Introducción:Diversos estudios ponen de manifiesto la necesidad de incluir las condiciones físicas del entorno de trabajo en la evaluación de la satisfacción laboral. Sin embargo, esto no ocurre con ...el cuestionario Font-Roja. En este trabajo se introducen 2 ítems que exploran esta dimensión y se mantiene como hipótesis el impacto significativo sobre la evaluación de la satisfacción en el trabajo. Método:Participaron 227 trabajadores que atienden a ancianos. Respondieron al cuestionario Font-Roja de satisfacción laboral, al que se añadieron 2 ítems que exploran el entorno físico de trabajo. Se realizaron análisis factoriales para determinar los diversos componentes de la satisfacción laboral. Para el estudio de la coherencia de escalas y de los ítems añadidos utilizamos el estadístico de Cronbach. Estos métodos se aplican a los 2 cuestionarios, el clásico de 24 ítems y el ampliado de 26. Resultados:El Font-Roja clásico aparece conformado por 8 factores, que explican el 60,02% de la varianza, mientras que el ampliado se estructura en 9 factores, con una varianza explicada del 61,81%. El nuevo factor aparece constituido por los 2 ítems añadidos. La consistencia interna del cuestionario clásico es de α= 0,773, y el del ampliado es de α= 0,791. Discusión:La escala ampliada es superior a la clásica. Los resultados obtenidos abundan en la tesis de que, para el análisis de la satisfacción laboral, los instrumentos deben contener entre sus ítems los que consideran las condiciones físicas del entorno de trabajo.
The purpose of this study was to determine the carriage rate, susceptibility pattern, and serotype distribution of
Streptococcus pneumoniae in the nasopharynx of children younger than 2 years old in ...Lima, Peru. A total of 666 children were evaluated during 3 periods, 1997, 2001, and 2003. The overall pneumococcal carrier rate was 41%. Reduced susceptibility to penicillin was found in 5% (4/75) of isolates in 1997, 20% (15/75) in 2001, and 37% (40/109) in 2003. Reduced susceptibility to ceftriaxone was found in 12% of isolates in 2003. Serogroups 6, 19, 23, 15, and 14 accounted for 68% of all the isolates and for 81% of the penicillin-nonsusceptible strains. Only 65% of the isolated strains had serogroups found in the 7-valent conjugate pneumococcal vaccine. This highlights the importance of regional surveillance studies for effective vaccine strategies and treatment protocols.
Se revisó las historias clínicas de 76 pacientes con tétanos del adulto (> 14 años de edad). Al final, 28 casos (36,8%) fueron leves. 12 (15,85) moderados, 24 (31,6) severos y 12(15,8%) muy severos. ...Las complicaciones más frecuentes fueron neumonía e infección del tracto urinario en 27 casos (35,55) cada una y retención urinaria en 24 (31,6%). El promedio de las dosis máximas de diazepán/día empleadas en los casos severos/muy severos (S/MS) (563 mg/día) estuvo muy por debajo de la recomendada en este hospital (20 mg/kg/día). La letalidad fue de 34,2% (26/76). La letalidad para los casos leves fue 3,6% (1/28), para los moderados 8,3% (10/12), para los muy severos. La letalidad para el grupo S/MS fue 66,7% (24/36). Las causas probables de muerte más frecuentes fueron: infección sobreagregada en 9 (34,659, hiperactividad simpática en 7 (26,9%9 y espasmo no controlado en 5 (23,7%). El número de casos no permitió detectar una diferencia significativa en la letalidad entre los pacientes severos tratados con antitoxina intratecal (25,0%) vs antitoxina sistémica (60,0%); entre los atendidos en la unidad de cuidados intensivos (28,6%) vs otros servicios (64,75); ni entre aquéllos tratados con ventilación mecánica (35,5%) vs sin ella (62,5%).

The claim is made that young people's life at school is a process of finding meaningful Others: other styles, other friends, and the other gender. Faced with options and risks, students also develop reflexivity. These topics are examined in three different scenarios: a general high school that is part of the university system in Mexico City, a technical high school in the metropolitan area, and community intercultural high schools in an indigenous rural zone.

The life of a LiPo battery depends on various factors such as charging methods, battery age, conditions of use, among others. Most of them are inevitable and challenging to prevent. However, the ...charging method can prolong the life span of the batteries, by guaranteeing that all the battery cells are charged to their full capacity. To achieve this objective a balanced load must be performed, such that the current supplied during the charging process follows a specific profile. In this work, a current supply control scheme is proposed for the LiPo battery charging stage, using a Boost type power converter. To ensure a specific current profile, the converter's current must follows a desired trajectory associated with cell balancing. The converter's control is done with a Saturated Super-Twisting Algorithm in its switched version and a Sigma-Delta Modulator. The proposed scheme guarantees the tracking of current in finite-time despite the presence of Lipschitz disturbances. Finally, the proposed strategy is validated by numerical simulation.
This paper presents an experimental Wireless Sensors Network system which aims to contribute to the transformation of a university campus into a living lab to experiment with applications in the ...context of a smart city. The system acquires environmental data related to the campus trees' health, stores it in a server to be analysed and makes it available to be displayed in a mobile application. Details are given to the design and results of the server's system and the MobApp.
