FFDG PET/CT is of utmost importance for radiation treatment (RT) planning and response monitoring in lung cancer patients, in both non-small and small cell lung cancer (NSCLC and SCLC). ...This topic has been addressed in guidelines composed by experts within the field of radiation oncology. However, up to present, there is no procedural guideline on this subject, with involvement of the nuclear medicine societies.
Methods
A literature review was performed, followed by a discussion between a multidisciplinary team of experts in the different fields involved in the RT planning of lung cancer, in order to guide clinical management. The project was led by experts of the two nuclear medicine societies (EANM and SNMMI) and radiation oncology (ESTRO).
Results and conclusion
This guideline results from a joint and dynamic collaboration between the relevant disciplines for this topic. It provides a worldwide, state of the art, and multidisciplinary guide to 2-

FFDG PET/CT RT planning in NSCLC and SCLC. These practical recommendations describe applicable updates for existing clinical practices, highlight potential flaws, and provide solutions to overcome these as well. Finally, the recent developments considered for future application are also reviewed.
In most patients with ovarian carcinoma, the diagnosis is reached when the disease is long past the initial stages, presenting already an advanced stage, and they usually have a very bad prognosis. ...Cytoreductive or debulking surgical procedures, platinum-based chemotherapy and targeted agents are key therapeutic elements. However, around 7 out of 10 patients present recurrent disease within 36 months from the initial diagnosis. The metastatic spread in ovarian cancer follows three pathways: contiguous dissemination across the peritoneum, dissemination through the lymphatic drainage and, although less importantly in this case, through the bloodstream. Aim
As a follow-up to the international survey conducted by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in April 2020, this survey aims to provide a situational snapshot of the COVID-19 impact on ...nuclear medicine services worldwide, 1 year later. The survey was designed to determine the impact of the pandemic at two specific time points: June and October 2020, and compare them to the previously collected data.
Materials and methods
A web-based questionnaire, in the same format as the April 2020 survey was disseminated to nuclear medicine facilities worldwide. Survey data was collected using a secure software platform hosted by the IAEA; it was made available for 6 weeks, from November 23 to December 31, 2020.
Results
From 505 replies received from 96 countries, data was extracted from 355 questionnaires (of which 338 were fully completed). The responses came from centres across varying regions of the world and with heterogeneous income distributions. Regional differences and challenges across the world were identified and analysed. Globally, the volume of nuclear medicine procedures decreased by 73.3% in June 2020 and 56.9% in October 2020. Among the nuclear medicine procedures, oncological PET studies showed less of a decline in utilization compared to conventional nuclear medicine, particularly nuclear cardiology. The negative impact was also significantly less pronounced in high-income countries. A trend towards a gradual return to the pre-COVID-19 situation of the supply chains of radioisotopes, generators, and other essential materials was evident.
Conclusion
The year 2020 has a significant decrease in nuclear medicine diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as a result of the pandemic-related challenges. In June, the global decline recorded in the survey was greater than in October when the situation began to show improvement. However, the total number of procedures remained below those recorded in April 2020 and fell to less than half of the volumes normally carried out pre-pandemic.

Ffluoroglucose), have been developed to image immune checkpoints (ICs) or key elements of the immune system, although most of them are still in preclinical phases. Herein, we present the current state of the ImmunoPET-targeting of IC proteins with mAbs and antibody fragments, with a main focus on the latest developments in clinical molecular imaging studies of solid tumors. Moreover, given the relevance of the immune system and of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes in particular in the prediction of the benefit of ICIs, we dedicate a portion of this review to ImmunoPET-targeting T cells.
The aim of this comprehensive review is to describe and analyze the role of the sentinel node mapping in head and neck cancers. For this purpose, head and neck neoplasms have been categorized in ...cutaneous malignancies and neoplasms of the upper aerodigestive tract. A concise description of lymphatic drainage will be the “prelude” for each section, as well as the description of the injection techniques, when specific. Concisely, the attention has been focused on detection rate of the sentinel node by lymphoscintigraphy for each cancer, and for those patients in which the sentinel lymph node has been identified, true-positives rates, false-negative rates, and overall accuracy has been pointed out. Overall, in cutaneous neoplasms of the head and neck, the detection rate is higher than 90%, however the false-negative rate is still an issue, in particular in melanoma, inducing the need for newer developments. In fact, new tracers and techniques are already available, while prospective multicenter trials exploring the outcome impact are needed in the near future. For the upper aerodigestive tract and in particular oral cavity and oropharynx, sentinel lymph node identification by lymphoscintigraphy allows avoiding unnecessary neck dissection and/or node irradiation. Even in this case, the main limit remains the risk of false-negative rates. While, for patients affected by laryngeal and hypopharyngeal cancers the data seem very limited and, although the feasibility has been demonstrated, performances of this lymphoscintigraphy still need to be confirmed by multicenter studies.
Large vessel vasculitis (LVV) is defined as a disease mainly affecting the large arteries, with two major variants, Takayasu arteritis (TA) and giant cell arteritis (GCA). GCA often coexists with ...polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR) in the same patient, since both belong to the same disease spectrum. FDG-PET/CT is a functional imaging technique which is an established tool in oncology, and has also demonstrated a role in the field of inflammatory diseases. Functional FDG-PET combined with anatomical CT angiography, FDG-PET/CT(A), may be of synergistic value for optimal diagnosis, monitoring of disease activity, and evaluating damage progression in LVV. There are currently no guidelines regarding PET imaging acquisition for LVV and PMR, even though standardization is of the utmost importance in order to facilitate clinical studies and for daily clinical practice. This work constitutes a joint procedural recommendation on FDG-PET/CT(A) imaging in large vessel vasculitis (LVV) and PMR from the Cardiovascular and Inflammation & Infection Committees of the European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM), the Cardiovascular Council of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI), and the PET Interest Group (PIG), and endorsed by the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology (ASNC). The aim of this joint paper is to provide recommendations and statements, based on the available evidence in the literature and consensus of experts in the field, for patient preparation, and FDG-PET/CT(A) acquisition and interpretation for the diagnosis and follow-up of patients with suspected or diagnosed LVV and/or PMR. This position paper aims to set an internationally accepted standard for FDG-PET/CT(A) imaging and reporting of LVV and PMR.
Studies with 68 GaGa-labeled or 18 FF-labeled fibroblast activation protein inhibitor compounds have demonstrated favorable characteristics for PET/CT imaging, making them especially interesting ...for digestive tumors. In this review, the recent evidence in this field and its potential clinical applications are discussed.
In “Joint EANM/SNMMI/ESTRO Practice Recommendations for the Use of 2-18FFDG-PET/CT External Beam Radiation Treatment Planning in Lung Cancer V1.0” clinical indications for PET-CT in (non-)small cell ...lung cancer are highlighted and selective nodal irradiation is discussed.
