. In this work a determination of the photon PDF from fits to recent ATLAS measurements of high-mass Drell–Yan dilepton production at
s
=
8
TeV is presented. This analysis is based on the xFitter framework, and has required improvements both in the APFEL program, to account for NLO QED effects, and in the aMCfast interface to account for the photon-initiated contributions in the EW calculations within MadGraph5_aMC@NLO. The results are compared with other recent QED fits and determinations of the photon PDF, consistent results are found.

Results on open charm and beauty production and on the search for top production in high-energy electron–proton collisions at HERA are reviewed. This includes a discussion of relevant theoretical ...aspects, a summary of the available measurements and measurement techniques, and their impact on improved understanding of QCD and its parameters, such as parton density functions and charm- and beauty-quark masses. The impact of these results on measurements at the LHC and elsewhere is also addressed.
Combined HERA data on charm production in deep-inelastic scattering have previously been used to determine the charm-quark running mass mc(mc) in the MS‾ renormalisation scheme. Here, the same data ...are used as a function of the photon virtuality Q2 to evaluate the charm-quark running mass at different scales to one-loop order, in the context of a next-to-leading order QCD analysis. The scale dependence of the mass is found to be consistent with QCD expectations.
Мета роботи. Дослідження впливу водно-етанольного (30:70) екстракту з «волохатих» коренів Artemisia tilesii на процес утворення супероксидних радикалів у redоx системі автоокиснення адреналіну.
...Матеріали і методи. Водно-етанольний (30:70) екстракт з «волохатих» коренів Artemisia tilesii був отриманий у лабораторії адаптаційної біотехнології Інституту клітинної біології та генетичної інженерії НАН України.
Загальний вміст флавоноїдів у екстракті з «волохатих» коренів Artemisia tilesii визначали спектрофотометричним методом та виражали у рутиновому еквіваленті.
Дослідження впливу екстракту з «волохатих» коренів Artemisia tilesii на супероксидні радикали, які генеруються при автоокисненні адреналіну, проводили in vitro спектрофотометрично. Кількісну оцінку процесу здійснювали через розрахунок констант швидкості першого порядку.
Результати й обговорення. Встановлено, що водно-етанольний (30:70) екстракт з «волохатих» коренів Artemisia tilesii, багатий на сполуки флавоноїдної природи, в хімічній системі автоокиснення адреналіну достовірно виявляє прооксидантні властивості, які залежать від його концентрації в системі. Вже при концентрації екстракту в системі 50 мкМ (за рутином) константа швидкості хімічної реакції утворення супероксидних радикалів збільшується в 2,3 раза.
Висновки. Результати підтверджують, що екстракт з «волохатих» коренів Artemisia tilesii у хімічній системі автоокиснення адреналіну виявляє прооксидантний ефект, стимулюючи утворення супероксидних радикалів. Зважаючи на дані досліджень, які вказують на те, що генерація активних форм кисню та їхній підвищений рівень безпосередньо пов’язані з антибактеріальною активністю, можна зробити припущення, що потенційно даний екстракт за рахунок прооксидантних властивостей може виявляти протимікробний ефект та використовуватися як активний фармацевтичний інгредієнт лікарських засобів з антибактеріальною дією.
Materials. 137 patients were divided into two clinical groups: the first (main) group consisted of 103 patientswith male infertility due to EDO, and the second (control) group included 34 practically ...healthy men.Results. The study of globulin concentration binding sex hormones showed its increase in men of themain group within 26.7 ± 12.5 %, compared with the control group 27.1 ± 9.2 nmol/l versus 21.3 ± 3.9 nmol/l,respectively (p = 0.406483). The mean indicator of androgen index in patients with EDO was at the lower limitsof the norm and made up 70 %, amounting to 84.3 ± 19.8 % compared with 110.8 ± 11.5 % in the control group(p = 0.085391). The average concentration of gonadotropins was slightly higher in the patients with EDO comparedwith practically healthy men, but within the statistical error. The corresponding values of FSH and LHwere 4.1 ± 2.1 and 5.1 ± 3.9 mIU/ml versus 3.5 ± 1.8 and 4.4 ± 1.7 mIU/ml in the control group (p > 0.05). Therewere no differences in the content of BPD which was 239.5 ± 82.6 versus 234.2 ± 75.7 mIU/ml, (p > 0.05).Conclusions. 22.3 % of patients with EDO had a hidden or relative androgen deficiency, characterized by70 % decrease in AI at the corresponding normal levels of total T on the background of increasing SHBG concentration,influenced by the age changes (older than 40 years, χ2 = 34.05; p < 0.001), previously cured orchid orepididymitis (χ2 = 5.06; p < 0.025), and additional marker of unrealized reproductive function (lack of pregnancyin sexual partners: χ2 = 7.96; p < 0.005). There was no reliable relationship between relative androgen deficiencyand the incidence of prostatitis in anamnesis (χ2 = 2.99; p > 0.05). The fact of previously cured prostatitis didnot affect the frequency of AI reduction in patients with EDO. The highlighted peculiarities of the hormonalprofile in patients with EDO confirmed the secondary (acquired) nature of the genesis of ejaculatory duct obstruction.They also showed that this pathology had a tendency to gradually suppress the function of the testesand form androgen deficiency proved by lower AI.
