Abstract
The proper design of buildings should ensure that the indoor conditions are comfortable, and users experience thermal comfort throughout the year, especially in sophisticated, modern ...intelligent buildings. The existing model of thermal comfort comes from the 60’s/70’s and was the basis for the ISO 7730 Standard. It utilizes the concept of the PMV (Predicted Mean Vote) and PPD (Predicted Percentage Dissatisfied) indicators. The current paper compares the actual expressions of people (as indicated by them in the anonymous questionnaires) with the PMV/PPD values calculated according to the Standard. Differences between these values have been discussed and conclusions have been drawn as to the usability of this thermal comfort model in intelligent buildings, which still seem to be a novelty in Central European countries and data on their thermal comfort performance is still quite modest.

The study was performed using ...two methods. The first method with the Testo 400 microclimate meter, the second method with anonymous questionnaires. The microclimate meter made it possible to measure air parameters (including temperature, humidity, speed, CO

concentration). The anonymous poll included questions about the thermal sensations vote, thermal preferences, thermal acceptability vote, air humidity and humidity preferences vote. Students from Poland, faculty of Environmental, Geomatic and Energy Engineering, participated in the study. The research showed that the respondents preferred lower thermal conditions with the temperature range from 22.4 °C to 25.1 °C. The percentage of the students who found the conditions as unsatisfactory - has exceeded the permitted 10% range.
Abstract Currently, more and more emphasis is placed on building energy-efficient buildings from the highest quality materials to keep heat and energy losses as low as possible. Relatively, such ...buildings are much more expensive than traditional buildings due to the technology that is used in them. This applies to HVAC systems, renewable energy sources and etc. This paper presents the correctness of the thermal insulation of the Energis intelligent building at the Kielce University of Technology with the use of a thermal imaging camera. Measurements and photos were taken outside and inside the building, in the winter, in the late afternoon. This research topic was undertaken because few works and articles offer thermal imaging studies of smart buildings. The analysis of the thermograms showed differences between the surface of the windows and the walls from the inside, and additionally a place in the room in which you can see how cold is trying to penetrate the interior. The study provided data on thermal insulation of the tested building, its assessment and correctness of execution.
Abstract This paper investigates student’s thermal comfort in the intelligent building called “Energis” of Kielce University of Technology located in Poland, which is equipped with advanced heating, ...ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) mechanical systems. One lecture theater is selected for thermal analysis. Analysis was focused on student’s assessment of thermal sensations in the autumn season to determine whether modern intelligent buildings can provide adequate comfort conditions during the European transitional period, which is between summer and winter seasons, when heating system is usually off. This study is based on survey data and experimental measurements of indoor parameters using a microclimate Testo 400 meter. The experimental data indicate that a relatively large proportion of students are not satisfied with indoor environmental air quality prevailing in the intelligent building. The results of this study indicate that only 10% of students reported weak productivity related to indoor environmental conditions in the building. In addition, 52% of students describe their thermal sensations as comfortable and 17% of students are not satisfied with environmental conditions in the lecture room. Therefore, improvements on existing mechanical systems for indoor air quality is recommended. Furthermore, it is recommended to conduct more experimental trials and surveys to confirm the results presented in this paper in different University buildings.

Charged lepton system symmetry under combined charge, parity, and time-reversal transformation (CPT) remains scarcely tested. Despite stringent quantum-electrodynamic limits, discrepancies ...in predictions for the electron–positron bound state (positronium atom) motivate further investigation, including fundamental symmetry tests. While CPT noninvariance effects could be manifested in non-vanishing angular correlations between final-state photons and spin of annihilating positronium, measurements were previously limited by knowledge of the latter. Here, we demonstrate tomographic reconstruction techniques applied to three-photon annihilations of ortho-positronium atoms to estimate their spin polarisation without magnetic field or polarised positronium source. We use a plastic-scintillator-based positron-emission-tomography scanner to record ortho-positronium (o-Ps) annihilations with single-event estimation of o-Ps spin and determine the complete spectrum of an angular correlation operator sensitive to CPT-violating effects. We find no violation at the precision level of 10

, with an over threefold improvement on the previous measurement.
Abstract
Nowadays, each of us spends more and more time indoors. The article focuses on research on thermal comfort in a traditional and sustainable building. A sustainable building is equipped with ...heat pumps, a wind turbine, solar collectors and photovoltaic cells. It also has mechanical ventilation, which helps to minimize energy consumption and lower carbon dioxide emissions. The research was carried out using two methods, anonymous questionnaires and the Testo 400 microclimate meter. Based on the conducted research, the thermal sensations of the subjects and their preferences as to the prevailing conditions in the examined buildings were determined. The study also made it possible to compare the PMV index calculated using the Fanger model with TSV (obtained on the basis of anonymous questionnaires).

In-depth semi-structured interviews with staff and former clients of the Project Connections Buprenorphine Program (PCBP) (9 people) and focus group discussions with current and previous clients of PCBP (7 people) were conducted. Content analysis was used to extract themes regarding barriers to enrolling and remaining in, and transitioning from the program.
Primary challenges identified by the participants included struggles with cravings and symptoms of withdrawal, comorbid mental health issues, criminal justice system involvement, medication stigma, and conflicts over level of flexibility regarding program requirements and the role of employment.
This study identified several obstacles clients face when seeking care through a combined buprenorphine-peer support model. Findings highlight potential programmatic factors that can be improved and additional resources that may support treatment retention rates and better outcomes. Despite challenges, low-threshold and community-based programs can increase access to effective maintenance treatment for OUD, especially among vulnerable populations who may not have access to formal health services.

A novel approach to tomographic data processing has been developed and evaluated using the Jagiellonian positron emission tomography scanner as an example. We propose a system in which there is no ...need for powerful, local to the scanner processing facility, capable to reconstruct images on the fly. Instead, we introduce a field programmable gate array system-on-chip platform connected directly to data streams coming from the scanner, which can perform event building, filtering, coincidence search, and region-of-response reconstruction by the programmable logic and visualization by the integrated processors. The platform significantly reduces data volume converting raw data to a list-mode representation, while generating visualization on the fly.
Abstract
Thermal comfort of passengers and cabin crew is an important element to be ensured during short and long distance flights. The analysis of this phenomenon is usually conducted based on the ...measurements of physical parameters of the inside air and factors such as metabolic rate and thermal insulation of clothes. The paper provides an insight into this phenomenon through the literature review on the subject. It presents the assessment of thermal comfort conditions onboard the planes. An important element is the discussion of the current model of thermal comfort proposed by O. Fanger and its usability for the application in planes.
