The bearing capacity and stability of eight original bamboo columns and eight sprayed composite mortar–original bamboo composite columns (composite columns) were investigated through axial compression testing, and several methods for calculating the strength and stability capacities of the original and composite columns were proposed. The results showed that the failure mode of short columns was strength failure at the ends of the columns, and the failure mode of slender columns was buckling. The experimental ultimate load and ductility of the short composite column supported by the total cross section were 1.5 and 2.6 times higher than those of the short original bamboo column, respectively. Finite-element analysis results for the columns matched well with the experimental results. Considering the effects of the cross-sectional dimensions and initial deflection of the columns on the stability, a calculation method for the buckling coefficient of slender columns based on the edge fibre yield was proposed, and the results of this method agreed with the finite-element results and the experimental results.
To study the flexural behavior of a composite beam, original single and double bamboo beams (SBBs and DBBs, respectively) and sprayed lightweight composite mortar-original bamboo composite beams ...(SCBs and DCBs) were designed and subjected to a four-point bending test based on the moisture content of the original bamboo. The failure modes, bearing capacity, and initial flexural rigidity of all of the beams were analyzed. Also, the strengthening effect of the lightweight composite mortar on the flexural behavior was studied. The results showed that a higher moisture content in the bamboo degraded the anti-slip property of the bond interface between the lightweight composite mortar and bamboo. The moisture content of the bamboo should be kept at approximately 20% before spraying. The initial flexural rigidity and bearing capacity of the DBBs were approximately 2.5 times and twice that of the SBBs, respectively. The initial flexural rigidities of the SCBs and DCBs were approximately 3.8 and 5.7 times that of the SBBs and DBBs, respectively. The ultimate load bearing capacity of the composite beams was approximately 1.5 times that of the original bamboo beams. It was shown that the lightweight composite mortar had a remarkable strengthening effect on the flexural behavior of the original bamboo.

To study the interfacial bond–slip behavior of shaped steel–engineered cementitious composite (ECC) materials, nine full-scale H-shaped steel–ECC specimens were tested. Theoretical equations for the ultimate and residual bond stresses were established via statistical fitting. A tensile constitutive model of the ECC was proposed, and cohesive elements were used in a finite element (FE) analysis to simulate the shaped steel–ECC interface. The results show that the failure mode of the tested specimens is a splitting failure with multiple typical splitting and intumescent cracks in the ECC material. The bond stress has a non-uniform distribution, and the outer flange of the H-shaped steel bears most of the load. Compared with the test and FE results, Eqs. (6) and (11) exhibit good computational accuracy. The rationality of the FE modeling strategy, especially the manner of addressing the issues of tensile constitutive model of ECC and contact of shaped steel and ECC, is verified.
Collaborative Filtering has achieved great success in capturing users' preferences over items. However, existing techniques only consider limited collaborative signals, leading to unsatisfactory ...results when the user-item interactions are sparse. In this paper, we propose a C ross-grained N eural C ollaborative F iltering model (CNCF), which enables recommendation more accurate and explainable. Specifically, we first construct four kinds of interaction graphs to model both fine-grained collaborative signals and coarse-grained collaborative signals, which can better compensate for the high sparsity of user-item interactions. Then we propose a fine-grained collaborative representation learning and design Light Attribute Prediction Networks (<inline-formula> <tex-math notation="LaTeX">LAPN </tex-math></inline-formula>) to capture the high-order attribute interactions and enhance the prediction accuracy. Finally, we propose a coarse-grained collaborative representation learning to represent user preferences based on diverse latent intent factors. The experiments demonstrate the high effectiveness of our proposed model.
In this study, the flexural performance of a new lightweight composite floor constructed of cold-formed steel trusses and a composite mortar slab was tested. The average floor bearing capacity was ...approximately 15 kN/m2 at the mid-span deflection serviceability limit, and 22.5 kN/m2 at ultimate load. We obtained the ratio between the shear force applied to both the cement mortar and upper chord of the steel trusses, and the total shear force applied to the composite floor using a finite element model. We then proposed a theoretical method for determining the composite floor's deflection and bearing capacity, which agreed with the previous results.

In the context of China's pursuit of carbon neutrality and carbon peaking, there is a growing demand for green buildings and environmentally-friendly construction materials. In this regard, bamboo ...structures offer significant potential for development. One promising option is the sprayed composite mortar-original bamboo composite structure system, which exhibits good load-bearing capacity, insulation, and durability. To evaluate the impact of diagonal bamboo strips on the seismic performance of sprayed composite mortar-original bamboo composite walls, as well as analyze the failure modes and hysteretic behavior under low-cycle reverse horizontal loading, a quasi-static test study was conducted on two full-scale walls. One wall incorporated diagonal bamboo strips on both sides of the bamboo studs, while the other wall did not. The results of the study indicate that the presence of diagonal bamboo strips in sprayed composite mortar-original bamboo composite walls enhances their stiffness and bearing capacity, but potentially reduces their ductility and energy dissipation capacity. Compared to other low-rise building walls, sprayed composite mortar-original bamboo composite walls demonstrate higher bearing capacity, and stiffness, as well as good ductility and energy dissipation capacity.

With the rapid growth of Internet industry, online social networks have become an indivisible part of our lives. To enjoy different kinds of services, people prefer to take part in multiple online ...social networks rather than only one. Therefore, identifying the same user across networks, formally named as social network alignment, has become a hot research topic. In this paper, we use social network structure to solve this problem. Firstly, inspired by the aligned network model (a mathematical model to formalize the real-world aligned networks), we present a novel assumption for network alignment. We suppose that the real-world aligned networks can be seen as generated from many different underlying social networks, depending on the matching between users, and the correctly aligned networks ought to own the maximum generation probability. Secondly, a Generation probability based Percolation Network Alignment method (GPNA) is presented. In GPNA, only the candidates, which can increase the generation probability, are regarded as the matched users. At last, a series of experiments are conducted to demonstrate the good performance of GPNA on both synthetic networks and real-world networks.
A joint connecting multiple members is prone to failure under accidental loads such as blasting, impact, and ice-snow thick cover. A scaled Kiewitt-6 (K6) single-layer latticed dome with a ...rise-to-span ratio of 1/8 was tested to evaluate the collapse resistance. After three members of the same joint were abruptly removed in succession, the displacements and strains of the remaining structures were determined. The collapse-resistant performance of the identical dome under simultaneous failure (SIF) of the aforementioned three members was analyzed after developing and validating a finite element (FE) model. Finally, the dynamic performance of numerous full-scale K6 domes with different rise-to-span ratios under two failure conditions was investigated. The results indicate that the failure mode of the tested dome under the successive failure (SUF) condition is local collapse. The members connected to the failed joint and other members rely on the beam and compression mechanisms, respectively, to resist progressive collapse. The FE results are well validated by the test results, and the difference between the two conditions is examined via theoretical analysis. Compared with the SUF condition, K6 single-layer latticed domes are more prone to progressive collapse under the SIF condition. A novel collapse model related to the failure conditions, rise-to-span ratios, and loads of single-layer latticed domes is proposed in this work.

Effects of laser shock peening (LSP) with different coverage layers on corrosion fatigue (CF) resistance of 2Cr13 stainless steel were investigated by residual stress measuring, corrosion fatigue ...testing and fatigue fracture morphology observing. The results show that LSP can induce high compressive residual stress on the surface of 2Cr13 stainless steel, and the value of surface compressive residual stress increases with the increase of LSP coverage layer. The CF life of LSP specimens is much larger than that of as-machined specimens, and it increases with the increase of LSP coverage layers; the CF crack growth rate of LSP specimens decrease compared with that of as-machined specimens, and it decreases with the increase of LSP coverage layers. After the analysis, we can conclude that the fatigue fracture surface of as-machined specimens is flat and contains few secondary cracks. However, for LSP specimens, due to high surface compressive residual stress induced by LSP, the growth of corrosion fatigue crack is effectively restrained, resulting in a river pattern morphology.
This study experimentally investigates the lateral resistance of the screwed connections of original bamboo. Eighteen bamboo-to-bamboo and nine bamboo-to-steel connection specimens are tested using ...lateral resistance tests. The properties of the original bamboo screwed connections are examined with respect to the effects of screw type, screw diameter, and steel plate thickness. All bamboo-to-bamboo connections showed rotation of the screw and dowel-bearing failure of the bamboo. The bamboo-to-steel connections show bending failure of the screw with the increase in steel plate thickness. The screw diameter and steel plate thickness show a positive correlation with the maximum and yield loads and a negative one with ductility. This paper presents theoretical formulas that can predict the bearing capacities of the specimens better than NDS-2018 and Eurocode 5. The Folz formula can effectively simulate the load-slip behavior of the original bamboo screwed connection.
