Flavonoids are phytochemical compounds present in many plants, fruits, vegetables, and leaves, with potential applications in medicinal chemistry. Flavonoids possess a number of medicinal benefits, ...including anticancer, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antiviral properties. They also have neuroprotective and cardio-protective effects. These biological activities depend upon the type of flavonoid, its (possible) mode of action, and its bioavailability. These cost-effective medicinal components have significant biological activities, and their effectiveness has been proved for a variety of diseases. The most recent work is focused on their isolation, synthesis of their analogs, and their effects on human health using a variety of techniques and animal models. Thousands of flavonoids have been successfully isolated, and this number increases steadily. We have therefore made an effort to summarize the isolated flavonoids with useful activities in order to gain a better understanding of their effects on human health.

Ficus religiosa,
as a biosorbent. The biosorbent was processed, powdered, and then characterized via SEM and FTIR spectroscopy before and after exposure to ARS. For maximum dye-decontamination of industrial effluents, adsorption parameters including dosage of the biosorbent, contact time between the dye and the biosorbent, shaking time and temperature of the adsorption process were optimized. SEM images confirmed the presence of high surface area active binding sites, and FTIR analysis shows that the adsorption of ARS on the adsorbent is due to groups like ‒OH, –NH, –CH, C=O and C=C. The kinetics study of the adsorption follows pseudo-second order kinetic model. Best fit isotherm to the equilibrium data was obtained for Langmuir and Freundlich models. The decontamination ARS from aqueous phase by the adsorption process could be an inexpensive and viable way of protecting humans from carcinogenicity, DNA mutagenicity, jaundices, allergies and skin irritations.

Sixty patients aged 18- 50 years diagnosed with symptomatic irreversible pulpitis were selected according to the inclusion criterion. After obtaining informed consent, root canal therapy (RCT) was initiated under rubber dam. Pulpectomy was done followed by canal preparation. The lottery method was utilised for the division of patients. Group A (experimental) received dexamethasone (4mg/ml in 5ml syringe) as a final rinse, while Group B (control group) recalled after 1 week and asked whether their pain had relieved or not as a yes/no question. After data collection teeth were obturated and permanent restoration was placed. Data were analysed using Chi-square test.
The efficacy of dexamethasone as a final intracanal rinse was greater than saline 86.67% and 20.0%, respectively (p < 0.05) in relieving postoperative pain in teeth with symptomatic irreversible pulpitis.
Dexamethasone was proved to be more efficacious than saline in alleviating postoperative pain when used as a final intracanal rinse after canal instrumentation.

Objective: To compare the effects of motor control exercises, general exercises and spinal manipulative therapy on pain, functional status and disability in chronic low back pain patients. Study ...Design: Randomized Clinical Trial (IRCT:20200511047391N1) Place and Duration of Study: Riphah International University, Islamabad Pakistan, from Jun to Nov 2020. Methodology: Study was conducted on 36 chronic low back pain patients aged 18-50 years. All were randomly allocated to three groups: general exercises group, motor control group, and manipulative therapy; all were treated with eight sessions in four weeks. Numerical pain rating scale, Patient-specific functional scale and Oswestry disability index were used. Results: Findings revealed that differences between the three groups were statistically significant (p<0.05) concerning pain score, patient-specific functional scale, and Disability index. Conclusion: It was concluded that motor control exercises are most effective in treating chronic low backache. The results of our study showed that there is a significant difference in pain, function and disability in all the groups.
