The relativistically broadened Fe K\(\alpha\) line, originating from the accretion disc in a vicinity of a super massive black hole, is observed in only less than 50\% of type 1 Active Galactic ...Nuclei (AGN). In this study we investigate could this lack of detections be explained by the effects of certain parameters of the accretion disc and black hole, such as the inclination, the inner and outer radius of disc and emissivity index. In order to determine how these parameters affect the Fe K \(\alpha\) line shape, we simulated about 60,000 Fe K \(\alpha\) line profiles emitted from the relativistic disc. Based on simulated line profiles, we conclude that the lack of the Fe K\(\alpha\) line detection in type 1 AGN could, be caused by the specific emitting disc parameters, but also by the limits in the spectral resolution and sensitivity of the X-ray detectors.
For the last couple of decades, environmental protection awareness within port areas is gaining ever more importance. Ports can have a tremendous impact on the environment, especially in terms of air ...pollution. The main pollution sources are various port activities such as road and rail traffic, cargo handling and marine vessel operations. Air quality models can be of great help in estimating the effect on the ambient air quality from one or more sources emitting pollutants to the atmosphere. One of those models is the widely used Gaussian Plume dispersion approach. Based on existing measurements and port activity data, models can simulate the dispersion of air pollutants caused by activities and operations taking place within the port. By using historical data, they can simulate the current state of the air quality in the port and with the help of weather predictions simulate possible future situation. Simulations can assist the port manager/operator in the decision-making process in order to optimize various activities within the port and minimize their impact on the environment. One of the main objectives of the Horizon 2020 Project PIXEL (Port IoT for environmental leverage) is the deployment of environmental pollution models which can aid in the decision-making processes within the port domain. This paper reviews the current advances in the field of air pollution modelling with a special emphasis on port scenarios.
Honey may be an ideal sweetener for yoghurt due to its sugar concentration and may improve the sensory quality of the finished product. Also, due to its content of nondigestible dietary fiber ...(oligosaccharides) honey has prebiotic effects. It is well known ability of whey protein concentrate (WPC) to support formation of whey protein aggregates which highly improved all physical properties of yoghurt. The aim of this work was to study the effect of addition of acacia honey (H - 6 %) on the sensory and microbiological properties of set yoghurt, after the production as well as during 21 days of storage at 5 deg C, whose texture and rheology are improved by supplementation of WPC ( 1%) to raw milk (1.5% fat). Yoghurt culture (0.0025%) VIVOLAC DriSet Yoghurt 442: 10% Lactobacillus delbrueckii subsp. bulgaricus and 90% Streptococcus thermophilus (Vivolac Culture Corporation, Indiana, USA) were added to milk at the incubation temperature (41 deg C). It was concluded that addition of honey in combination with WPC improved sensory properties of produced yoghurt. Honey addition improved self life and increase number of yoghurt bacteria.
By means of the so-called "floating technique" we investigated the virucidal effect of the "Peral-S" disinfectant towards the Herpes simplex type I and the Coxsackie B6 viruses. We determined that ..."Peral-S" expresses its virucidal effect on both of the mentioned viruses within 30 seconds in the concentration of 0.1%. The results received confirm the already known features of per-acid based disinfectants as powerful virucides.

Recently there is an interest in etheric oil of plant origin for the use as food additive with antimicrobial properties. Therefore the etheric oil of Norway spruce (Picea abies) was investigated. The ...etheric oil of Picea abies was tested on different microbiological media (neutral agar, blood agar, Mueller Hinton agar) for antibacterial activity against five bacteria (Salmonella enteritidis, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus cereus, and Bacillus subtilis). The zones of inhibition showed weaker antibacterial effect of etheric oil on Mueller Hinton agar than other two media. In the paper was also compared the antibacterial activity of etheric oil of Picea abies to antibacterial activity of five antibiotics. Etheric oils howed the better activity against Salmonella enteritidis and Escherichia coli than penicillin, and also better activity against Bacillus subtilis than cefriaxon and against Staphylococcus aureus than streptomycin.

Pesticides are used in primary agricultural production, food industry, transportation and households. The presence of harmful pesticide residues in or on food has caused a great concern among the ...consumers. The aim of our research was to investigate the presence of malathion, heptachlor and lindane in raw fruit and vegetables. The total of 40 samples (apples, cabbages, onion, potatoes) was analyzed using gas chormatography. The content of pesticide residue in analyzed samples was 0.0001-0.0009, 0.0321- 0.0813 and 0.1348-2.2426 mg/kg for heptachlor, lindane and malathion respectively. The average contents of lindane were detected at levels 0.0578, 0.0511, 0.0573 and 0.0562 mg/kg in onion, cabbage, potato and apple, respectively. The average contents of malathion were detected at levels 0.2392, 0.2757, 0.2510 and 1.399 mg/kg in onion, cabbage, apple and potato, respectively. The average contents of heptachlor were detected at levels 0.0004, 0.00038, 0.0004 and 0.00047 mg/kg in onion, cabbage, apple and potato, respectively. In the paper was discussed the raw material quality in sense of chemical hazards in the processing of food associated to detected pesticide in raw vegetables and fruit.
Mechanical thrombectomy (MT) is recommended in patients with anterior large vessel occlusion from 6 to 24 hours after stroke onset in selected patients with baseline ischemia defined by Alberta ...stroke program early CT score (ASPECTS) ≥ 6. Recent studies have shown that carefully selected patients with lower ASPECTS 3-5 and even with ASPECTS 0-2 could benefit from MT. A 45-year-old patient was admitted to our emergency department 14 hours after the stroke onset. The neurological assessment revealed severe dysarthria, gaze palsy to the right, and severe left arm and leg palsy. His National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score was 10. The emergent brain CT scan showed large right middle cerebral artery territory infarction with right internal carotid artery and right M2 segment occlusion on CT angiography. The ASPECTS was 2. CT perfusion showed a good core/penumbra mismatch ratio in temporal/peri-insular parts and basal ganglia. The MT was
performed 14 hours after the stroke onset with a TICI 2b score. The treatment was complicated by the progression of severe brain edema and brain herniation which required emergent decompressive craniectomy. The patient was discharged to the neurorehabilitation center after 26 hospital days with an NIHSS 10. On the last outpatient visit, after three months, the patient scored 5 on NIHHS and 3 on the 3-month Modified Rankin Score. Our patient was successfully treated by MT despite a low ASPECTS and extended time window. Further randomized control trials are necessary to define which subgroup of these patients can benefit from MT.
