This article discusses the concept of dolus alternativus as a specific form of criminal behaviour, from the aspect of the theory of concurrence in criminal law. The main hypothesis is refereed to its ...qualification in regard to different manifestations of the cumulation of offences, particularly ideal concurrence. In the case of so called "alternative intent", the element of mens rea is materialized through existence of two intents directed towards two different criminal offences, mutually excluded, but equally wanted by the offender, who shows indifference to the fact which of the predicted consequences shall occur. In such circumstances, the imputation of criminal act is faced with different doctrinal approaches to the problem. First of all, it should be emphasized that practical variations of the legal concept defined above, require specific treatment, that results in choosing between ideal and apparent concurrence, which may lead to different penal consequences, depending on the rules of the penalty determination in a specific legal system. Therefore, unlike German penal law, where the legal treatment of concurrence leads to reducing practical relevance of the differentiation between ideal and apparent cumulation of offences, the rules of the Serbian Criminal code impose the opposite, which results in increased significance of choosing one or another solution for the case of dolus alternativus.
The philosophy of independent living of the elderly is so clear and concrete that its basic principles only need to be followed and adjusted to the modern way of life, especially on insisting on the ...use of information technologies that can be included in the implementation of home care with the social support of the family and the community. Modern approach to health care must not allow the elderly to be passive recipients of health care, but people who can control their lives with the application of information technology. The main goal of the application of information technologies is the acquisition of knowledge in the field of informatics and assistive technologies in order to contribute to a greater degree of participation of the elderly in daily activities, health care, social activities, communication, exchange of experiences related to diseases and entertainment and recreation. In addition to health care, information technology also ensures overcoming the increasingly pronounced social isolation of the elderly.
The text deals with the analysis of the doctrine of neoliberalism as the dominant political-economic direction of a modern capitalist society. The paper first points to the meaning of the term ...itself, taking into account the numerous specificities and contradictions that this direction brings with it. An analysis of the works of the most significant representatives of neoliberal thought attempts to determine the basic values and principles governing neoliberal theorists, and whether neoliberalism can be considered the successor to classical liberalism or if it is a completely new direction in the development of economic thought. It pointed to the historical circumstances that led to the seemingly forgotten policy of economic liberalism becoming the mainstay of economic science in the 1980s. Also, the policy of neo-liberalism has had its practical operationalization, first in Latin American countries, but above all in the United States and Great Britain, where it is also known as "reganomics" or "Thatcherism". The transition of post-socialist economies has emerged as a major issue at the end of the last century, with a considerable number of countries approaching this problem in line with the recommendations of international financial institutions and programs based on the principles of neoliberalism. In this regard, the paper analyzes the main values of the neoliberal trend, as well as the historical circumstances that led to neoliberalism becoming the dominant socio-economic doctrine.
This paper analyses the applicability of well-known risk management methodologies in energy efficiency projects in the industry. The possibilities of application of the selected risk management ...methodology are demonstrated within the project of the plants for injecting pulverized coal into blast furnaces nos. 1 and 2, implemented by the company US STEEL SERBIA d.o.o. in Smederevo. The aim of the project was to increase energy efficiency through the reduction of the quantity of coke, whose production requires large amounts of energy, reduction of harmful exhaust emission and increase productivity of blast furnaces through the reduction of production costs. The project was complex and had high costs, so that it was necessary to predict risk events and plan responses to identified risks at an early stage of implementation, in the course of the project design, in order to minimize losses and implement the project in accordance with the defined time and cost limitations.
Say (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae: Bruchinae), is one of the most important pests of the common bean
L. Without appropriate management it may cause significant seed loss in storages. In search for means ...of environmentally safe and effective protection of beans we assessed biological activity of thymol, an oxygenated monoterpene present in essential oils of many aromatic plants. We studied contact toxicity of thymol on bean seeds and its effects on adult longevity and emergence in F1 generation. Furthermore, we determined acetylcholinesterase (AChE), superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), mixed-function oxidase (MFO), carboxylesterases (CarE) and glutathione S-transferase (GST) activities in response to 24 h exposure of beetles to sublethal and lethal thymol concentrations. Our results showed that thymol decreased adult survival, longevity and percentage of adult emergence. Higher median lethal concentration (LC
) was recorded in females indicating their higher tolerance comparing to males. Overall, activities of SOD, CAT and CarE increased at sublethal and MFO increased at both sublethal and lethal thymol concentrations. On the other hand, GST and AChE activities decreased along with the increase in thymol concentrations from sublethal (1/5 of LC
, 1/2 of LC
) to lethal (LC
). Enzyme responses to the presence of thymol on bean seed were sex-specific. In the control group females had lower CarE and higher SOD, CAT and GST activity than males. In treatment groups, females had much higher CAT activity and much lower CarE activity than males. Our results contribute to deeper understanding of physiological mechanisms underlying thymol toxicity and tolerance which should be taken into account in future formulation of a thymol-based insecticide.

In times of crisis, such as public health emergency, military conflict or natural disaster, health systems face immense pressures. Large-scale crises continue to appear at irregular intervals and ...healthcare facilities should be prepared to react quickly and flexibly to the increased need for treatment and care. This paper aims to outline key concepts related to healthcare architecture during a mass-scale crisis, discuss challenges, and suggest solutions. Although the field lacks robust research evidence, lessons learned from past and ongoing events clearly indicate that advance planning is essential for effective crisis response. The crisis response has three guiding principles -adaptability, flexibility, and creativity. The interventions can focus on adapting existing healthcare facilities, building new units, and repurposing civil facilities for hospitals. A wide range of building typologies can be utilised, including modular containers, tents, lightweight structures, and repurposing civil buildings and public spaces. These interventions must be quick, economic, durable, and easily deployable. Temporary facilities must ensure an effective spatial platform for patients and staff, establish links with existing services, and consider post-crisis life of interventions. While these principles can be considered for any type of healthcare facility and any type of crisis, end-results will depend on baseline infrastructure and available resources.
The nineteenth-century greenhouses in the garden of Villa Cicogna Mozzoni are abandoned and dilapidated. Three greenhouses investigated for the research named A, B and C are positioned one above the ...other on the hill of the garden. They are historical examples of iron and glass structures with masonry walls leaning against the ground. They have undergone numerous modifications over time, as evidenced by archival documents. To create a preservation project for their reuse, bibliographical research was first collected. Secondly, direct and indirect surveys were carried out. The technical drawings were produced on a 1:50 scale using point clouds, orthophotos, sketches and direct measurements. Given the nature of the glass material of which these buildings are predominantly made, it was necessary to process the data obtained with the laser scanner and clean created noise points. Seemingly simple structures, greenhouses are complex buildings that require careful studies of humidity, temperature, irrigation, light and materials. For the presentation of different systems in the greenhouses, colour-coded thematical drawings were created. Detailed drawings on a 1:20 scale examine the iron fixtures and manual mechanical system of the windows. Other characteristics were presented in the drawings, such as internal and external movements and communications between greenhouses. The survey and documentation were done to serve for the reuse project which aims to bring back the shine to these greenhouses so that they can be revitalised for botanical and educational activities.
