We present a search for Herschel-PACS counterparts of dust-obscured, high-redshift objects previously selected at submillimeter and millimeter wavelengths in the Great Observatories Origins Deep ...Survey North field. We detect 22 of 56 submillimeter galaxies (39%) with a SNR of $\geq$3 at 100 $\mu$m down to 3.0 mJy, and/or at 160 $\mu$m down to 5.7 mJy. The fraction of SMGs seen at 160 $\mu$m is higher than that at 100 $\mu$m. About 50% of radio-identified SMGs are associated with PACS sources. We find a trend between the SCUBA/PACS flux ratio and redshift, suggesting that these flux ratios could be used as a coarse redshift indicator. PACS undetected submm/mm selected sources tend to lie at higher redshifts than the PACS detected ones. A total of 12 sources (21% of our SMG sample) remain unidentified and the fact that they are blank fields at Herschel-PACS and VLA 20 cm wavelength may imply higher redshifts for them than for the average SMG population (e.g., $z>3-4$). The Herschel-PACS imaging of these dust-obscured starbursts at high-redshifts suggests that their far-infrared spectral energy distributions have significantly different shapes than template libraries of local infrared galaxies.
We investigate the effects of the environment on star formation in a sample of massive luminous and ultra-luminous infrared galaxies (LIRGs and ULIRGs) with S(24 {mu}m) >80 {mu}Jy and i {sup +} < 24 ...in the COSMOS field. We exploit the accurate photometric redshifts in COSMOS to characterize the galaxy environment and study the evolution of the fraction of LIRGs and ULIRGs in different environments in the redshift range z = 0.3-1.2 and in bins of stellar mass. We find that the environment plays a role in the star formation processes and evolution of LIRGs and ULIRGs. We find an overall increase of the ULIRG+LIRG fraction in an optically selected sample with increasing redshift, as expected from the evolution of the star formation rate (SFR) density. We find that the ULIRG+LIRG fraction decreases with increasing density up to z {approx} 1, and that the dependence on density flattens with increasing redshift. We do not observe the reversal of the SFR density relation up to z = 1 in massive LIRGs and ULIRGs, suggesting that such reversal might occur at higher redshift in this infrared luminosity range.
Gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) have been proposed as a tool for studying star formation in the Universe, so it is crucial to investigate whether their host galaxies and immediate environments are in any way ...special compared with other star-forming galaxies. Here we present spatially resolved maps of dust emission of the host galaxyof the closest known GRB 980425 at z = 0.0085 using our new high-resolution observations from Herschel, Atacama Pathfinder Experiment (APEX), Atacama Large Millimeter Array (ALMA) and Australia Telescope Compact Array (ATCA). We modelled the spectral energy distributions of the host and of the star-forming region displaying the Wolf-Rayet signatures in the spectrum (WR region), located 800 pc from the GRB position. The host is characterised by low dust content and a high fraction of UV-visible star formation, similar to other dwarf galaxies. These galaxies are abundant in the local universe, so it is not surprising to find a GRB in one of them, assuming the correspondence between the GRB rate and star formation. The WR region contributes substantially to the host emission at the far-infrared, millimetre, and radio wavelengths and we propose that this is a consequence of its high gas density. If dense environments are also found close to the positions of other GRBs, then the ISM density should also be considered, along with metallicity, an important factor influencing whether a given stellar population can produce a GRB.

En 2008, une enquête d’opinion fait apparaître une forte progression des opinions favorables à la chasse et la répartition des opinions favorables et défavorables est maintenant quasi égale. Des ...variations sont observées selon les tranches d’âge des personnes interrogées et selon les caractéristiques des agglomérations où elles habitent. Les chasseurs sont des acteurs importants de la gestion de la biodiversité et des écosystèmes, ils participent notamment à la plantation des haies et des bosquets, à leur entretien et à celui des zones humides. Les agriculteurs et les sylviculteurs collaborent avec les chasseurs et intègrent, sur leur exploitation, la préservation de la faune sauvage et de ses habitats. Les organismes cynégétiques ont mis en place un système de suivi et d’évaluation continue des 90 espèces de la faune sauvage chassées. Le réseau SAGIR (réseau national de suivi sanitaire de la faune sauvage en France) est un réseau de surveillance épidémiologique créé en 1986 par l’Office national de la chasse (ONCFS) et les Fédérations de Chasseurs (FNC et FDC) ; il est géré par les structures de la chasse en liaison avec les laboratoires vétérinaires.
In 2008, a public opinion poll revealed a significant increase in opinions in favour of hunting, thereby levelling out the difference between those for and those against. However, there were variations based on the age of those surveyed and on the type of area they lived in. Hunters play a major role in the management of biodiversity and ecosystems, as they participate in the planting and maintenance of hedges and groves and in the maintenance of wetlands. Farmers and foresters work together with hunters, integrating the preservation of wildlife and its habitats on their farmland. Hunting organisations set up a system to monitor and evaluate continuously the 90 species of game hunted. The French epidemiological network monitoring the health of wildlife SAGIR was created in 1986 by the French national hunting organisation ONCFS and the federations of hunters FNC and FDC, and is managed by the hunting organisations working with veterinary laboratories.
Le coût élevé des matières premières ainsi que la pression environnementale rendent le contexte favorable à une réduction supplémentaire de la teneur en protéines des aliments des porcelets. Les ...acides aminés indispensables comme les acides aminés à chaîne ramifiée (la valine, l’isoleucine, la leucine) et l’histidine peuvent alors devenir des facteurs limitants pour la croissance. L’estimation du besoin en ces acides aminés est alors nécessaire pour équilibrer la protéine alimentaire et améliorer l’efficacité d’utilisation de l’azote. L’analyse de la réponse des performances à l’apport d’acides aminés est la méthode la plus employée pour estimer les besoins de croissance. Le protocole expérimental, le choix du critère de réponse et les méthodes d'estimation de la réponse sont des facteurs importants de la variation des besoins estimés. Les besoins moyens en valine, isoleucine, leucine et histidine, issus des données empiriques de la bibliographie et exprimés sur la base d'un rapport avec la lysine digestible iléale standardisée, sont respectivement estimés à 70, 52, 101 et 31%. Cependant, tout comme les carences, les excès d’acides aminés peuvent réduire les performances car les acides aminés sont en compétition pour leur catabolisme et leur transport. L’incorporation de sources de protéines contenant de l’hémoglobine augmente le besoin en isoleucine et un excès de leucine dans l’aliment augmente l’effet de la carence en valine. L’adéquation entre les apports et les besoins en acides aminés doit être recherchée pour baisser l’apport de protéines, réduire les rejets azotés et assurer l’objectif de production.
Le but de cette recherche était d’évaluer l’incidence des synchronisations issues des aménagements du temps scolaire et de la famille sur les niveaux et les variations de l’attention de l’enfant ...scolarisé. Deux études ont été réalisées auprès de 498 enfants âgés de 6 à 11 ans. Les résultats montrent que l’attention et ses variations sont sous l’incidence de ces deux synchroniseurs socio-écologiques dont le rôle d’entraînement ou d’altération serait modéré par l’âge de l’enfant. L’aménagement en quatre jours apparaît le plus défavorable pour les deux groupes d’âge. La désynchronisation d’un long week-end est plus marquée chez les enfants les plus âgés et le rôle d’entraînement du mercredi travaillé n’est observé que chez les plus jeunes. Le temps de présence parentale journalier n’affecte pas les performances attentionnelles des plus âgés quand il différencie le niveau et les variations des plus jeunes au détriment des enfants disposant de moins de temps parental.
This study investigates the impact of socioecological synchronization on the level and variations in children's attention at school. The aim was to re-examine previous results and broaden the chronopsychological scope of the research to include new synchronizers originating from proximal ecological niches. Two time-management factors were considered, the organization of the school timetable and the regular and predictable daily time with parents, influenced by work organization and compromises within the family. Two studies were conducted on a total of 498 children between six and 11years of age. Results confirm a daily attention pattern. The level of performance and the daily pattern are affected by the two time-management factors whose beneficial or adverse influence depends on the child's age. Thus, while the weekly school timetable organized over four days has the strongest negative impact on attention performance for the two age groups, desynchronization due to a longer week-end is greater in the older children. The effects of the two possible four-and-a-half-day timetables also differ according to age. The benefits of working on Wednesdays for younger children appeared less beneficial for the older pupils. Regular and predictable daily time with parents does appear to play a role which also varies according to age, as it has an effect on younger children but has no impact on older children's attention or performance. This study confirms the synchronizing role of temporal messages from school and parental niches in the level and variations in children's attention at school, and is in line with the ecological point of view demonstrated by chronobiological studies. These findings support the importance of research that takes an overall approach to the child's environment. Further work should investigate the prioritization of social synchronizers according to their proximity to the child and how they interact.

Différentes disciplines (écologie, écophysiologie, génétique, microbiologie, entomologie, physiologie et foresterie) ont été associées pour préciser la taxonomie et la répartition géographique de ce taxon, analyser la diversité aussi bien de la plante-hôte que des micro-organismes qui lui sont associés, caractériser son fonctionnement et les interactions en milieu naturel en réponse aux facteurs eau, azote et phosphore, enfin pour réunir les éléments nécessaires à son utilisation dans les opérations de réhabilitation. Cet ouvrage, qui s'adresse aux chercheurs et aux enseignants, ainsi qu'aux organismes de développement, est divisé en cinq parties : diversités, écologie, usages; fonctionnement hydrique, phénologie ; micro-organismes associés : diversités, physiologie ; interactions Acacia-milieu ; multiplication de l'espèce : aspects fondamentaux et appliqués.
Le sevrage est une période critique de l’élevage du porc, caractérisée par une susceptibilité accrue aux désordres digestifs entraînant diarrhées et baisse de croissance. La réglementation européenne ...de janvier 2006 interdisant l’utilisation d’antibiotiques comme facteurs de croissance dans les aliments de sevrage a stimulé la recherche de substances alternatives pour limiter les problèmes du sevrage, en améliorant le fonctionnement digestif de l’animal. La présente revue synthétise et illustre les effets de différentes solutions alternatives aux antibiotiques sur l’ingestion et la digestion, la physiologie de la muqueuse intestinale, la microflore et les défenses de l’animal.
Using Herschel Photodetector Array Camera (PACS) and Spectral and Photometric Imaging Receiver (SPIRE) observations of Lockman Hole-North and Great Observatories Origins Deep Survey-North (GOODS-N) ...as part of the Herschel Multi-tiered Extragalactic Survey (HerMES) project, we explore the far-infrared (IR) properties of a sample of mid-IR-selected starburst-dominated ultraluminous infrared galaxies (ULIRGs) at z∼ 2. The selection of the sample is based on the detection of the stellar bump that appears in the spectral energy distribution of star-forming galaxies at 1.6 μm. We derive robust estimates of infrared luminosities (LIR) and dust temperatures (Td) of the population and find that while the luminosities in our sample span less than an order of magnitude (12.24 ≤ log(LIR/L⊙) ≤ 12.94), they cover a wide range of dust temperatures (25 ≤Td≤ 62 K). Galaxies in our sample range from those that are as cold as high-z submillimetre galaxies (SMGs) to those that are as warm as optically faint radio galaxies (OFRGs) and local ULIRGs. Nevertheless, our sample has median Td= 42.3 K, filling the gap between SMGs and OFRGs, bridging the two populations. We demonstrate that a significant fraction of our sample would be missed from ground-based (sub)mm surveys (850–1200 μm), showing that the latter introduce a bias towards the detection of colder sources. We conclude that Herschel observations confirm the existence of high-z ULIRGs warmer than SMGs, show that the mid-IR selection of high-z ULIRGs is not Td dependent, reveal a large dispersion in Td of high-z ULIRGs and provide the means to characterize the bulk of the ULIRG population, free from selection biases introduced by ground-based (sub)mm surveys.
