In novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID‐19), the increased frequency and overactivation of T helper (Th) 17 cells and subsequent production of large amounts of proinflammatory cytokines result in ...hyperinflammation and disease progression. The current study aimed to investigate the therapeutic effects of nanocurcumin on the frequency and responses of Th17 cells in mild and severe COVID‐19 patients. In this study, 40 severe COVID‐19 intensive care unit‐admitted patients and 40 patients in mild condition were included. The frequency of Th17 cells, the messenger RNA expression of Th17 cell‐related factors (RAR‐related orphan receptor γt, interleukin IL‐17, IL‐21, IL‐23, and granulocyte‐macrophage colony‐stimulating factor), and the serum levels of cytokines were measured in both nanocurcumin and placebo‐treated groups before and after treatment. A significant decrease in the number of Th17 cells, downregulation of Th17 cell‐related factors, and decreased levels of Th17 cell‐related cytokines were found in mild and severe COVID‐19 patients treated by nanocurcumin compared to the placebo group. Moreover, the abovementioned parameters were significantly decreased in the nanocurcumin‐treated group after treatment versus before treatment. Curcumin could reduce the frequency of Th17 cells and their related inflammatory factors in both mild and severe COVID‐19 patients. Hence, it could be considered as a potential modulatory compound in improving the patient's inflammatory condition.

As a new nanostructure, a graphene is a compound of carbon atoms with a two-dimensional structure that has attracted the attention of many nanoscale researchers due to its novel physical and chemical ...properties. The presence of all graphene atoms in the surface and its unique electrical properties, as well as the ability to functionalize and combine with another nanomaterial, has introduced graphene as a new and suitable candidate material for gas sensing. Over the years, many researchers have turned their attention to carbon nanomaterial. The unique optical, mechanical, and electronic properties of these nanostructures have led them to use these nanomaterials to develop tiny devices, such as low-consumption sensors. Carbon nanomaterial poses a threat to another nanomaterial in terms of their use in gas sensors. This review article discusses the use of carbon nanoparticles and graphene in gas sensors, examines the nodes in the commercialization pathway of these compounds, and presents the latest achievements. Finally, the perspectives of the challenges and opportunities in the field of sensors based on carbon nanomaterial and graphene are examined.

In this project, poly (citric acid) (PCA) functionalized on nano Ag/Cu was synthesized by chemical analysis method. The nano probe was applied to detection of cysteine by using the magnesium (II) ions as a cross linker. The characterization of Ag/Cu/PCA nano probe was studied by using the UV–visible, morphological microscopy, dynamic light scattering, and zeta potential analyzer. The zeta potential and size of Ag/Cu/PCA were −38.0 mV and 18.0 nm, respectively. The prepared nano probe shows rapid response for detection of cysteine. The detection limit of Ag/Cu/PCA nano probe was 0.07 nM. Additional, the Ag/Cu/PCA nanoparticles was applied to cysteine detection from real samples in the presence of amino acids compounds. Rapidly and sensitive determination of Streptococcus pneumoniae is substantial for food safety and human health. The DNA-Ag/Cu/PCA were prepared as a template in chemical method and experimented as a bio-receptor for the cell bacteria detection as peroxidase-like catalytic process. The DNA-Ag/Cu/PCA nano probe shows a linear dynamic concertation range of Streptococcus pneumoniae via detection limit about 65 CFU/mL. The project presents that the DNA-Ag/Cu/PCA could detect the biological and bacterial samples via high accuracy.

Dynamic mechanical analysis and nanoindentation tests were carried out to evaluate relaxation behavior and mechanical properties of bulk metallic glasses, respectively. The nanoindentation results indicated declining serrations in load–displacement curves of hydrogen-affected samples. This event was related to the annihilation of localized deformation in hydrogen-affected samples under the external load. This research focused on synthesizing a CdIn2Se4@Ch nanocomposite by doping CdIn2Se4 into chitosan using a photolysis assisted ultrasonic process. The aim was to enhance the photodegradation ...efficiency of ofloxacin and 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid under sunlight. The synthesized CdIn2Se4@Ch nanocomposite was investigated via different techniques, including XRD, XPS, FTIR, TEM, DSC, TGA, UV–Vis and PL. The study also investigated the influence of various reaction parameters, including the effects of inorganic and organic ions. The synthesized nanocomposite demonstrated exceptional efficiency, achieving 86 % and 95 % removal rates, with corresponding rate constants of 0.025 and 0.047 min-1. This performance surpasses that of CdIn2Se4 by approximately 1.35 and 2.25 times, respectively. The values of COD were decreased to 78 and 86 % for ofloxacin and 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic, while the TOC values decreased to 71 and 84 %, respectively, from their premier values. The improvement in performance is associated with the introduction of CdIn2Se4 into chitosan, resulting in the self-integration of Cd into the catalyst. This creates a localized accumulation point for electrons, enhancing the efficiency of charge separation and further reducing the surface charge of chitosan. Experimental evidence suggests that superoxide and hydroxyl radicals play a significant role in the photodegradation of pollutants. Additionally, the nanocomposite exhibits excellent stability and can be reused up to five times, indicating remarkable stability and reusability of the developed photocatalyst.
A binary polyaniline/TiO2 and varied weight ratio TiO2/PANI nanocomposite was successfully fabricated as an electrode for energy storage application. The TiO2 nanoparticles were synthesized via ...manual irradiation system with wavelength 256 nm and power 125 W. Polyaniline/TiO2 was then prepared by in situ polymerizing TiO2 onto aniline monomer. Polyaniline nanofibers are loaded with TiO2 to product core-shell system. The polyaniline/TiO2 nanocomposite were characterized using XRD, XPS, TEM, TGA, CP and LCR measurements. The structure properties were examined by XRD and XPS, which confirmed preparing polyaniline/TiO2 binary nanocomposite. The thermal stability was investigated using TGA and obtained high stability of polyaniline/TiO2 compared with polyaniline, while the electrochemical properties were examined by LCR measurements. The LCR measurements were appeared dielectric constant and dielectric loss for incorporating TiO2 through PANI. Varied weights ratio TiO2 was worked in increasing the stored energy ability of polyaniline. Notably, the electrochemical investigate results appear that the PANI/TiO2 has a high specific capacitance (250 F/g) compared with pure PANI (200 F/g).

Development of lithium-ion batteries (Li-ion batteries) with high safety and solidity features has become a main challenge of researchers when practical implementations for ...large-scale energy storage systems are prioritized. In this work, we introduce a useful and efficient strategy to manufacture a long-standing and high-rate carbon-doped TiO2 (C-TiO2) as an anode material. Titanium (TiO2) and C-TiO2 were successfully prepared through hydrothermal method in order to improve the electrical performance of Li-battery. The structure and thermal properties were investigated by XRD, Raman and TGA; whereas the electrical properties were evaluated by Glvanostatic discharge–charge measurements. The density function theory (DFT) results revealed that TiO2 doped with carbon atoms causes considerable stress inside the crystal lattice of TiO2, and to avoid or minimize this stress the lattice of TiO2 underwent relaxation and then optimized. The performance of the prepared electrodes in Li-battery was analyzed by 100 cycles at different calcination temperatures of 400 and 450 °C. The results also showed the charge capacities of 400 and 500 mAhg−1 at 100 mAg−1.

In this study, gold (Au), nanoclusters (NC) and heterogeneous titanium dioxide (TiO2) were successfully synthesized by low-temperature photoelectron spectroscopy. The chemical ...structure of Au-TiO2 was characterized by XRD, EDX, XPS and HR-TEM. Optical properties were evaluated using PL and UV–Vis, and electrical properties were evaluated using CV, CP, UPS and EIS parameters. The results showed that Au nanocluster (NCs) were converted into Au nanoparticles (NPs) during high sunlight, and the transfer mechanism was examined. In addition, the produced nanoparticles can form a Schottky barrier with TiO2, which affects the band structure. Moreover, the simultaneous synthesis of nanoparticles and nanoclusters adds an extra dimension to the understanding of the photoelectronic behavior of structured photoelectrodes. Moreover, this research shows that good control of the photography process can result in more photos. This improvement is related to several factors, including the plasmonic field and coupling line bending.

Biogas is obtained from the breakdown of biomass by microorganisms and bacteria in the absence of oxygen. Biogas is considered a renewable source of energy, similar to solar energy ...and wind energy. Biogas can be produced from biomass or bio-waste; thus, it is environmentally friendly. Biogas is obtained in a suspended monoxide decomposition process by anaerobic bacteria or in a fermentation process of decomposable materials such as agricultural manure, sewage, municipal waste, green waste (gardens and parks), plant material and agricultural products. Biogas is a renewable natural energy source that leaves effective effects on nature and industries. This gas is produced from the decomposition of organic materials, including animal manure, food waste and sewage. Fertilizers and waste produce biogas through anaerobic digestion (ie without the presence of oxygen). Biogas is a mixture of gases generated by decaying biodegradable material without the presence of oxygen. Its main contents are 50–70 % of methane (CH4) by volume, 30–50 % of carbon dioxide (CO2), and traces of other gases, like hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and water vapor (H2O). CO2, H2S, and water vapor content in biogas may affect the performance and life of the energy conversion devices; consequently, their removal before end-use is essential for improving the quality of biogas. This combination is an ideal option for making renewable energy. The most important advantages of biogas (production of energy, reduction of the amount of discarded waste, reduction of pathogens, conversion of waste containing organic matter into high quality fertilizer, protection of vegetation, soil, water, increasing productivity in the field of livestock and agriculture) and It is also one of the disadvantages of biogas (incomplete and small technologies, containing impurities, the effect of temperature on biogas production, unsuitable for urban and dense areas, not affordable). For economical use of biogas, the fermentation process can be carried out under controlled conditions in a relatively simple device called a digestion reservoir. This review summarizes the current state-of-the-art and presents future perspectives related to the anaerobic digestion process for biogas production. Moreover, a historical retrospective of biogas sector from the early years of its development till its recent advancements give an outlook of the opportunities that are opening up for process optimization.
