The purpose of this paper is to review the literature on the impact of antidepressants on depressive symptom severity, quality of life (QoL), morbidity, and mortality in patients with heart failure ...(HF).
Following the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines, studies published from December 1969 to December 2019 that pertain to depression and HF were identified through the use of the PubMed and PsycINFO databases, using the keywords: 'antidepressant*' and 'heart failure.' Two authors independently conducted a focused analysis and reached a final consensus on 17 studies that met the specific selection criteria and passed the study quality checks.
Studies varied in types of antidepressants used as well as in study designs. Ten studies were analyzed for the impact of antidepressant medications on depressive symptom severity. Five of these were randomized controlled trials (RCTs), out of which sertraline and paroxetine showed a significant reduction in depressive symptoms despite the small samples utilized. Four of the 17 studies addressed QoL as part of their outcomes showing no difference for escitalopram (RCT), significantly greater improvements for paroxetine controlled release (RCT), statistical significance for sertraline compared to control (pilot study), and showing significant improvement before and after treatment (open-label trial) for nefazodone. Thirteen of the 17 studies included measures of morbidity and mortality. Although early analyses have pointed to an association of antidepressant use and mortality particularly with fluoxetine, the reviewed studies showed no increase in mortality for antidepressants, and secondary analyses showed improved mortality in patients who achieved remission of depressive symptoms.
Out of the various antidepressants studied, which included sertraline, paroxetine, escitalopram, citalopram, bupropion, nefazodone, and nortriptyline, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors seem to be a safe treatment option for patients with depression and HF. However, due to the variety of study designs as well as the mixed results for each antidepressant, more information for reducing depression severity, morbidity, and mortality and improving quality of life in patients with HF should be examined using robust large sample RCTs.

La presente investigación tiene como objetivo realizar la revisión del estado del arte del adobe como material de construcción sostenible y vernáculo. En este sentido la hipótesis se refiere al ...planteamiento de una nueva metodología de elaboración del adobe sostenible donde confluyan las técnicas manuales con las pruebas de laboratorio. Para ello, se realizó un análisis bibliográfico referente al estado del arte de la elaboración adobe en parte de la zona urbano – rural de la ciudad de Riobamba, y su impacto ambiental; además, se describen algunos materiales para estabilización del adobe en la parte introductoria. La segunda parte se refiere, a la propuesta de esta investigación que consiste en el planteamiento de una metodología para elaboración del adobe, partiendo de la adecuada identificación y recolección de las muestras de suelo, y seguidamente realizar las distintas pruebas manuales de campo que permitirán conocer empíricamente la calidad del suelo, mientras que las pruebas de laboratorio físicas, químicas y mineralógicas permitirán científicamente seleccionar el tipo de suelo. Finalmente se exponen los resultados de simular el bloque de tierra y su comportamiento térmico, luego se comparan los resultados simulados y experimentales. Luego de la selección del tipo de suelo, se estableció la Norma peruana E.080 (2017) para la elaboración del bloque de adobe, haciendo énfasis en los beneficios de la estabilización del adobe con fibras naturales. La investigación bibliográfica realizada se espera sirva como modelo metodológico para futuras investigaciones para elaboración del adobe sostenible, considerando que los sistemas constructivos en tierra son parte del patrimonio y saberes ancestrales de la zona andina que se deben recuperar.

AbstractThis research aims to review the state of the art of adobe as a sustainable and vernacular construction material. In this sense, the hypothesis refers to the proposal of a new methodology for the elaboration of sustainable adobe where manual techniques converge with laboratory tests. For this, a bibliographic analysis was carried out regarding the state of the art of adobe production in part of the urban - rural area of Riobamba, and its environmental impact. Furthermore, some materials for adobe stabilization are described in the introductory part. The second part refers to the proposal of this research, which consists of the proposal of a methodology to elaborate adobe, starting from the adequate identification and collection of soil samples, and then carrying out the different manual field tests that will allow to know empirically the quality of the soil. The physical, chemical and mineralogical laboratory tests will lead to a scientific selection of the type of soil. Finally, the results of simulating the earth block and its thermal behavior were shown. After, the simulated and experimental results were compared. After selecting the type of soil, the Peruvian Standard E.080 (2017) was established to elaborate the adobe block, emphasizing on the benefits of stabilizing the adobe with natural fibers. The bibliographic research carried out is expected to serve as a methodological model for future research for the elaboration of sustainable adobe by considering that the construction systems on land are part of the heritage and ancestral knowledge of the Andean area that must be recovered.Keywords Adobe, crafting, natural fibers, lab tests, manual tests.

Taken into account is the presence of new billing mechanisms and potential cost offsets.
The literature referenced in this paper was identified through a search of online databases, including PubMed and Google Scholar. The data used to analyze cost were drawn from national, publicly available sources, such as the Kaiser Family Foundation, Bureau of Labor Statistics, and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development.
Collaborative care is an evidence-based intervention for depression that can aid with successful transition of care as patients move from the inpatient to the outpatient setting. It can be considered cost-effective when treating a panel of patients that falls below the recommended caseload for a single case manager (i.e., 19-46 billed encounters, depending on the payer mix), particularly when considering the savings from a reduced length of stay associated with well-controlled depressive symptoms.
Organizations should consider implementing collaborative care management for patients with depression to improve depression outcomes, reduce costs, and prepare themselves for a health financing environment that rewards value.

: This paper sought to identify the instruments used to measure depression in heart failure (HF) and elucidate the impact of treatment interventions on depression in HF.
The Preferred Reporting Items ...for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses guidelines were followed. Studies published from 1988 to 2018 covering depression and HF were identified through the review of the PubMed and PsycINFO databases using the keywords: "depres*" AND "heart failure." Two authors independently conducted a focused analysis, identifying 27 studies that met the specific selection criteria and passed the study quality checks.
Patient-reported questionnaires were more commonly adopted than clinician-rated questionnaires, including the Beck Depression Inventory, the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9), and the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale. Six common interventions were observed: antidepressant medications, collaborative care, psychotherapy, exercise, education, and other nonpharmacological interventions. Except for paroxetine, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors failed to show a significant difference from placebo. However, the collaborative care model including the use of antidepressants showed a significant decrease in PHQ-9 score after one year. All of the psychotherapy studies included a variation of cognitive behavioral therapy and patients showed significant improvements. The evidence was mixed for exercise, education, and other nonpharmacological interventions.
This study suggests which types of interventions are more effective in addressing depression in heart failure patients.

Along with the increasing demand for lithium-ion batteries (LIB), the need for recycling major components such as graphite and different critical materials contained in LIB is also reaching a peak in ...the research community. Several authors review the different LIB recycling methodologies, including pyro- and hydrometallurgy processes. However, the characteristics, main stages, and achievements of LIB emerging recycling are still missing. This study reviews the diverse emerging approaches for recycling critical materials from spent LIB in the last five years. A classification for emerging recycling technologies is provided, including terms like development stage and eco-friendly status. The main stages of recycling LIB are opening, phase separation, and materials recovery. Among the emerging proposals with the highest industrialization potential are direct recycling techniques due to low costs and simple procedures. Concerning phase separation, froth flotation and ultrasound-assisted methods are discussed. The former divides black mass into pure anodic and cathodic materials, while ultrasonication is employed to physically detach active materials from foils or enhance binder degradation. As to materials recovery, several recent approaches show high recovery efficiency for different elements, mainly in leaching. The use of new organic acids, deep eutectic acids, and some salts are worth noting as leaching agents due to their low environmental impact. In addition, leaching methods assisted by ultrasound and microwave irradiation increase valuable metal recovery, reducing time consumption and the number of leaching reactants. As a part of the hydrometallurgy process, metallic ion purification is performed by solvent extraction and ion exchange, while selective precipitation can be achieved by specific chemical agents or electrochemical processes.
