This paper shows that the population increased in non-dividing zoning urban planning area before where urban development was not assumed, by analyzing the population change of local conurbation area. ...Then we clarified that the non-dividing zoning urban planning area shows increase of population, in contrast unused land of the central city increases, where dividing zoning is introduced, by case study of Toyama conurbation area. In addition, it proposed the ideal way of the land use zoning of local conurbation area.
This study clarified the cycling courses and bicyclists' perception of riding in the central area of Kanazawa City. We conducted surveys of bicycle and pedestrian counts as well as the bicycle use of ...the local high school students. The effects of adding “Bicycle-Running-Guidance-Belt” were also verified by analyzing the association between cycling experience of this belt and the perception of bicycle use. Bicycle accidents of the central area were further analyzed to reveal issues for developing the bicycle-friendly city
Heteronuclear Bi1-xLaxFe(CN)6.nH2O complexes were synthesised, and their crystal structures and thermal decomposition process were investigated by XRD, TGA, AES with SEM, and TEM. The crystal system ...of the complexes was both orthorhombic (n = 4 for x = 0-0.7) and hexagonal (n = 5 for x = 1.0). Their mixture was confirmed for x = 0.8 and 0.9. The lattice parameters for the orthorhombic phase increased with increasing value of x for the complexes. The single phase of trimetallic perovskite-type Bi1-xLaxFeO3 was obtained by thermal decomposition at low temperature. The crystal system was hexagonal for BiFeO3 (x = 0) and orthorhombic for x = 0.1-1.0. In the case of the decomposed perovskite sample, the lattice parameters decreased with increasing x values for Bi1-xLaxFeO3. The particle size was about 30 nm for Bi0.2La0.8FeO3 obtained by thermal decomposition at 500 C and it grew with an increase in decomposition temperature. For the Bi0.5La0.5FeO3, AES showed that the elemental distributions of Bi, La, and Fe on the surface were very homogeneous for the sample decomposed at 700 C. 23 refs.
We have investigated whether ultrasound changes our audible impressions when we listen to music or not. To solve this question, we verify that there might be a mechanism perceiving ultrasound by a ...physiological pre-experiment, and review discrepancy in subjective estimations for two kinds of sounds played back with and without ultrasound by a psychological experiment. In this paper, we study whether we can distinguish between the two of those sounds by subjective estimations or not by using discriminant analysis in multivariate analysis technique. As a result, we discriminated those two kinds of sounds with a high rate on drum music. This result suggests that ultrasound affects our audible impressions when we listen to music.
This paper proposes a contents-oriented cognitive network architecture as post-Internet. This architecture consists of three layers, that is, physical, semantic and application layers. Fluency ...function approximation-based unified coding of multimedia is one of key technologies. In semantic layer, both of cognitive function which corresponds to ldquointuition functionrdquo, that is, ldquopattern recognitionrdquo and logical processing are implemented. A contents-overlay, which consists of same kinds of contents based on the criterion of contents-similarity, can be formed. The unified coding of multimedia is effective for not only explosion of information but energy saving. Moreover, contents-overlay is effective for SPAM and for lightening the burden on network administrators.
This paper analyzes the trend of urban expansion of local central cities through population change and urban development achievement and clarifies that there is discrepancy between planning ...assumption of urbanization and actual condition in suburban residential area, through analysis of population change and land use transformation. In the case study of suburban residential area of Kanazawa city, the Land Readjustment Project Area (LRPA) shows the decrease of population and the delay of urbanization, in contrast non-LRPA shows increase of population and the progress of urbanization.
In the study on sports image classification, the characteristics of human pose increasingly raise concerns of researchers. However, the same posture for human may be resulted from different scenes ...and scene objects that express diverse action states and meanings. Thus, combination of human pose and event scenes shall be considered so as to improve performance of sports image classification. In recent years, spatial pyramid matching (SPM) has attracted more and more attentions on the field of natural scene categories. Moreover, the high accuracy in image retrieval and image classification has been shown in multiple works. However, SPM can merely consider the absolute locations of the visual words in images. Hence, this paper attempts to take spatial pyramid matching as the basic idea, and combines with Visual Words Spatial Dependence Matrices that describes the relative spatial information. As shown in the experimental results, classification accuracy of the proposed method is improved by approximately 19% compared with SPM, and superior to some other improved SPM methods in the sports image classification.
