A practical multiuser cooperative transmission scheme denoted as
Virtual Maximum Ratio Transmission
(VMRT) for multiple-input multiple-output-orthogonal frequency division multiple access ...(MIMO-OFDMA) relay-based networks is proposed and evaluated in the presence of a realistic channel estimation algorithm and using low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes. It is shown that this scheme is robust against channel estimation errors. It offers diversity and array gain, keeping the complexity low with a multiuser and multiantenna channel estimation algorithm that is simple and efficient. In addition, the combination with LDPC codes provides improved gains; diversity gains larger than 6 dB can be easily obtained with a reduced number of relays. Thus, this scheme can be used to extend coverage or increase system throughput by using simple cooperative OFDMA-based relays.

In this paper we propose a simple, yet flexible and efficient, channel estimator for the uplink in broadband orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. The processing is performed in ...the time-domain, by extracting the Channel’s Impulse Response (CIR) for each user from a joint training signal. In this OFDM system, the pilot sequence we advocate, where all users share the same pilot sub-carriers, consists of one OFDM-symbol endowed with time-shifted properties per user, which isolates each user’s CIR and is robust against multi-user interference. The feasibility of our approach is substantiated by system simulation results obtained using BRAN-A broadband mobile wireless channel model.
Code diversity using space-time block codes was developed for single-carrier and single-receiver systems. In this paper, the extension of code diversity by phase rotation to multi-user and ...multi-carrier systems is proposed and analyzed. We show that code diversity with reduced feedback is possible in this new scenario and the coding gain has a mild logarithmic decrease with the number of users and the number of sub-carriers. In addition, we develop an analytical upper bound for the average error probability whose accuracy is verified by simulation.
In this paper, a novel and practical transmission scheme for a Multiple Input Multiple Output–Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (MIMO-OFDMA) relay-based network is proposed and evaluated. ...We coin the term
Virtual Maximum Ratio Transmission
(VMRT) for the scheme which obtains diversity and array gain at both links in a two-hop transmission, while keeping the complexity low. Besides, the requirements of Channel State Information needed at the different network elements such as the Base Station, Relay Station or User Terminals are also limited, and so the feedback. The obtained global performance by using proposed VMRT outperforms other schemes. Diversity gains larger than 6 can be easily obtained with a reduced number of relays. For this reason, VMRT is a good candidate to achieve high speed transmission or increase coverage and reliability in slow varying channels for relay-based networks.
Promising technologies are being investigated to integrate them into the fifth generation (5G) and beyond mobile network systems. The main goal of these technologies is to evolve cellular networks ...that will significantly stress forward the limit of legacy network systems through all dimensions performance metrics. Some of the most potential key enabler technologies are millimeter waves (mmWave), massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) and small cells (SC) systems. These sets of technologies will dramatically increase the network throughput, enhance the spectral and energy efficiency, increase the network capacity and improve the network coverage by using the joint capabilities of the huge available bandwidth in mmWave frequencies while achieving high multiplexing gains through the extreme antenna arrays gains and achieving full coverage network by network densification through small cells. In this paper we present a detailed overview of millimeter wave, massive MIMO, small cells, channel estimation, beamforming technology, signal processing techniques in mmWave, beyond 5G systems, challenges and future research trends.
In the Beyond-5G (B5G) and sixth generation (6G), several advanced techniques are based on high-frequency millimeter-wave wireless communications. This paper proposes the design of a novel B5G and 6G ...wireless radio access network (RAN) architecture. This architecture aims to be a key enabling factor for significantly increasing network capacity, promoting the deployment of new services, and integrating with the evolution of the previous cellular wireless access network architecture. Furthermore, the proposed architecture is adaptable to the various characteristics of high-frequency millimeter-wave communication. It leverages on the allocation of each layer resources of the different networks for more efficient deployment.
In this paper the use of complementary Golay sequences (CGS) for peak-to-average power ratio (PAR) reduction and forward error correction (FEC) in an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing ...(OFDM)-based wireless local area network (WLAN) system is explored; performance is examined and complexity issues are analyzed. We study their PAR reduction performance depending on sequence lengths and we have found that, for the case that the number of sub-carriers differs from the sequence length, some interesting relationships can still be stated. Regarding their error correction capabilities, these sequences are investigated considering M-PSK constellations applied to the OFDM signal specified in IEEE 802.11a standard. Computational load for both Golay encoding and decoding processes is addressed and we provide an exhaustive analysis of their complexity. In order to overcome memory restrictions and speed up algorithmic operations, a novel algorithm for real-time generation of the Golay Base Sequences is proposed and evaluated giving as a conclusion that these sequences can be real-time generated with actual Digital Signal Processors (DSP). Our proposal lies on an efficient permutation algorithm that obtains the current permutation without the need for generating previous ones. Its complexity is calculated and turns out to be significantly low; the advantages are specially appreciated at the decoding stage. We also introduce a hybrid solution to get a trade-off between complexity and memory requirements. Moreover, the whole system is also implemented in a DSP to validate the proposal in a prototype, where its feasibility has been confirmed.
The issue of complex sources, difficult to understand and share security threat intelligence, this paper realizes deep learning of threat intelligence features based on Restricted Boltzmann Machine, ...which graphs the original threat intelligence features from high dimensional space to low dimensional space layer by layer, and constructs the cyberspace security threat knowledge graphs. The deep learning used to build a multi-level and structured knowledge graph of cyberspace security threats can reflect the structural characteristics of the knowledge graph, making the graph have a lower dimension and a higher level of abstraction. The experiment verifies the feasibility of constructing the cyberspace security threat knowledge graph, and verifies the security threat perception method based on the knowledge graph is more suitable for the perception of high-intensity security threats by comparing with traditional threat detection methods.
