An increasing number of studies have examined the relationship between child maltreatment and self-esteem. In this study, we assess the magnitude of this association through a meta-analytic approach. ...Four English databases (PubMed, PsycINFO, PsycARTICLES, and Web of Science), three Chinese databases (China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang, and Weipu), and grey literature were systematically searched. A total of 254 independent studies, including 550 effect sizes, met the inclusion criteria for this meta-analysis. Child maltreatment was significantly and negatively associated with self-esteem (

Furthermore, the meta-regression results suggested that the aggregated associations between child maltreatment and self-esteem were not inflated by publication bias, but they were moderated by age and culture. General and subtypes of child maltreatment are associated with decreased self-esteem. Evidence-based and culturally sensitive child maltreatment prevention and intervention programs should be developed and implemented as early as possible.
To prepare the monoclonal antibody (mAb) against human myoglobin (MYO) of high titer and specificity and develop double-antibody sandwich ELISA for detecting MYO in human serum samples.
The BALB/c ...mice were immunized with natural human MYO, and the hybridoma cell lines secreting anti-MYO mAb were established using cell fusion and hybridoma screening techniques. The characteristics of the mAb were identified after affinity purification from ascites. Then the best antibody pair was selected from mAb to establish a one-step sandwich ELISA method. Sixty human serum samples were detected by the homemade ELISA kit and the imported one, respectively.
Nine strains of hybridoma cell lines stably secreted anti-MYO mAb. Four strains named 2M1, 3M4, 5M7 and 10M4 could secrete high-quality mAb and the titers of them were in the range of 1.0×10(6) to 2.6×10(6) (A450 value was about 1.0). Three antibody pairs (2M1/HRP-3M4, 5M7/HRP-3M4, 10M4/HRP-5M7) were selected by double-antibody sandwich ELISA. Among them, the 5M7/HRP-3M
Prostate cancer remains the second leading cause of cancer-associated deaths amongst American men. Trop2, a cell surface glycoprotein, correlates with poor clinical outcome and is highly expressed in ...metastatic, treatment-resistant prostate cancer. High levels of Trop2 are prognostic for biochemical recurrence. Trop2 regulates tumor growth and metastatic ability of prostate cancer. Moreover, overexpression of Trop2 drives the transdifferentiation to neuroendocrine phenotype in prostate cancer. In addition, Trop2 is overexpressed across epithelial cancers and has emerged as a promising therapeutic target in various solid epithelial cancers. The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) recently approved the use of a Trop2-targeting ADC (antibody-drug conjugate), Sacituzumab Govitecan (IMMU-132), for metastatic, triple-negative breast cancer with at least two prior therapies. Here, we review the role of Trop2 in prostate tumorigenesis and its potential as a promising biomarker and therapeutic target for prostate cancer.
The properties of injection-locking chaos synchronization and communication in closed-loop external-cavity semiconductor lasers (ECSL) subject to phase-conjugate feedback (PCF) are investigated ...systematically. We theoretically analyze the general conditions for the injection-locking, and numerically investigate the properties of injection-locking chaos synchronization in the phase and intensity domains, the influences of frequency detuning and intrinsic parameter mismatch on the injection-locking chaos synchronization, as well as the performance of injection-locking chaos synchronization-based communication in closed-loop PCF-ECSL systems. The numerical results demonstrate that with respect to the conventional optical feedback (COF) scenario, the injection-locking chaos synchronization in a PCF-ECSLs configuration shows a significantly wider high-quality synchronization region and excellent feasibility, and the performance of chaos communication can also be enhanced.
With the widespread use of mobile Internet, mobile payment has become a part of daily life, and bank card recognition in natural scenes has become a hot topic. Although printed character recognition ...has achieved remarkable success in recent years, bank card recognition is not limited to traditional printed character recognition. There are two types of bank cards: unembossed bank cards, such as most debit cards which usually use printed characters, and embossed bank cards, such as most credit cards which mainly use raised characters. Recognition of raised characters is very challenging due to its own characteristics, and there is a lack of fast and good methods to handle it. To better recognize raised characters, we propose an effective method based on deep learning to detect and recognize bank cards in complex natural scenes. The method can accurately recognize the card number characters on embossed and unembossed bank cards. First, to break the limitation that YOLOv3 algorithm is usually used for object detection, we propose a novel approach that enables YOLOv3 to be used not only for bank card detection and classification, but also for character recognition. The CANNYLINES algorithm is used for rectification and the Scharr operator is introduced to locate the card number region. The proposed method can satisfy bank card detection, classification and character recognition in complex natural scenes, such as complex backgrounds, distorted card surfaces, uneven illumination, and characters with the same or similar color to the background. To further improve the recognition accuracy, a printed character recognition model based on ResNet-32 is proposed for the unembossed bank cards. According to the color and morphological characteristics of embossed bank cards, raised character recognition model combining traditional morphological methods and LeNet-5 convolutional neural network is proposed for the embossed bank cards. The experimental results on the collected bank card dataset and bank card number dataset show that our proposed method can effectively detect and identify different types of bank cards. The accuracy of the detection and classification of bank cards reaches 100%. The accuracy of the raised characters recognition on the embossed bank card is 99.31%, and the accuracy of the printed characters recognition on the unembossed bank card reaches 100%.
A novel cluster fusion method is proposed, based on which chaos synchronization in asymmetric coupling semiconductor lasers (ACSLs) networks is systematically demonstrated. Take the cluster fusion of ...a mutually-coupled network composed of 7 semiconductor lasers (SLs) for instance, the characteristics of chaos synchronization as well as the influences of coupling strength, bias current, and mismatches of intrinsic parameters and injection strength on the quality of chaos synchronization in hybrid clusters composed of ACSLs are thoroughly investigated. The results show that by using cluster fusion, the ACSLs which originally belong to different clusters can form three types of new hybrid clusters, namely, trivial-hybrid cluster, trivial-nontrivial-hybrid cluster, and nontrivial-hybrid cluster. Compared with the low-correlation inter-cluster ACSLs of original SLs network, high-quality chaos synchronization is achieved in three types of newly generated hybrid clusters over a wide parameter range. Moreover, the cluster fusion and synchronization of side-SLs clusters of star-type SLs networks are also verified, which indicate the universality of the proposed method. This work provides a new way to realize the chaos synchronization among ACSLs of different clusters.
We propose an adaptive time-delayed photonic reservoir computing (RC) structure by utilizing the Kalman filter (KF) algorithm as training approach. Two benchmark tasks, namely the Santa Fe ...time-series prediction and the nonlinear channel equalization, are adopted to evaluate the performance of the proposed RC structure. The simulation results indicate that with the contribution of adaptive KF training, the prediction and equalization performance for the benchmark tasks can be significantly enhanced, with respect to the conventional RC using a training approach based on the least-squares (LS). Moreover, by introducing a complex mask derived from a bandwidth and complexity enhanced chaotic signal into the proposed RC, the performance of prediction and equalization can be further improved. In addition, it is demonstrated that the proposed RC system can provide a better equalization performance for the parameter-variant wireless channel equalization task, compared with the conventional RC based on LS training. The work presents a potential way to realize adaptive photonic computing.
Twin proximal support vector regression is a new regression machine designed by using twin support vector machine and proximal support vector regression. In this paper, we use the above models ...framework to build a new regression model, called the twin proximal least squares support vector regression model based on heteroscedastic Gaussian noise (TPLSSVR-HGN). The least square method is introduced and the regularization terms b 1 2 and b 2 2 are added respectively. It transforms an inequality constraint problem into two simpler equality constraint problems, which not only improves the training speed and generalization ability, but also effectively improves the forecasting accuracy. In order to solve the parameter selection problem of model TPLSSVR-HGN, the particle swarm optimization algorithm with fast convergence speed and good robustness is selected to optimize its parameters. In order to verify the forecasting performance of TPLSSVR-HGN, it is compared with the classical regression models on the artificial data set, UCI data set and wind-speed data set. The experimental results show that TPLSSVR-HGN has better forecasting effect than the classical regression models.
The 0-1 knapsack problem (KP) is a classic NP-hard problem and could be handled by swarm intelligence algorithms. However, most of these algorithms might be trapped in the local optima as the scale ...increases. Hybrid rice optimization (HRO) is a novel swarm intelligence algorithm inspired by the breeding process of Chinese three-line hybrid rice, its population is classified into three types such as the maintainer, restorer and sterile line and several stages including hybridization, selfing and renewal are implemented. In this paper, a modified HRO algorithm is proposed for the complicated large-scale 0-1 KP. A dynamic step is introduced in the renewal stage to balance the exploration and exploitation phases. Moreover, HRO is combined with binary ant colony optimization (BACO) algorithm to compose the parallel model and serial model for enhancing the convergence speed and search efficiency. In the parallel model, HRO and BACO are independently implemented on two subpopulations and communicate during each iteration. In the serial model, BACO is embedded in HRO as an operator to update the maintainer line. The experimental results on 0-1 KPs of different scales and correlations demonstrate the outperformance of the parallel model and serial model.
High-performance bamboo veneer composite (BVC) is a typical application to achieve high efficiency of bamboo for sustainable engineering. As the important pretreatment during the manufacture process ...of BVC to improve dimensional stability and weather resistance, thermal treatment would weaken mechanical properties, whose influence mechanism has not been determined. Herein, we mainly focus on the main bearing substance of BVC- bamboo cellulosic fibers (BCFs), to expound the inherent interrelationship between macro-mechanical properties of BVC and microstructure of BCFs by studying their micro-mechanical properties, crystal structure, hydrogen bonding system, chemical structure and degree of polymerization (DP) under thermal treatment (140 °C and 200 °C). With the temperature increased, the diameter and orientation of BCFs basically remained unchanged, the crystallinity increases slightly, but the DP of BCFs decreased, causing the decrease of microscopic tensile properties of BCFs. Macro-mechanical properties of BVC are positively correlated with the micro-mechanical properties of BCFs.
•Thermal treatment has little effect on the diameter and orientation of BCF.•Tensile modulus of BVC is related to the crystallinity of heat-treated BCF.•Tensile strength of BVC is highly correlated with the DP of heat-treated BCF.
