A mathematical model for the hit phenomenon in entertainment within a society is presented as a stochastic process of interactions of human dynamics. The calculations for the Japanese motion picture ...market based on to the mathematical model agree very well with the actual residue distribution in time. The world most popular rock band Cold play is analyzed using the SNS data. L'Arc-en-Ciel of Japanese rock band and LADYGAGA are also analyzed using the data of SNS as well. The results agree very well, so that the mathematical theory for hit phenomena can be applied to the estimation of tickets sold for Music concerts.
A mathematical model for the hit phenomenon in entertainment within a society is presented as a stochastic process of interactions of human dynamics. The model uses only the time distribution of ...advertisement budget as an input, and word-of-mouth (WOM) represented by posts on social network systems is used as data to compare with the calculated results. The unit of time is a day. The calculations for the Japanese motion picture market based on to the mathematical model agree very well with the actual residue distribution in time. The model is applied also to weekly TV drama. We show that prediction is possible in appearance to the number of news and TV and stage with regard reputation of stage actors in Japan in this paper.
Virtual Humans play an important role in supporting communication between human beings through their gestures and facial expressions. We are involved in the study of Virtual Humans as communication ...interfaces to play such a role. Virtual Humans can be classified according to their particular roles with regard to some aspects of communication. The form and method of expression of Virtual Humans can differ greatly according to what is required, for example realism or simple representational communication. Communication efficiency and transmission efficiency should be considered to be digital data. Descriptions of function, form and syntax should be also considered.
This paper presents an algorithm for generating realistic drawing strokes in real-time that can take on the appearance of pastels, charcoals, or crayons. The similarity between the pigment deposit ...patterns on paper surfaces produced by pastel strokes and the shadows/shades on illuminated paper surfaces have been investigated. Multiple paper textures have been prepared and the paper surfaces have been ascertained by illumination from various directions to represent strokes in arbitrary directions. These textures have been processed as if they could be used as a height field, and pigments deposited on the paper have been calculated using the height field and tablet inputs.
In this paper, we present an analysis focused on the visual features of paintings, especially Western paintings following the introduction of Modernism. Building on this analysis, we also present ...methods of parametric painterly image generation from 3D models of visual objects. Painting styles that grew out of the modern age, such as Impressionism, Cubism, and abstract paintings, stress the exploration of an object’s constant color, form and other features. The expressions in modern paintings which focus on particular features have a close association with the way the brain visually processes information. Thus, we introduce modules of visual information processing consisting of form vision, space vision and color vision as vision parameters, and analyze the visual features in paintings. Moreover, we propose methods of achieving the parametric transformation of 3D models, and image generation that includes the expression of visual features classified according to their analysis.
“I know me” is an interactive artwork that produces images based on EEG measurements from human participants. Although artists have previously made some interactive image works, we considered using ...human physiological information as input because it reflects human feelings better. In this research we were interested in information about human's mental states, such as anger or sadness. Brain activity was observed with EEG, subjected to Fourier analysis and converted into an animation based on a Lissajous curve. We generated images corresponding to alpha or beta waves activity in real time and showed them to the observer. The observer understood his own mental condition from looking at the images, and could potentially control his own mental state with this interactive device.
