Time-resolved optical measurements in (110)-oriented GaAs/AlGaAs quantum
wells show a ten-fold increase of the spin-relaxation rate as a function of
applied electric field from 20 to 80 kV cm-1 at ...170 K and indicate a similar
variation at 300 K, in agreement with calculations based on the Rashba effect.
Spin relaxation is almost field-independent below 20 kV cm-1 reflecting quantum
well interface asymmetry. The results indicate the achievability of
voltage-gateable spin-memory time longer than 3 ns simultaneously with high
electron mobility.
A method for obliteration of the gallbladder, based on its mucoclasis with phenol preparations, was developed in experiments on unbred dogs. The safety of using preparations based on phenol for ...chemical demucosation of the gallbladder is demonstrated. The suggested method may serve as a prototype for the development of similar interventions in clinical practice in acute cholecystitis and cholelithiasis after endoscopic cholecystostomy and cholecystolithoextraction. The method was used in clinical practice in 3 patients with acute calculous cholecystitis and severe concomitant pathology and a high operative-anesthesiological risk.
The results of treatment of 76 patients with various diseases of the lungs complicated by hemorrhage are analysed. A complex of diagnostic and therapeutic measures were applied in a certain order, ...including bronchoscopy with temporary occlusion of the bronchi, bronchial arteriography with acute embolization of the bronchial artery. Hemorrhage was arrested in 73 patients with the use of such tactics, in 48 of them an economical operative intervention was carried out.

The results of dynamic serologic monitoring of patients have demonstrated high efficacy of the therapeutic method used.
