We present a study of resonances in exclusive decays of B mesons to ¯¯¯ D ( * ) D ( * ) K . We report the observation of the decays B → ¯¯¯ D ( * ) D + s 1 ( 2536 ) where the D + s 1 ( 2536 ) is ...reconstructed in the D * 0 K + and D * + K 0 S decay channels. We report also the observation of the decays B → ψ ( 3770 ) K where the ψ ( 3770 ) decays to ¯¯¯ D 0 D 0 and D − D + . In addition, we present the observation of an enhancement for the ¯¯¯ D * 0 D 0 invariant mass in the decays B → ¯¯¯ D * 0 D 0 K , at a mass of ( 3875.1 + 0.7 − 0.5 ± 0.5 ) MeV / c 2 with a width of ( 3.0 + 1.9 − 1.4 ± 0.9 ) MeV (the first errors are statistical and the second are systematic). Branching fractions and spin studies are shown for the three resonances. The results are based on 347 fb − 1 of data collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II B factory.
We present measurements of the branching fraction and CP-violating asymmetries in the decay B0-->f0(980)K0S. The results are obtained from a data sample of 123 x 10(6) Upsilon(4S)-->BB decays. From a ...time-dependent maximum likelihood fit, we measure the branching fraction B(B0-->f0(980)(-->pi+pi-)K0)=(6.0+/-0.9+/-0.6+/-1.2)x10(-6), the mixing-induced CP violation parameter S=-1.62(+0.56)(-0.51)+/-0.09+/-0.04, and the direct CP violation parameter C=0.27+/-0.36+/-0.10+/-0.07, where the first errors are statistical, the second systematic, and the third due to model uncertainties. We measure the f0(980) mass and width to be mf0(980)=(980.6+/-4.1+/-0.5+/-4.0) MeV/c2 and Gammaf0(980)=(43(+12)(-9)+/-3+/-9) MeV/c2, respectively.
DELPHI results are presented on the inclusive production of two (K Kbar pi)^0 states in the mass region 1.2-1.6 GeV/c^2 in hadronic Z decays at LEP I. The measured masses (widths) are 1274+-6 MeV/c^2 ...(29+-12 MeV/c^2) and 1426+-6 MeV/c^2 (51+-14 MeV/c^2) respectively. A partial-wave analysis of the (K Kbar pi)^0 system shows that the first peak is consistent with the I^G(J^PC) = 0^+(1^++)/(O^-+) a_0(980)pi and the second with the I^G(J^PC) = 0^+(1^++) K*(892)Kbar + c.c assignments. The total hadronic production rates per hadronic Z decay are (0.165 +- 0.051) and (0.056 + 0.012) respectively. These measurements are consistent with the two states being the f_1(1285) and f_1(1420) mesons.
A search for the decays B-->rho(770)gamma and B0-->omega(782)gamma is performed on a sample of 211 x 10(6) Upsilon(4S)-->BB events collected by the BABAR detector at the SLAC PEP-II asymmetric-energy ...e(+)e(-) storage ring. No evidence for the decays is seen. We set the following limits on the individual branching fractions: B(B+-->rho(+)gamma)<1.8 x 10(-6), B(B0-->rho(0)gamma)<0.4 x 10(-6), and B(B0-->omegagamma)<1.0 x 10(-6) at the 90% confidence level. We use the quark model to limit the combined branching fraction B B-->(rho/omega)gamma<1.2 x 10(-6), from which we determine a constraint on the ratio of Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix elements |V(td)|/|V(ts)|.
A search fur events with one jet and at most one isolated lepton used data taken at LEP-2 by the DELPHI detector. These data were accumulated at a center-of-mass energy of 183 GeV and correspond to ...an integrated luminosity of 47.7 pb(-1) Production of sin
With a sample of about 227x10(6) BB pairs recorded with the BABAR detector we perform a full angular analysis of the decay B0-->phiK(*0)(892). We make novel measurements of five parameters sensitive ...to CP violation. We also measure the branching fraction to be (9.2+/-0.9+/-0.5)x10(-6) and determine the fractions of longitudinal and parity-odd transverse contributions as f(L)=0.52+/-0.05+/-0.02 and f( perpendicular)=0.22+/-0.05+/-0.02. The phases of the parity-even and parity-odd transverse amplitudes relative to the longitudinal amplitude are found to be phi( parallel)=2.34(+0.23)(-0.20)+/-0.05 rad and phi( perpendicular)=2.47+/-0.25+/-0.05 rad. We also observe the decay B0-->phiK(*0)(1430).
Using a data sample of 89 x 10(6) Upsilon(4S)-->BB decays collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric B Factory at SLAC, we measure the B0(B (0))-->rho(+)rho(-) branching fraction as ...30+/-4(stat)+/-5(syst)x10(-6) and a longitudinal polarization fraction of f(L)=0.99+/-0.03(stat)+0.04-0.03(syst). We measure the time-dependent-asymmetry parameters of the longitudinally polarized component of this decay as C(L)=-0.17+/-0.27(stat)+/-0.14(syst) and S(L)=-0.42+/-0.42(stat)+/-0.14(syst). We exclude values of alpha between 19 degrees and 71 degrees (90% C.L.).
A search for the decays B --> rho(770) gamma and B0 --> omega(782)gamma is performed on a sample of 211x10^6 Y(4S)->BBbar events collected by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e+e- ...storage ring. No evidence for the decays is seen. We set the following limits on the individual branching fractions: BF(B --> rho+ gamma)<1.8 x 10^-6, BF(B --> rho0 gamma)<0.4 x 10^-6, and BF(B --> omega gamma)<1.0 x 10^-6 at the 90% confidence level (C.L.). We use the quark model to limit the combined branching fraction BFbarB --> (rho/omega) gamma<1.2 x 10^-6, from which we determine a constraint on the ratio of Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix elements |V_td|/|V_ts|.
