Due to having difficulty in solving governing nonlinear differential equations of a non-uniform microbeam, a few numbers of authors have studied such fields. In the present study, for the first time, ...the size-dependent vibration behavior of a rotating functionally graded (FG) tapered microbeam based on the modified couple stress theory is investigated using differential quadrature element method (DQEM). It is assumed that physical and mechanical properties of the FG microbeam are varying along the thickness that will be defined as a power law equation. The governing equations are determined using Hamilton’s principle, and DQEM is presented to obtain the results for cantilever and propped cantilever boundary conditions. The accuracy and validity of the results are shown in several numerical examples. In order to display the influence of size on the first two natural frequencies and consequently changing of some important microbeam parameters such as material length scale, rate of cross section, angular velocity and gradient index of the FG material, several diagrams and tables are represented. The results of this article can be used in designing and optimizing elastic and rotary-type micro-electro-mechanical systems like micro-motors and micro-robots including rotating parts.
Among the different contaminants, detergent as an important pollutant has serious risks to natural ecosystems. Furthermore, detergents can pass into the wastewater treatment plants and have bad ...effect on their performance. They are part of human life and consumed for different aims especially hygienic purposes. Therefore, detergent components can enter to soil and water bodies from different sources. Detergents affect fauna and flora, and they have direct and indirect effects on ecosystems. Eutrophication, foaming, and altering parameters such as temperature, salinity, turbidity, and pH are more important, and their effects need to be managed and controlled. Researchers confirmed that aerobic processes are able to degrade the most of detergents but anaerobic degradation is not possible because of restricted metabolic pathways and toxicity of them. Therefore, production of environment-friendly detergent is an important issue around the world.

In this study we investigated the separate and joint ...associations of dietary and lifestyle inflammation scores (DIS and LIS, respectively) with MAFLD risk.
For this nested case-control study we identified and recruited 968 patients with MAFLD (defined as having a fatty liver index ≥60 plus ≥1 of the following conditions: overweight or obese, type II diabetes mellitus, evidence of metabolic dysregulation) and 964 controls from among 35–70-y-old men and women in the baseline phase of the Sabzevar Persian Cohort Study. We collected demographic, lifestyle, anthropometric, biochemical, and dietary intake information (via a validated FFQ) from which we calculated a circulating inflammation biomarker–weighted, predominantly whole foods and beverages–based, 19-component DIS and a 3-component LIS. We estimated DIS- and LIS-MAFLD associations using multivariable unconditional logistic regression. We also calculated equal-weight DIS and LIS to capture all potential mechanisms (inflammation plus other mechanisms) for associations of diet and lifestyle with MAFLD risk.
Among those in the highest relative to the lowest DIS and LIS tertiles, the multivariable-adjusted ORs and their 95% CIs were OR: 1.84; 95% CI: 1.61, 2.07; Ptrend < 0.001, and OR: 1.96; 95% CI: 1.69, 2.21; Ptrend < 0.001, respectively. For those in the highest relative to the lowest joint DIS and LIS tertile, the values were OR: 2.56; 95% CI: 2.19, 2.93; Pinteraction < 0.001. The findings were similar by sex. The third tertile values for the equal-weight DIS- and LIS-MAFLD associations were OR: 1.87; 95% CI: 1.41, 2.34; and OR: 2.16; 95% CI: 1.85, 2.46, respectively.
Our results suggest that higher balances of pro- relative to anti-inflammatory dietary and lifestyle exposures, separately and especially jointly, may be associated with higher MAFLD risk among adults. Also, inflammation may be the primary mechanism through which diet affects MAFLD risk.

The important parts of this article are providing literature information about dyes and their effects on the environment and human health, adsorption properties and mechanism, adsorbent characteristics, and recent information on various aspects of modified activated carbons with nanosized metal oxides (AC- NMOs) in the removal of dyes. This review also summarized the effect of main environmental and operational parameters such as adsorbent dosage, pH, initial dye concentration, contact time, and temperature on the dye adsorption using AC-NMOs. Furthermore, the applied isotherm and kinetic models have been discussed.
Electronics industry is one of the fastest evolving, innovative, and most competitive industries. In order to meet the high consumption demands on electronics components, quality standards of the ...products must be well-maintained. Automatic optical inspection (AOI) is one of the non-destructive techniques used in quality inspection of various products. This technique is considered robust and can replace human inspectors who are subjected to dull and fatigue in performing inspection tasks. A fully automated optical inspection system consists of hardware and software setups. Hardware setup include image sensor and illumination settings and is responsible to acquire the digital image, while the software part implements an inspection algorithm to extract the features of the acquired images and classify them into defected and non-defected based on the user requirements. A sorting mechanism can be used to separate the defective products from the good ones. This article provides a comprehensive review of the various AOI systems used in electronics, micro-electronics, and opto-electronics industries. In this review the defects of the commonly inspected electronic components, such as semiconductor wafers, flat panel displays, printed circuit boards and light emitting diodes, are first explained. Hardware setups used in acquiring images are then discussed in terms of the camera and lighting source selection and configuration. The inspection algorithms used for detecting the defects in the electronic components are discussed in terms of the preprocessing, feature extraction and classification tools used for this purpose. Recent articles that used deep learning algorithms are also reviewed. The article concludes by highlighting the current trends and possible future research directions.
Nitro-containing compounds are a well-known class of anti-infective agents, especially in the field of anti-parasitic drug discovery. HAT or sleeping sickness is a neglected tropical disease caused ...by a protozoan parasite, Trypanosoma brucei. Following the approval of fexinidazole as the first oral treatment for both stages of T. b. gambiense HAT, there is an increased interest in developing new nitro-containing compounds against parasitic diseases. In our previous projects, we synthesized several megazole derivatives that presented high activity against Leishmania major promastigotes. Here, we screened and evaluated their trypanocidal activity. Most of the compounds showed submicromolar IC50 against the BSF form of T. b. rhodesiense (STIB 900). To the best of our knowledge, compound 18c is one of the most potent nitro-containing agents reported against HAT in vitro. Compound 18g revealed an acceptable cure rate in the acute mouse model of HAT, accompanied with noteworthy in vitro activity against T. brucei, T. cruzi, and L. donovani. Taken together, these results suggest that these compounds are promising candidates to evaluate their pharmacokinetic and biological profiles in the future.
In this paper we propose a novel approach of rule learning called Relaxed Separate-and- Conquer (RSC): a modification of the standard Separate-and-Conquer (SeCo) methodology that does not require ...elimination of covered rows. This method can be seen as a generalization of the methods of SeCo and weighted covering that does not suffer from fragmentation. We present an empirical investigation of the proposed RSC approach in the area of Predictive Maintenance (PdM) of complex manufacturing machines, to predict forthcoming failures of these machines. In particular, we use for experiments a real industrial case study of a machine which manufactures the plastic bottle. We compare the RSC approach with a Decision Tree (DT) based and SeCo algorithms and demonstrate that RSC significantly outperforms both DT based and SeCo rule learners. We conclude that the proposed RSC approach is promising for PdM guided by rule learning.
