A method of the endoscopic selective medicamentous denervation of the stomach with the help of an alcohol-novocain solution is described. The method was used in 44 patients with reflux-esophagitis ...which was successfully cupped off in 93.1% of the patients. In the control group the result was 66.6%.
Amorphous ferromagnetic ribbons are considered as a material for ferromagnetic cores for unresonant accelerating structures of 100...200-MeV ion accelerators. The manufacturing of the cores using ...this material are cheaper and easier than that of the cores made from common-used ferrites. Calculated and experimental characteristics of the ferromagnetic cores made from these ribbons (permeability and tangent loss) for a coaxial broad-band accelerating system are presented. These characteristics over the frequency range from 1 to 10 MHz are in good agreement taking into account the skin-effect. Possible versions of coaxial accelerating systems for medical synchrotrons with above mentioned cores are considered.

The optical properties of transition metal dichalcogenide monolayers are widely dominated by excitons, Coulomb-bound electron-hole pairs. These quasi-particles exhibit giant oscillator strength and ...give rise to narrow-band, well-pronounced optical transitions, which can be brought into resonance with electromagnetic fields in microcavities and plasmonic nanostructures. Due to the atomic thinness and robustness of the monolayers, their integration in van der Waals heterostructures provides unique opportunities for engineering strong light-matter coupling. We review first results in this emerging field and outline future opportunities and challenges.
The authors presented comparative assessment of local therapy of gastroduodenal ulcers using laser radiation, sprinkling with silver nitrate solutions and their combined use against a background of ...routine antiulcerative therapy. The sprinkling of ulcers with silver nitrate solutions resulted in a 10-fold decrease in the titer of microbial bodies and fungus colonies. The shortest periods of ulcer healing were noted in the combination of laser radiation with sprinkling with silver nitrate solutions. The authors found it appropriate to use for local therapy combinations of drugs of diverse pathogenetic effect.
The KTeV E799 experiment has conducted a search for the rare decay \(K_{L}\to\pi^{0}\pi^{0}\gamma\) via the topology \(K_{L}\to\pi^{0}\pi^{0}_D\gamma\) (where \(\pi^0_D\to\gamma e^+e^-\)). Due to ...Bose statistics of the \(\pi^0\) pair and the real nature of the photon, the \(K_{L}\to\pi^{0}\pi^{0}\gamma\) decay is restricted to proceed at lowest order by the CP conserving direct emission (DE) of an E2 electric quadrupole photon. The rate of this decay is interesting theoretically since chiral perturbation theory predicts that this process vanishes at level \(O(p^4)\). Therefore, this mode probes chiral perturbation theory at \(O(p^6)\). In this paper we report a determination of an upper limit of \(2.43\times 10^{-7}\) (90% CL) for \(K_{L}\to\pi^{0}\pi^{0}\gamma\). This is approximately a factor of 20 lower than previous results.
