Using 226 x 10(6) BBoverline events recorded on the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector at the SLAC e(+)e(-) PEP-II storage rings, we reconstruct B(-) ---> D(*0)e(-)nuoverline(e) decays ...using the decay chain D(*0) --> D(0)pi(0) and D(0)-->K(-)pi(+). From the dependence of their differential rate on w, the dot product of the four velocities of B(-) and D(*0), and using the form factor description by Caprini et al. with the parameters F(1) and rhoA(1)(2), we obtain the results rhoA(1)(2) = 1.16+/-0.06+/-0.08, F(1)|V(cb)|=(35.9+/-0.6+/-1.4) x 10(-3), and B(B(-) --> D(*0)e(-)nuoverline(e))=(5.56+/-0.08+/-0.41)%.
We present the structure function ratios F-2(Li)/F-2(D) and F-2(C)/F-2(D) measured in deep inelastic muon-nucleus scattering at a nominal incident muon energy of 200 GeV. The kinematic range 10(-4) ...< x < 0.7 and 0.01 < Q(2) < 70 GeV2 is covered. For value
We present partial branching fractions for inclusive charmless semileptonic B decays Bover -->X_{u}lnuover , and the determination of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element |V_{ub}|. The ...analysis is based on a sample of 383 x 10;{6} Upsilon(4S) decays into BBover pairs collected with the BABAR detector at the SLAC PEP-II e;{+}e;{-} storage rings. We select events using the invariant mass M_{X} of the hadronic system, the invariant mass squared, q;{2}, of the lepton and neutrino pair, the kinematic variable P+, or one of their combinations. We then determine partial branching fractions in limited regions of phase space: DeltaB=(1.18+/-0.09_{stat}+/-0.07_{syst}+/-0.01_{theor})x10;{-3} (M_{X}<1.55 GeV/c;{2}), DeltaB=(0.95+/-0.10_{stat}+/-0.08_{syst}+/-0.01_{theor})x10;{-3} (P+<0.66 GeV/c), and DeltaB=(0.81+/-0.08_{stat}+/-0.07_{syst}+/-0.02_{theor})x10;{-3} (M_{X}<1.7 GeV/c;{2}, q;{2}>8 GeV;{2}/c;{4}). Corresponding values of |V_{ub}| are extracted using several theoretical calculations.
The Q(2) dependence of the structure function ratio F-2(Sn)/F-2(C) for 0.01 < x < 0.75 and 1 < Q(2) < 140 GeV2 is reported. For x < 0.1 the size of shadowing decreases linearly with In ...Q(2) and the maximum rate is about 0.04 at x = 0.01. The rate decrease
We report the observation of the b-->d penguin-dominated decay B;{0}-->K;{*0}Kover ;{*0} with a sample of 383.2+/-4.2 million BBover pairs collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II ...asymmetric-energy e;{+}e;{-} collider at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center. The measured branching fraction is B(B;{0}-->K;{*0}Kover ;{*0})=1.28_{-0.30};{+0.35}+/-0.11x10;{-6} and the fraction of longitudinal polarization is f_{L}(B;{0}-->K;{*0}Kover ;{*0})=0.80_{-0.12};{+0.10}+/-0.06. The first error quoted is statistical and the second systematic. We also obtain an upper limit at the 90% confidence level on the branching fraction for B(B;{0}-->K;{*0}K;{*0})<0.41x10;{-6}.
We present measurements of the semileptonic decays B--->D0tau-nutau, B--->D*0tau-nutau, B0-->D+tau-nutau, and B0-->D*+tau-nutau, which are potentially sensitive to non-standard model amplitudes. The ...data sample comprises 232x10(6) Upsilon(4S)-->BB decays collected with the BABAR detector. From a combined fit to B- and B0 channels, we obtain the branching fractions B(B-->Dtau-nutau)=(0.86+/-0.24+/-0.11+/-0.06)% and B(B-->D*tau-nutau)=(1.62+/-0.31+/-0.10+/-0.05)% (normalized for the B0), where the uncertainties are statistical, systematic, and normalization-mode-related.
Using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 342 fb(-1) collected with the BABAR detector at the SLAC PEP-II electron-positron storage ring operating at a center-of-mass energy ...near 10.58 GeV, we measure B(tau(-)--> pi(-)pi(-)pi+nu(tau)(ex.K(S0))=(8.83+/-0.01+/-0.13)%, B(tau(-) -->K(-)pi(-)pi+nu tau(ex.K(S0))=(0.273+/-0.002+/-0.009)%, B(tau(-) -->K(-)pi(-)K+nu tau)=(0.1346+/-0.0010+/-0.0036)%, and B(tau(-) -->K(-)K(-)K+nu tau)=(1.58+/-0.13+/-0.12)x10;{-5}, where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. These include significant improvements over previous measurements and a first measurement of B(tau(-) -->K(-)K(-)K+nu tau) in which no resonance structure is assumed. We also report a first measurement of B(tau(-) -->var phi(-)nu tau)=(3.42+/-0.55+/-0.25)x10(-5), a new measurement of B(tau(-) -->var phi K(-)nu tau)=(3.39+/-0.20+/-0.28)x10(-5) and a first upper limit on B(tau(-) -->K(-)K(-)K+nu tau(ex.var phi)).
We present measurements of the branching fractions for the decays B;{+/-}-->a_{1};{+/-}(1260)pi;{0} and B;{+/-}-->a_{1};{0}(1260)pi;{+/-} from a data sample of 232x10;{6} BBover pairs produced in ...e;{+}e;{-} annihilation through the Upsilon(4S) resonance. We measure the branching fraction B(B;{+/-}-->a_{1};{+/-}(1260)pi;{0})xB(a_{1};{+/-}(1260)-->pi;{-}pi;{+}pi;{+/-})=(13.2+/-2.7+/-2.1)x10;{-6} with a significance of 4.2sigma, and the branching fraction B(B;{+/-}-->a_{1};{0}(1260)pi;{+/-})xB(a_{1};{0}(1260)-->pi;{-}pi;{+}pi;{0})=(20.4+/-4.7+/-3.4)x10;{-6} with a significance of 3.8sigma, where the first error quoted is statistical and the second is systematic.
