Bulk metallic glasses are out of equilibrium materials and consequently they tend to crystallize when heated in the supercooled liquid region. Crystallization has been shown to change drastically the ...properties of the BMG. However, in order to quantify these changes due to crystallization, it is first necessary to get detailed information about the structure evolution and especially the size and volume fraction of the crystallites. Partial crystallization of the Vitreloy 1 metallic glass is carried out in the supercooled liquid region. The crystallization is quantified by DSC and XRD measurements and the obtained values are compared. An important difference is observed and the maximum volume fraction is compared to the value predicted by appropriate numerical simulations. It is shown that XRD measurements seem to be appropriate to calculate the crystallite volume fraction while care must be taken if using DSC measurements.
We determine the minimum cardinality of an identifying code of $K_n\square K_n$, the Cartesian product of two cliques of same size. Moreover we show that this code is unique, up to row and column ...permutations, when $n\geq 5$ is odd. If $n\geq 4$ is even, we exhibit two distinct optimal identifying codes.
In addition to casting, thermoforming is a particularly interesting way to produce components in bulk metallic glasses since large strains can be achieved when the BMGs are deformed in their ...supercooled liquid region. The experimental window (temperature, time) in which high temperature forming can be carried out is directly related to the crystallization resistance of the glass. Such forming windows have been identified for zirconium based bulk metallic glasses thanks to thermal analysis and compression tests in the supercooled liquid region. Based on this identification, the thermoforming capacity of the studied glasses was used to produce multimaterials associating metallic glasses with conventional metallic alloys. Two processes have been preferentially investigated (co-extrusion and co-pressing) and the interface quality of the elaborated multi materials was studied.

Bien qu’extrêmement rare en pratique clinique courante, le syndrome de fuite capillaire idiopathique (SFCI) ou syndrome de Clarkson est une entité à connaître car elle est grevée d’un pronostic ...sombre et nécessite une prise en charge en urgence. Le retard au diagnostic est fréquent. L’évolution est imprévisible.
L’association aux maladies auto-immunes n’est pas une cause classique de syndrome de fuite capillaire secondaire.
Suite à un appel national à observation par le Club des rhumatismes et inflammation (CRI), nous avons pu colliger dix observations dont cinq cas de syndrome de fuite capillaire secondaires à une maladie auto-immune répondant à nos critères de sélection.
L’âge moyen au diagnostic était de 37,3ans (écart-type 12,7ans), entre 16,8 et 55ans, avec un sex-ratio (H/F) de 0,75 en faveur des femmes.
Le délai diagnostic de la maladie était de 4,24 mois (DS 4,4). La durée moyenne de suivi était de 68 mois (de 5 à 204 mois).
Le nombre de crises moyen par patient était de 4,8 par patient sur la durée totale de suivi disponible avec un taux annuel de 0,18 crises par an et par patient. La prise de poids moyenne était de 15,4kg pendant les crises (6 à 54 % du poids sec).
Quatre patients présentaient un syndrome de Sjögren et 3 étaient porteurs d’anticorps anti-SSA à titre significatifs. Le lien avec la maladie de Sjögren doit être confirmé car cette maladie reste une des connectivites les plus fréquentes. L’implication de l’auto-antigène Ro/SSA ou de l’auto-anticorps anti-SSA reste à préciser par des études in vitro à partir du sérum de patients.
Par ailleurs, nous retrouvons un cas de syndrome de fuite capillaire compliquant une myosite inflammatoire en phase active, et s’inscrivant dans une série d’observations de formes « œdémateuses de myosites inflammatoires » rapportées dans la littérature et dont le mécanisme physiopathologique est également à préciser.
En comparaison avec les formes idiopathiques de Clarkson, on note quelques différences des formes associées aux connectivites : une évolution plus volontiers subaiguë voir chronique, une hémoconcentration moins marquée, la présence fréquente d’une gammapathie monoclonale, des crises moins fréquentes ainsi qu’une certaine cortico-sensibilité. Les IgIV semblent être un traitement préventif efficace.
Nous rapportons cinq observations de syndrome de fuite capillaires associés à des maladies de systèmes (syndrome de Sjögren, sclérodermie et polymyosite). Bien que rare, cette association n’est peut-être pas fortuite et pourrait relever de certains mécanismes physiopathologiques propres (lésions endothéliales et anticorps anti-SSA, rôle du VEGF, activité de la maladie de système).

In this paper the problem of constructing graphs having a $(1,\le \ell)$-identifying code of small cardinality is addressed. It is known that the cardinality of such a code is bounded by ...$\Omega\left({\ell^2\over\log \ell}\log n\right)$. Here we construct graphs on $n$ vertices having a $(1,\le \ell)$-identifying code of cardinality $O\left(\ell^4 \log n\right)$ for all $\ell \ge 2$. We derive our construction from a connection between identifying codes and superimposed codes, which we describe in this paper.
The λ-number of a graph G is the minimum value λ such that G admits a labeling with labels from {0, 1, ..., λ} where vertices at distance two get different labels and adjacent vertices get labels ...that are at least two apart. Sierpinski graphs S(n, k) generalize the Tower of Hanoi graphs—the graph S(n, 3) is isomorphic to the graph of the Tower of Hanoi with n disks. It is proved that for any n > 2 and any k > 3, λ(S(n, k)) = 2k. To obtain the result (perfect) codes in Sierpinski graphs are studied in detail. In particular a new proof of their (essential) uniqueness is obtained.
