Modern growing urban areas are faced with many problems, among which in the first instance may include the need for management of rainwater. The current system for management of rainwater is ...characterized by considerable inefficiency and ineffective and extremely functional system in the current extreme weather. In the case of an effective design of complex city hydrology, it is necessary to construct rainwater capture objects in the place where the rain falls directly. The consequence of such a process is the subsequent moistening zone and thus directly influencing a cooling urban area. The primary part of the research focuses on mathematical modelling of rainfall-runoff process in the urbanized area of Bratislava. In the framework of the proposal for an effective reduction of the surface runoff, measures will be proposed for the improvement of the hydrological microclimate in the real selected area. Designed objects are used directly for more efficient management of rainwater, and avoid inefficient overloading of sewers.
Urban areas focusing on nature protection are facing many problems. The basic problem of urbanized areas is the management of rainwater. The concentration of pollutants is most problematic in ...rainwater. After the impact of rainfall on surfaces occurs immediate contamination of surface contamination. This pollution is then necessary to clean or somehow arrange prevent their infiltration in groundwater or river network. Such contaminants include heavy metals, for example. In our research, we focus on the analysis of real surface waters regarding their possible infiltration in groundwater. Analysed is the impact of the infiltration objects for groundwater recharge in Bratislava. The result of the research is a final analysis of the suitability of using these regulatory objects on the sewer network together with the design of measures on the selected part of the sewer network of Bratislava. Part of the research work is the creation of a mathematical model of surface runoff which is created in software Sewacad.
The research work is focused on finding extremes in climate changes which are related to rainfall-runoff process at catchment area. Location of our research is set to urban area of Slovak town ...Levice. During the inspections process we have made necessary calibration measurements to correct the identified defects in the project documentation. The main part of the research is evaluating the impact of rainwater to the sewerage system using block rain with selected periodicity, taking into account impact of proposed solutions for management of rainwater in the area. Evaluation of existing sewerage network was handled at periodicity levels p = 0,5; p = 0,05. The results show that climate change has high level of impact on the rainfall runoff. Even with a rain with periodicity of p = 0,5; i.e. rain that occurs once in per 2 years, we have identified specific points in the sewerage network unable to fulfill its function without extensive stress.

, supported by field measurement data, which was gathered on two separate occasions in July 2015 and February 2016 at the sedimentation tank during operation. Three parameters were collected in 400 measurement points throughout the tank. During the research we analysed the data, looking for correlation with the CFD simulation to verify the results and correlations between the winter and summer period to determine the influence of varying temperatures.

The paper is analyzing sludge management of the existing wastewater treatment plant Nitra -Dolné Krškany. In our research we are analyzed these main parameters: concentrations of heavy metals and nutrients, microbiological parameters and the quantity of sludge. The paper analyses the calendar year 2015 and also evaluates the impact of seasonality during the different months.

Changing climatic conditions in urbanized areas enormously impact the quality of life in urbanized areas. Persistent prolonged dry periods, extreme downpours with heavy heaviness or prolonged ...rainfall are an extreme problem for effective water management in cities. Extreme weather changes also risk the environment when infiltrating or relieving highly contaminated water from the first run-off. These wastewaters are a potential source of groundwater and surface water pollution in which various pollutants are concentrated. In our research, we focus on evaluating water quality from surface run-off with an emphasis on concentrations of micropollutants. The analyses aim to assess concentrations of heavy metals, microplastics, and other pollutants in surface run-off concerning recipient water quality and groundwater quality. The research focuses on evaluating the current state of stormwater management in urbanized areas with a focus on the spread of pollution and the possibility of capturing such contaminated water with subsequent disposal to a wastewater treatment plant.
Secretory carcinoma (SC) is a relatively recently described salivary gland adenocarcinoma characterized by ETV6‐NTRK3 gene fusion and, in most cases, indolent clinical behavior. Morphologically, the ...tumor shows a glandular architecture and the presence of monophasic tumor cells with vacuolated cytoplasm, low‐grade nuclear atypia, and mucin production, with possibly a tubular, papillary, or cystic arrangement. In this article, we describe a case of a 52‐year old man with SC involving a neck lymph node clinically manifesting as a slowly growing cystic neck mass without recent proof of the primary tumor, but with a history of a parotid gland “cystadenopapilloma,” which had been removed 35 years prior. A fine‐needle aspiration biopsy revealed a diagnosis of SC. Subsequent histopathological examination after lymph node dissection confirmed the diagnosis. The tumor showed typical features of SC, including immunohistochemical positivity for NTRK and NTRK3 gene rearrangement, detected using in situ hybridization. We discuss that the tumor may be a late metastasis occurring 35 years after resection of undiagnosed salivary SC or a primary SC arising from heterotopic salivary tissue within a lymph node. Differential diagnostic considerations and review of relevant literature are included.
