U radu se analiziraju promjene u radijusu utjecaja najvažnijih hrvatskih gradova u odnosu na stanje prije 1992. godine te se procjenjuje kako bi to moglo utjecati na eventualno mijenjanje ...teritorijalnog ustroja. Kao osobito važni procesi koji utječu na porast ili pad privlačnosti istaknuti su pad broja stanovnika većine gradova u posljednjih dvadesetak godina uz istodobno poboljšanje njihove prometne dostupnosti. Radi utvrđivanja privlačne snage gradova analizirane su promjene u teritorijalnom ustroju sudske vlasti, sustavu zdravstvene zaštite i visokog obrazovanja, a vodilo se računa i o nekim specifičnim pokazateljima kao što su prostorni raspored velikih trgovačkih centara i multipleks kina. Na temelju istraživanja zaključuje se da postojeći upravnoteritorijalni ustroj Hrvatske usprkos određenim nedostacima nije nužno radikalno mijenjati, već da je umjesto toga potrebno ustrojiti ekonomske i statističke regije bez upravnih ovlasti, posebice oko većih urbanih središta.
This paper analyses changes in the radius of influence of the most important Croatian cities in relation to the situation before 1992 and estimates how it could affect possible change of territorial ...organization. The decline of the population in most cities in the last twenty years and improvement of their transport accessibility are highlighted as particularly important processes that affect the growth or decline in their attractiveness. For the purpose of determination of the attractive power of cities, changes in the territorial organization of the judicial power, health care and education at university level were analysed, as well as some specific indicators, such as spatial distribution of large shopping malls and multiplex cinemas. Based on research, it is concluded that the existing administrative-territorial structure of Croatia does not need a radical change in spite of certain shortcomings. Instead of that, it is necessary to establish economic and statistical regions without administrative authority, especially in areas around large urban agglomerations.
Space as a resource is intensively used both by the tourism and the local community. Therefore the state of the tourism development must be measured trough time, along with attitudes of local ...population, to determine the impacts and the pressure that can continues tourism development cause. In the 1990s, tourism becomes the motor of the development of Croatia, which has resulted in continues increase of the number of tourist beds. On the other hand population of the Croatia is experiencing the demographic extinction. To explain pressures of the tourism development on the decreasing community, tourism function index was used in comparison with the research of the attitudes of local population considering tourism impacts. The main objective of this paper is to determine the correlation between the increase in the number of tourists and changes in the life of local population, which arises from the tourism activities in destinations, as well as from the ratio of the number of residents and tourists. The attitudes analysis has shown high level of the negative impacts of tourism in seven Adriatic counties, while in continental parts of Croatia tourism is seen as an activity with mostly positive effects. Still tourism has generally positive impact on the destination and is seen as desirable activity, even in areas with relatively high tourism function index. Accordingly, to enhance the positive impacts it is essential to diminish extremely big differences in tourism development between too developed coastal areas and mainly neglected continental part of the country and to reduce seasonality of tourism, trough sustainable management and diversification of tourism offer in accordance with spatial disparities.
Rad se bavi usporedbom teritorijalnog ustroja Hrvatske s ustrojem u drugim europskim zemljama s naglaskom na geografskim aspektima, u prvom redu prostornom obuhvatu i broju stanovnika upravnih ...jedinica. U uvodnom se dijelu nakon pregleda recentnih radova na ovu temu daje analitički osvrt na aktualnu teritorijalnu podjelu na županije, gradove i općine te na nekadašnju podjelu na zajednice općina i tzv. „velike” općine. Slijedi pregled teritorijalnog ustroja u europskim zemljama i usporedba s Hrvatskom, s naglaskom na nužnost dovođenja teritorijalnog ustroja u vezu s veličinom i brojem stanovnika pojedine države. U zaključnom su dijelu rada prijedlozi administrativne podjele Hrvatske temeljeni na prostornoj distribuciji stanovništva i glavnih urbanih središta te najboljoj praksi u Europi.

Bicyclism has lately become increasingly popular as an activity in which bicycle is used not only as a means of transport, but also as a tourist activity, and a type of recreation useful for human ...health and considerably environment-friendlier than the use of motor vehicles. This has influenced the process of arranging an ever increasing number of marked and unmarked cyclotourist routes on the existing roads with less traffic in motor vehicles, as well as establishing special bicyclist tracks along the existing roads, and separate bicyclist paths and roads intended for bicyclists only. Particularly popular among them are abandoned railway tracks, which are converted into bicyclist roads, since due to the needs of railway transport, they have relatively gentle slopes. Thus, they are not too demanding for the majority of cyclotourists, whilst their attractiveness lies in the fact that they pass through beautiful landscape. The paper presents the methodology of planning the revitalisation of the abandoned railway track between Bjelovar and Garešnica with a branch line for Grubišno Polje for the needs of developing cyclotourism in the Bjelovar-Bilogora County.
U ovom radu analizira se postojeći teritorijalni ustroj Svjetske turističke organizacije (WTO) s geografskog aspekta, odnosno daje kritička analiza logike obuhvata pojedinih prostornih cjelina. Pri ...tom se najprije obrazlažu povijest i okolnosti nastanka postojeće teritorijalne organizacije WTO-a, a nakon toga objašnjavaju osnovne razlike između WTO-ovog i geografskog pristupa. Najveći dio rada odnosi se na geografsku analizu obuhvata konkretnih regija i subregija kako ih prati WTO, pri čemu se uz kritički pristup iznose i određene sugestije najpovoljnijih rješenja. U zaključnom dijelu autor se zalaže za to da geografi uvažavaju postojeći teritorijalni ustroj WTO, bez obzira na logiku i okolnosti njegovog oblikovanja, kao i brojna odstupanja od uobičajenih geografskih regionalizacija. Naime razumijevanje teritorijalnog ustroja WTO-a čini preduvjet kvalitetnog praćenja podataka i i analiza koju izdaje WTO-a kao osnovne baze podataka u svjetskom turizmu.
