Beyond fifth generation (5G) communication systems aim towards data rates in the tera bits per second range, with improved and flexible coverage options, introducing many new technological challenges ...in the fields of network architecture, signal processing, and radio frequency front-ends. One option is to move towards cell-free, or distributed massive Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) network architectures and highly integrated front-end solutions. This paper presents an outlook on beyond 5G distributed massive MIMO communication systems, the signal processing, characterisation and simulation challenges, and an overview of the state of the art in millimetre wave antennas and electronics.
To examine the association of six glutathione transferase (GST) gene polymorphisms (GSTT1, GSTP1/rs1695, GSTO1/rs4925, GSTO2/rs156697, GSTM1, GSTA1/rs3957357) with the survival of patients with ...muscle invasive bladder cancer and the genotype modifying effect on chemotherapy.
A total of 105 patients with muscle invasive bladder cancer were included in the study. The follow-up lasted 5 years. The effect of GSTs polymorphisms on predicting mortality was analyzed by the Cox proportional hazard models, while Kaplan-Meier analysis was performed to assess differences in survival.
GSTT1 active, GSTO1 Asp140Asp or GSTO2 Asp142Asp genotypes were independent predictors of a higher risk of death among bladder cancer patients (HR = 2.5, P = 0.028; HR = 2.9, P = 0.022; HR = 3.9, P = 0.001; respectively) and significantly influenced the overall survival. There was no association between GSTP1, GSTM1 and GSTA1 gene variants with overall mortality. Only GSTO2 polymorphism showed a significant effect on the survival in the subgroup of patients who received chemotherapy (P = 0.006).
GSTT1 active genotype and GSTO1 Asp140Asp and GSTO2 Asp142Asp genotypes may have a prognostic/pharmacogenomic role in patients with muscle invasive bladder cancer.

The identification of bacterial colonies is deemed to be crucial in microbiology as it helps in identifying specific categories of bacteria. The careful examination of colony morphology plays a ...crucial role in microbiology laboratories for the identification of microorganisms. Quantifying bacterial colonies on culture plates is a necessary task in Clinical Microbiology Laboratories, but it can be time‐consuming and susceptible to inaccuracies. Therefore, there is a need to develop an automated system that is both dependable and cost‐effective. Advancements in Deep Learning have played a crucial role in improving processes by providing maximum accuracy with a negligible amount of error. This research proposes an automated technique to extract the bacterial colonies using SegNet, a semantic segmentation network. The segmented colonies are then counted with the assistance of blob counter to accomplish the activity of colony counting. Furthermore, to ameliorate the proficiency of the segmentation network, the network weights are optimized using a swarm optimizer. The proposed methodology is both cost‐effective and time‐efficient, while also providing better accuracy and precise colony counts, ensuring the elimination of human errors involved in traditional colony counting techniques. The investigative assessments were carried out on three distinct sets of data: Microorganism, DIBaS, and tailored datasets. The results obtained from these assessments revealed that the suggested framework attained an accuracy rate of 88.32%, surpassing other conventional methodologies with the utilization of an optimizer.

Objective and design:
In the presented study we compared the effect of stable peptide BPC 157 and methylprednisolone on early functional recovery after Achilles tendon to bone transection in a rat ...model before collagen healing started.
Material and methods:
Surgical transection of the right Achilles tendon to bone area was performed in seventy two Wistar Albino male rats. Healing Achilles tendon edges were harvested at days 1–4 following the transection. Using Achilles functional index (AFI), myeloperoxidase activity, histological inflammatory cell influx and vascular index early functional recovery was evaluated.
Treatment:
Agents (stable peptide BPC 157 10μg methylprednisolone 5 mg, normal saline 5 ml) were given alone (/kg b.w., intraperitoneally, once daily, first 30 min after surgery, last 24 h before analysis). Control group received normal saline 5 ml/kg.
Results:
BPC 157 improved functional recovery (AFI values increased at all time points, p <0.05) by anti-inflammatory (decreased myeloperoxidase (MPO) activity and histological inflammatory cell influx, p <0.05) and increased new blood vessel formation (increased vascular index, p <0.05). Methyprednisolone decreased MPO activity and histological inflammatory cell influx, (p <0.05) but also decreased new blood vessel formation and did not affect early functional recovery.
Conclusions:
Stable peptide BPC 157 with combined anti-inflammatory action and induction of early new blood vessel formation facilitates early functional recovery in Achilles tendon to bone healing.

Radical prostatectomy is one of most common treatment options currently recommended for clinically localized prostate cancer. Evaluation of intraoperative and postoperative complications is important ...in evaluation of relative morbidity of this treatment option. Furthermore, investigation of complications of surgical treatment in correlation with not only surgical technique, but comorbidity, ASA stage and anesthetic technique enables improvements in complete perioperative treatment and decrease of incidence of complications resulting from the procedure. Improvement of anesthetic techniques and use of new anesthetic agents contributes to better outcome of surgical treatment. For radical surgery, combined epidural analgesia and general anesthesia reduces postoperative complications and mortality. Benefits can be conferred most likely by altered coagulation activation in surgery, increased blood flow, reduction of operative stress response. Modalities for reduction of intraoperative blood loss during radical prostatectomy are normovolemic haemodilution, preoperative donation of blood for autologus transfusion and use of erythropoietin for increasing red cell mass.
A novel microcoil design employing an exquisite feature of low temperature co-fired ceramics (LTCC) technology - a multilayered structures fabrication - is presented in this work. The intended ...purpose of the microcoils is their efficient implementation in a system for nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. Sub-millimeter dimensions, cylindrical shape, low resistance, high self-resonant frequency of the microcoil are crucial for the efficiency of NMR experiments. The microcoils have air-filled quasi-solenoidal shape where every layer of LTCC tape accommodates one half of the microcoil's winding, 12 windings in total. After the fabrication, 32 test samples with different sizes were characterized with a vector network analyzer, providing measurement results in terms of inductance and self-resonant frequency.
The paper deals with design, construction and implementation of bilateral control system using fuzzy regulation. The aim of paper is implementation of a system which can be used as a didactic tool ...for better understanding of bilateral control concepts, as well as a base for further work. The system is composed of mechanical model of haptic paddle with one degree of freedom and virtual model of haptic paddle and its environment, interconnected using acquisition card. Virtual environments control is created using fuzzy logic. After implementing control algorithm and connecting two models - the mechanical and virtual, the functionality of system was confirmed by experimental data.
The paper deals with one of frequently encountered tasks in process industry - water level control. Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) control is often used for this purpose. Since control ...parameters of PID controller are fixed and tank system is inherently nonlinear, PID controller should not be used on wider level range. Therefore, this paper analyzes the effectiveness of water level control using fuzzy controller. The fuzzy controller is implemented based on mathematical model of tank and using MATLAB. The controller is implemented on Friendly ARM - embedded computer. Arduino board is used as an acquisition board for collecting sensor data from tank system Festo Didactic DD 3100 and as a PWM signal generator for water pump control. Experimental results confirm that the fuzzy control system has good adaptability in comparison with PID and provided satisfying results.
