At early stages of carcinogenesis, the regulatory regions of some tumor suppressor genes become aberrantly methylated at RCGY sites, which are substrates of DNA methyltransferase Dnmt3. ...Identification of aberrantly methylated sites in tumor DNA is considered to be the first step in the development of epigenetic PCR test systems for early diagnosis of cancer. Recently, we have developed a GLAD-PCR assay, a method for detecting the R(5mC)GY site in the genome position of interest even at significant excess of DNA molecules with a non-methylated RCGY site in this location. The aim of the present work is to use the GLAD-PCR assay to detect the aberrantly methylated R(5mC)GY sites in the regulatory regions of tumor suppressor genes (brinp1, bves, cacna2d3, cdh11, cpeb1, epha7, fgf2, galr1, gata4, hopx, hs3st2, irx1, lrrc3b, pcdh10, rprm, runx3, sfrp2, sox17, tcf21, tfpi2, wnt5a, zfp82, and znf331) in DNA samples obtained from gastric cancer (GC) tissues. The study of the DNA samples derived from 29 tumor and 25 normal gastric tissue samples demonstrated a high diagnostic potential of the selected RCGY sites in the regulatory regions of the irx1, cacna2d3, and epha7 genes; the total indices of sensitivity and specificity for GC detection being 96.6% and 100%, respectively.
Our multidisciplinary petrologic, mineralogical, and geochemical studies of volcanic material sampled from three chronologically discrete, but successive, ash discharges during the period from ...November 30, 2020 to January 18, 2021 were concerned with grain-size inhomogeneity, chemical and mineral phase composition, the concentrations of trace elements, the isotopy of Sr, Nd, and carbon, and with the composition of inorganic and organic lithogenic gases. For the first time volcanic ashes were found to contain eskolaite, mantle spinellids of the magnetite–magnesioferrite composition, hybrid compounds of Ca–Zn-carbonates with titanium formate, and polycomponent metallo-organic compounds. The net result was to obtain proof of a mantle–asthenosphere origin of the ash material and to identify a previously unknown pattern consisting in a conjugate temporal orderliness in the variations of many properties in the material sampled from the explosions. This seems to reflect the evolution of the melt in the mantle magma chamber.
A new system for measuring the position of the beam in a pulsed transport channel from the VEPP-3 storage ring to the VEPP-4M collider is discussed, which provides measurement of the position and ...intensity of an electron or positron beam in one span. For reliable operation of the experimental complex, it is necessary to continuously monitor the beam trajectory in a non-destructive manner, as well as to measure the possible losses of the beam charge. In 2018, new sensors and new electronics of the beam position measurement system were developed, manufactured, and installed in the transportation channel, which provide much greater accuracy compared to the old system. In the new system, it was possible to almost completely eliminate interference and to achieve measurement accuracy better than 0.02 mm, which is more than enough for optimal tuning of the channel optics and achieving high bypass efficiency. The design of the sensor, the structure and the main features of the construction of electronics are described, the accuracy of measurements is analyzed, and some results of the operation of the new system in the channel are given.
The present paper investigates the problem of mechanisms of the development of the effect of mental set, which is at the core of the processes of the implicit learning, development of the experience ...and solving creative tasks. As such mechanisms we investigate the change of the parameters of functioning of executive control and working memory subsystems. As a result of an experimental study, based on modified tasks by A. Luchins, it was found that mechanisms of the development of the effect of mental set have a systematic nature and include such factors as the change of the parameters of the executive functions and the specifics of the processing and storage of information in modality-specific blocks of the working memory. The role of the executive control is dual: it is necessary for keeping in the sphere of the attention the operations during their automatization, and at the same it, it makes the automatized scheme conscient by destructing the developed effect of the mental set. The executive control plays a role of the element which sets the structure of mechanisms of the development and overcoming of the mental set effect. Processes which proceed during the information processing in working memory subsystems also play an important role in the development of the mental set effect, however their nature requires supplementary research.
В настоящей работе рассматривается проблема механизмов формирования и снятия эффекта серии (mental set), лежащего в основе процессов имплицитного научения, формирования экспертного опыта и преодоления тупика в процессе решения творческих задач. В качестве таких механизмов рассматривается изменение параметров функционирования управляющего контроля и процессов в подчиненных системах рабочей памяти. В результате экспериментального исследования, проведенного на материале модифицированных задач А. Лачинса, показано, что механизмы возникновения эффекта серии имеют системную природу и включают в себя такие факторы, как изменение параметров управляющего контроля и специфика обработки и хранения информации в модально-специфических блоках рабочей памяти. Роль управляющего контроля двояка: он необходим для удержания в сфере внимания операций в процессе их автоматизации, и он же, выводя в сознание автоматизированную схему, разрушает сформированный эффект серии (mental set). Управляющий контроль выполняет роль системообразующего элемента в структуре механизмов формирования и преодоления эффекта серии. Процессы, протекающие при переработке информации в подчиненных системах рабочей памяти, также играют важную роль в возникновении эффекта серии, однако их природа и специфика действия нуждаются в дополнительном исследовании и уточнении.
This paper reports the first multidisciplinary petrologic, mineralogical, and geochemical studies of the near-crater tephra discharged by the 1669 catastrophic eruption of Etna stratovolcano, Sicily. ...We studied the grain-size distribution, chemical and mineral-phase composition of the tephra. We determined the composition of trace elements and the composition of encapsulated lithogenic gases. Etna is classified as an intraplate volcano with a deep-seated magma chamber. Of special importance is the fact that the Etnean products were found to contain volcanogenic organoids that have phase, elemental, and isotope compositions similar to the organoids encountered in diamond-bearing products discharged by some Kamchatka volcanoes. This corroborates out earlier inference that carbonaceous abiogenesis is ubiquitous in the conditions of onshore volcanism.
The authors studied modern gas manifestations spatially associated with the ore deposits in the Kaitbinskaya lithological-facies zone of the Yenisei Ridge. The purpose of the research is to ...obtain scientifically based data on the genesis of gaseous and vaporous fluids in various sampling environments of the Vostochny open-pit mine of the Olympiadinskoye gold deposit: rocks, natural waters, free-flowing gases from blastholes and air of the surface atmosphere. It has been conducted a complex of field and analytical works including degassing, gas chromatography, pyrolysis of the organic substance of lithified and metamorphosed deposits, analysis of carbon isotopic composition in carbon dioxide and methane in fluidal systems. In order to study normal gas-geochemical field (natural background) of the work area an atmospheric geochemical survey was carried out at the reference site – an “environmentally friendly” site with the minimal influence of technogenic factors. It has been determined that the surface atmosphere of the site had been formed due to the landscape and geomorphological conditions of the Kaitbinskaya lithological-facies zone as well as fluidal systems of deep horizons. The latter, due to the presence of an extensive network of disruptive disturbances and diffusion-filtration processes of mass transfer reached the zone of exploratory geochemical sounding. The conducted pyrolytic studies of rocks have proved that within the open section of the Vostochny open-pit mine the organic substance of the Kordinskaya series of the lower Riphean deposits has implemented its oil and gas generation potential and cannot serve the formation source of abnormal gas fields of the Olympiadinskoye gold deposit. The studied gas systems are polygenic in nature and, being allochthonous to the host sediments, are formed without the participation of gases from the upper generating (bio) zone. According to isotope-geochemical criteria, these are mainly endogenous and naphthidogenic fluids identical to the gas condensate accumulations of the Yurubcheno-Tokhomskaya oil and gas accumulation zone.
Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Service (BHRS) is a comprehensive service for Pennsylvania’s Medicaid-enrolled youth and their families. In 2021, BHRS transitioned to Intensive Behavioral Health ...Service (IBHS) through state-wide policy change. To assess impact, the largest behavioral health managed care organization in the state compared service utilization in BHRS in 2019 versus IBHS in 2021. Results show that significantly more youth received non-Applied Behavior Analysis (non-ABA) services in BHRS (n = 13,795) than IBHS (n = 10,083) and more youth were discharged during the measurement period for BHRS versus IBHS (47% vs. 44%). Significantly more youth received ABA through IBHS versus BHRS (n = 4,385 vs. n = 2,690). The number of youth served in therapeutic service in IBHS did not indicate improved access during this first year of transition; however, more youth received evidence based treatments through IBHS indicating higher quality care for some youth and families.
The product of the electronic width of the $\psi(2S)$ meson and the branching
fraction of its decay to the muon pair was measured in the $e^{+}e^{-} \to
\psi(2S) \to \mu^{+}\mu^{-}$ process using ...nine data sets corresponding to an
integrated luminosity of about 6.5 pb$^{-1}$ collected with the KEDR detector
at the VEPP-4M electron-positron collider: \
\Gamma_{ee}\times\mathcal{B}_{\mu\mu} = 19.3 \pm 0.3 \pm 0.5 ~\text{eV}. \
Adding the previous KEDR results on hadronic and leptonic channels, the values
of the $\psi(2S)$ electronic width were obtained under two assumptions: either
with the assumption of lepton universality \ \Gamma_{ee} = 2.279 \pm 0.015 \pm
0.042 ~\text{keV} \ or without it, summing up hadronic and three independent
leptonic channels: \ \Gamma_{ee} = 2.282 \pm 0.015 \pm 0.042 ~\text{keV}. \
We present the analysis of all KEDR data on the determination of J/ψ and ψ(2S) masses. The data comprise six scans of J/ψ and seven scans of ψ(2S) which were performed at the VEPP-4M e+e− collider in ...2002–2008. The beam energy was determined using the resonance depolarization method. The detector and accelerator conditions during scans were very different that increases the reliability of the averaged results. The analysis accounts for partial correlations of systematic uncertainties on the masses. The following mass values were obtained:MJ/ψ=3096.900±0.002±0.006 MeV,Mψ(2S)=3686.099±0.004±0.009 MeV. These results supersede our previous measurements published in 2003 and 2012.
