When cultivating Fusarium bulbigenum var. blasticola on the synthetic Rider media on the primary colonies tumour-like formations appear which are autonomous nondifferentiated cells. They display the ...resemblance with the real tumours in the following signs: differentiation, polymorphism, unlimited self-maintainance, aerobic glycolysis, etc. It is shown that under conditions of hypoxia, corresponding to the altitude of 2000-1000 m above sea-level the frequency of tumour-like formations decreases by 9-66% as compared to the cultivation conditions at pO2 of atmospheric air.
Time-resolved optical measurements in (110)-oriented GaAs/AlGaAs quantum wells show a ten-fold increase of the spin-relaxation rate as a function of applied electric field from 20 to 80 kV cm-1 at ...170 K and indicate a similar variation at 300 K, in agreement with calculations based on the Rashba effect. Spin relaxation is almost field-independent below 20 kV cm-1 reflecting quantum well interface asymmetry. The results indicate the achievability of voltage-gateable spin-memory time longer than 3 ns simultaneously with high electron mobility.
Under observation were 6 children, aged from 1 to 14 years, with destructive cholecystitis complicated with biliary peritonitis. All patients were subjected to surgery with favourable issues.
