The link between dietary fiber intake and Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is under exploration, yielding inconsistent findings. Considering the limitations of previous research and the ...significance of dietary fiber in hepatic steatosis, this study investigates the association between dietary fiber intake and Controlled Attenuation Parameter (CAP) among 5935 participants from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES).
Multivariable regression was used to evaluate the association between dietary fiber intake and CAP. Smoothed curve fitting and threshold effect analysis techniques were applied to illustrate non-linear relationships.
After adjusting for other variables, a negative correlation emerged between dietary fiber intake and CAP. Subgroup analysis by gender and race/ethnicity revealed a sustained negative association between dietary fiber intake and CAP among females and Whites. Additionally, an inverted U-shaped relationship was observed between dietary fiber intake and CAP among women and other race, with inflection points at 13.80 g/day and 33.45 g/day, respectively.
Our research indicates that in the majority of Americans, there is an inverse relationship between dietary fiber intake and hepatic steatosis. This relationship exhibits an inverted U-shaped curve in women and other race, with a threshold effect. The findings of this study hold potential significance for clinical nutrition interventions, personalized dietary guidance, and advancing research into the diet-disease mechanism relationship.
Purpose The connection between magnesium and hepatic steatosis has not been well-studied. This study aimed to explore the link between magnesium intake and hepatic steatosis, utilizing data from the ...National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2017–2020. Materials and methods The analysis included 5,935 participants, excluding individuals with hepatitis infection or substantial alcohol consumption. Magnesium intake assessment was based on 24-h dietary recalls. Hepatic steatosis evaluation employed the controlled attenuation parameter (CAP), measured via transient elastography. Multivariate regression and subgroup analyses were conducted to scrutinize the relationship between magnesium intake and CAP values. Results A higher magnesium intake was associated with lower CAP values, after adjusting for potential confounders. Subgroup analyses indicated an inverted U-shaped correlation between magnesium intake and CAP in women, White people, and non-hypertensive individuals, with respective inflection points at 126, 124.5, and 125 mg/day, respectively. Below these thresholds, a higher magnesium intake correlated with increased CAP values, while above these points, it was associated with decreased CAP. Conclusion This extensive population-based study indicates an inverse relationship between magnesium intake and hepatic steatosis in Americans. This relationship displays an inverted U-curve, varying before and after specified inflection points in women, White people, and non-hypertensive individuals. These findings offer insights into tailored magnesium supplementation strategies for preventing and treating liver steatosis, based on gender and ethnicity.
This paper investigates the dynamic interactions of the cross‐section distribution of sectoral price changes and the output growth in the Chinese economy. We compare in depth the results of Granger ...causality tests, Impulse Response, and Forecast Error Variance Decompositions from Mixed Sampling Frequency Vector Autoregression (MFVAR) with those from common frequency vector autoregression (VAR). It shows that potential causalities for inflation, relative price variability, relative price skewness, and output growth can be successfully detected by the MFVAR. The cross‐section distribution of sectoral price changes stands to be a fundamental determinant of fluctuations in the aggregate economy, not only in the short run but also in the long run. Moreover, the empirical results are robust to the identification restrictions imposed as well as to alternative measures for model variables. Our findings are in line with the predictions of a standard sticky‐price model, and thus pricing frictions are important factors behind the short‐run nonneutrality of nominal shocks. We highlight the primacy of the information contained in the higher‐order moments of cross‐section distribution of sectoral price changes. We propose that policy authorities should make proper use of all of the valuable information available, particularly those embodied in the distribution of sectoral prices.
Pityriasis rosea is a common papulosquamous disorder. However, its etiology and pathogenesis remain unclear.
We investigate the types of inflammatory cells infiltrating the lesional skin of ...pityriasis rosea and demonstrate whether T-cell-mediated immunity is involved in the pathogenesis of this condition or not.
The biopsies were taken from the lesional skin of 35 cases of patients diagnosed with pityriasis rosea. The specimens were prepared in paraffin sections, then submitted to routine immunohistochemistry procedures using monoclonal antibodies directed against CD3, CD4, CD8, CD20 and CD45RO and horseradish peroxidase-labeled goat anti-human antibodies. The positive sections were determined by the ratio and staining intensity of positive inflammatory cells.
The mean score of positive CD3, CD4, CD8, and CD45RO staining was respectively 3.74±3.88, 5.67±4.40, 2.94±3.42 and 7.68±4.33 in these pityriasis rosea patients (P<0.001). The percentage of positive staining was 54.29% (19/35), 69.7% (23/33), 40% (14/35) and 79.41% (27/34) (P<0.05). However, the staining of CD20 was negative in all samples. The mean score of CD3 staining in patients with time for remission ≤60 days (4.90±4.21) was higher than that in patients with time for remission >60 days (2.00±2.5) (P<0.05), whereas no statistical difference in the mean score of CD4, CD8 and CD45RO staining was observed.
The sample size and the selected monoclonal antibody are limited, so the results reflect only part of the cellular immunity in the pathogenesis of pityriasis rosea.
Our findings support a predominantly T-cell mediated immunity in the development of pityriasis rosea.
Researchers have learned that nearly all conditions and diseases have a genetic component. With the benefit of technological advances, many single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) have been found to ...be associated with the risk of complex disorders by using genome wide association studies (GWASs). Disease-associated SNPs are sometimes shared by healthy controls and cannot clearly distinguish affected individuals from unaffected ones. The combined effects of multiple independent SNPs contribute to the disease process, but revealing the relationship between genotype and phenotype based on the combinations remains a great challenge. In this study, by considering the disease prevalence rate, we conducted an exhaustive process to identify whether a genotype combination pattern would have a decisive effect on complex disorders. Based on genotype data for 68 reported SNPs in 8,372 psoriasis patients and 8,510 healthy controls, we found that putative causal genotype combination patterns (CGCPs) were only present in psoriasis patients, not in healthy subjects. These results suggested that psoriasis might be contributed by combined genotypes, complementing the traditional modest susceptibility of a single variant in a single gene for a complex disease. This work is the first systematic study to analyze genotype combinations based on the reported susceptibility genes, considering each individual among the cases and controls from the Chinese population, and could potentially advance disease-gene mapping and precision medicine due to the causality relationship between the candidate CGCPs and complex diseases.

Cite Space (5.6.R3) was used to analyze the volume of publications, journals, authors, cited journals, cited authors, countries, cited references, institutions, and keywords by using standard bibliometric measures. The most productive countries and institutions in this area were China (79) and BeijingUniversity of Chinese Medicine (24). The Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine was the most published journal (29) and also had the highest number of citations (80). The article by Woo HL (2018) (number of citations: 13) and the article by (centrality: 0.38) were the most representative references. JiangZhu (17) was the most productive author and Dawood MY (47) was the top cited author. The number one keyword in terms of frequency and centrality was 'primary dysmenorrhea", and the leading hotspot from 2002 to 2022 was "Functional connectivity". The three forefront topics were "prevalence", "impact"and "point'. This research is thefirst bibliometric analysis of the current situation and new trends about acupuncture for dysmenorrhea in the past 20 years using CiteSpace. It offered some information on acupuncture for dysmenorrhea and valuable information for researchers to identify prospective collaborators, partner institutions, popular topics, and research frontiers.
Abstract Hepatic endometriosis is a very rare medical condition characterized by the implantation of ectopic endometrial tissue within the hepatic parenchyma. Preoperative diagnosis is difficult via ...cross-sectional imaging and histopathologic evaluation remains the gold standard for diagnosis. We report a case of hepatic endometrioma in a 44-year-old woman with history of endometriosis. The literature is reviewed, and magnetic resonance imaging findings together with differential diagnosis of hepatic endometriosis are highlighted.
Satellite networks have long been regarded as a vital component of space communication systems, which provide integrated satellite-terrestrial broadband access in seamless coverage and cost-effective ...manner. The inter-satellite routing design for low earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellations is critical for achieving low-latency and high-reliability communication in the space communication systems. However, the inherent dynamic nature of LEO satellites, coupled with the variability in inter-satellite connectivity, imposes significant challenges for routing efficiency and network dependability. Existing routing schemes cannot handle such topological fluctuations due to their insensitivity to real-time network changes, thus suffering from performance degradations in highly dynamic space environments. This paper presents Iris , an intelligent reliable routing scheme for inter-satellite communication, aiming at increasing efficiency and reliability of the packet transmission process. Specifically, we propose a comprehensive deep reinforcement learning (DRL) framework that learns a policy to select routing paths automatically under the emerging software-defined satellite networking (SDSN) architecture. To strengthen fault-tolerance in fluctuating environments, we train an agent in an incremental manner by gradually increasing scenario complexity. Simulation results indicate that our solution significantly outperforms baselines and exhibits advances in adaptability and reliability, especially under dynamic environments with frequent topology changes.

As the potential complement to terrestrial networks, satellite networks are expected to facilitate full coverage and broadband access at anytime and anywhere. However, satellite networks are characterized by highly dynamic topology and load, and how to design an adaptive routing algorithm to meet diverse application needs faces significant challenges. In this paper, we propose a Link-Attributes-based multi-service On-Demand Routing (LAODR) algorithm to provide highly reliable and service-aware data forwarding for Software -Defined Satellite Networks (SDSN). Specifically, we construct a quantitative model of link reliability which provides a fine-grained state description of the dynamic topology. Furthermore, we select the K-shortest path as the solution space and plan routing paths based on NSGA-II to allocate link resources reasonably. Extensive experiments on the Iridium validate that LAODR outperforms state-of-art routing algorithms in terms of end-to-end average latency, packet loss, throughput and node congestion degree, as well as meets the requirements of diverse services.
