Kline details Greenpeace's war against whaling, which began in 1975 when its founder, Bob Hunter, set sail with a team of activists to protest the horrific whale hunts happening on the Pacific high ...seas. After many more years of protests and international negotiations, a worldwide ban on commercial whaling was put in place. This spring, the original Greenpeace voyage came full circle when the UN's International Court of Justice handed down a decision against Japan's so-called scientific whaling program.

This September, the International Whaling Commission will meet to review a proposition that could finally close the scientific whaling loophole, which Japan has been abusing to continue its ...commercial whaling operation for nearly three decades. This is the best chance they have to put a permanent stop to Japan's whaling once and for all.
The International Whaling Commission (IWC) met in Slovenia this September 2014 and thanks to people's support, whale and dolphin conservation took a giant leap forward. For decades, pro-whaling ...nations at the IWC have blocked any discussions of small cetaceans (dolphins and porpoises) and only allowed the commission to focus on the large whale species that are the target of their hunting. That changed this year with the passage of a resolution that directs the IWC to share data and information on dolphins and porpoises with other international bodies. It is a huge step to now include alt cetacean species--large and small--in IWC processes.
The dominant buying motive (DBM) is what will cause people to buy. It often depends upon emotions and feelings, as when people begin looking for a house to buy. Emotions are powerful, and the ...relating of those emotions is powerful. The DBM is not product-related. It is in the person.
