We have proposed a novel concept of a digital watermarking technique for music data that focuses on the use of sound synthesis and sound effect techniques. This paper describes the details of our ...proposed technique that employs the distortion effect, one of the most common sound effects frequently utilized especially for guitar and bass instruments. This paper describes the experimental results of evaluating the resistance of the proposed technique against some basic malicious attacks utilizing MP3 coding, tempo alteration, pitch alteration, and high-pass filtering. It is demonstrated that the proposed technique potentially has appropriate resistance against such attacks except for the high-pass filtering attack. A technique for increasing the resistance against the high-pass filtering attack is also supplementarily discussed.

We have proposed a novel concept of a digital watermarking technique for music data that focuses on the use (a) of sound synthesis and sound effect techniques. The previous proposed technique was ...confirmed a vulnerability to high-pass filtering. This paper describes the details of the conventional embedding technique and the improved traction technique that employs the Deep Neural Networks. This paper describes the experimental results of evaluating the resistance of the proposed technique against high-pass filtering. It is demonstrated that the proposed technique in this paper has appropriate resistance (b) against high-pass filtering attack, which was not good at conventional technique.
In this paper, we study a key establishment scheme with quasi-cyclic (QC) low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes and universal hushing (UH) protocols. We show probabilities that different keys are ...shared by our error-correction and a privacy amplification scheme for a given key distribution scheme, and we propose a permutation technique that the probability becomes lower.
This paper describes an experimental result of modeling stomp boxes of the distortion effect based on a machine learning approach. Our proposed technique models a distortion stomp box as a neural ...network consisting of LSTM layers. In this approach, the neural network is employed for learning the nonlinear behavior of the distortion stomp boxes. All the parameters for replicating the distortion sound are estimated through its training process using the input and output signals obtained from some commercial stomp boxes. The experimental result indicates that the proposed technique may have a certain appropriateness to replicate the distortion sound by using the well-trained neural networks.
This paper describes an experimental result of modeling stomp boxes of the distortion effect based on a machine learning approach. Our proposed technique models the distortion stomp boxes as a neural ...network consisting of CNN and LSTM. In this approach, CNN is employed for modeling the linear component that appears in the pre and post filters of the stomp boxes. On the other hand, LSTM is employed for modeling the nonlinear component that appears in the distortion process of the stomp boxes. All the parameters are estimated through the training process using the input and output signals of the distortion stomp boxes. The experimental result indicates that the proposed technique may have a certain potential to replicate the distortion stomp boxes appropriately by using the well-trained neural network.

Hydrogen atom transfer (HAT) hydrogenation has recently emerged as an indispensable method for the chemoselective reduction of unactivated alkenes. However, the hitherto reported systems basically ...require stoichiometric amounts of silanes and peroxides, which prevents wider applications, especially with respect to sustainability and safety concerns. Herein, we report a silane- and peroxide-free HAT hydrogenation using a combined cobalt/photoredox catalysis and ascorbic acid (vitamin C) as a sole stoichiometric reactant. A cobalt salophen complex is identified as the optimal cocatalyst for this environmentally benign HAT hydrogenation in aqueous media, which exhibits high functional-group tolerance. In addition to its applicability in the late-stage hydrogenation of amino-acid derivatives and drug molecules, this method offers unique advantage in direct transformation of unprotected sugar derivatives and allows the HAT hydrogenation of unprotected C-glycoside in higher yield compared to previously reported HAT hydrogenation protocols. The proposed mechanism is supported by experimental and theoretical studies.
Artificial reconstruction of fibre-shaped cellular constructs could greatly contribute to tissue assembly in vitro. Here we show that, by using a microfluidic device with double-coaxial laminar flow, ...metre-long core-shell hydrogel microfibres encapsulating ECM proteins and differentiated cells or somatic stem cells can be fabricated, and that the microfibres reconstitute intrinsic morphologies and functions of living tissues. We also show that these functional fibres can be assembled, by weaving and reeling, into macroscopic cellular structures with various spatial patterns. Moreover, fibres encapsulating primary pancreatic islet cells and transplanted through a microcatheter into the subrenal capsular space of diabetic mice normalized blood glucose concentrations for about two weeks. These microfibres may find use as templates for the reconstruction of fibre-shaped functional tissues that mimic muscle fibres, blood vessels or nerve networks in vivo.
Cobalt-catalyzed metal hydride hydrogen atom transfer (MHAT) in combination with photoredox catalysis has emerged as a powerful synthetic method, owing to its redox nature and applicability to ...various radical precursors. Herein, we describe a cross-radical coupling reaction under cobalt/photoredox dual catalysis. MHAT and homolytic substitution (SH2) processes enabled Markovnikov-selective hydrobenzylation of di/trisubstituted alkenes, affording products with a quaternary carbon center in a redox-neutral manner.
