovih rođaka, dok je u skupini Kutahya taj postotak bio 19,1% (p<0,05). Broj sudionika koji su svom djetetu zamjerali sklapanje braka s nekim tko boluje od epilepsije bio je značajno viši u skupini Yuksekova (p<0,05). No kad je takav brak već sklopljen, značajan broj sudionika skupine Yuksekova ustvrdio je kako bi oni trebali imati djecu, što ukazuje na važnost djece u istočnom dijelu Turske kao pokazatelja snage i dostojanstva (p<0,05). Iako se razumijevanje epilepsije pokazalo povoljnim, izobrazba lokalne zajednice o epilepsiji i osobni kontakti glavne su strategije protiv stigmatiziranja osoba s epilepsijom.
INTRODUCTION: In order to examine the professional self-esteem of nursing students and their satisfaction level in their education, the study was designed in descriptive design METHODS: The study was ...carried out on 149 nursing students studying at a foundation university in Istanbul. Ethics committee and institution permission were obtained and the data were collected by using Student Satisfaction Scale-Short Form and Arıcak Occupational Self-Esteem Scale. Data were analyzed by percentage, t test, ANOVA, Pearson Correlation and Mann Whitney U tests. RESULTS: Most of the students were female (82.6%) and 21-23 (45.6%). It was determined that 73.2% of the students chose the profession voluntarily, 59.7% of them chose the profession the family was effective, 91.9% of them thought they would do their job after graduation and 74.5% of the students were not members of the social clubs. The overall average of the student satisfaction scale was 3,43 +- 71, and it was found that the students got the highest (3.68 +- 0,65) of the sub-dimension of the teaching staff (3,68 +- 0,69). The total score of the self-esteem scale was determined as 115,87 +- 18,25. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION: It was determined that there was a positive and significant relationship between the students' self-esteem scale and the student satisfaction scale. Students' professional self-esteem is the lowest first class, the highest in the fourth class is determined by choosing the profession voluntarily, who are satisfied with the department and after graduating from the profession of professional self-esteem was found to consider higher self-esteem
