La parálisis cerebral (PC) es definida como uno de los trastornos neurológicos no progresivos que puede originarse por lesiones o anomalías en el cerebro inmaduro o en desarrollo. La parálisis ...cerebral de tipo espástica, concomitan con alteraciones a nivel motor y de lenguaje, alterando los procesos de transmisión de mensajes durante la comunicación. En respuesta a dichas alteraciones a nivel comunicativo se crean los Sistemas de Comunicación Aumentativa y Alternativa (SAAC), herramientas que permiten la interacción con el medio, ya sea complementando las emisiones orales o sustituyéndolas por símbolos, palabras escritas, lectoresdigitales, entre otros. El objetivo de la presente investigación es implementar un sistema de comunicación alternativo en un deportista con parálisis cerebral, mediante el uso de la aplicación Let Me Talk®. Se inicia con una evaluación utilizando como instrumento el Testde Barcelona, para la identificación de habilidades de comunicación y lenguaje. El proceso de adaptación del Sistema Pictográfico de Comunicación se desarrolló en 10 sesiones, en las cuales el deportista participó mediante el uso de la aplicación; las sesiones se registraron en un formato de observación participante de autoría propia. En el análisis de los resultados, se concluye que el SAACimplementado le permitió al deportista la participación durante las conversaciones planteadas, estructurando oraciones simples y complejas con el uso de las categorías y flexiones gramaticales, y la ejecución de preguntas movilizadoras complementadas por expresiones no verbales, que favorecieron la participación independiente en las situaciones comunicativas.

The objective of the study to describe the ...clinical features of COVID-19 patients diagnosed in a tertiary-care center in Mexico City and to assess differences according to the treatment setting (ambulatory vs. hospital) and to the need of intensive care (IC).
We conducted a prospective cohort, including consecutive patients with COVID-19 from February 26, 2020 to April 11, 2020.
We identified 309 patients (140 inpatients and 169 outpatients). The median age was 43 years (interquartile range, 33-54), 59.2% men, and 18.6% healthcare workers (12.3% from our center). The median body mass index (BMI) was 29.00 kg/m
and 39.6% had obesity. Compared to outpatients, inpatients were older, had comorbidities, cough, and dyspnea more frequently. Twenty-nine (20.7%) inpatients required treatment in the IC unit (ICU). History of diabetes (type 1 or 2) and abdominal pain were more common in ICU patients compared to non-ICU patients. ICU patients had higher BMIs, higher respiratory rates, and lower room-air capillary oxygen saturations. ICU patients showed a more severe inflammatory response as assessed by white blood cell count, neutrophil and platelet count, C-reactive protein, ferritin, procalcitonin, and albumin levels. By the end of the study period, 65 inpatients had been discharged because of improvement, 70 continued hospitalized, and five had died.
Patients with comorbidities, either middle-age obese or elderly complaining of fever, cough, or dyspnea, were more likely to be admitted. At admission, patients with diabetes, high BMI, and clinical or laboratory findings consistent with a severe inflammatory state were more likely to require IC.

La transformación digital de una pyme en la actualidad es uno de los procesos que más interés despierta en la mayoría de sectores empresariales. Según un estudio de market research para el BBVA, ...publicado en 2017, el 60% de las empresas españolas consideran imprescindible la digitalización para obtener mayores beneficios y más éxito en sus negocios.
Sin embargo, muchas veces se confunde el término de transformación digital y los empresarios creen que implica poco más que usar las redes sociales o tener una página web. Lo que está claro es que hay que adaptarse a la nueva forma de consumo y llegar allí donde se encuentra nuestro cliente. Si no estamos en su mismo nivel, será difícil destacar y hacerse un hueco entre la competencia, cada vez más está más preparada y que se actualiza constantemente.
Lo primero que debes saber es qué es exactamente la transformación digital, es decir, cuando hablamos de un proceso que implica no sólo a los directivos de la organización sino a cada uno de los departamentos y empleados, que debes involucrarse al máximo. This dossier aims to compare and contrast the Southern European democratic transitions of the 1970s. Our starting point is that although the three Transitions were conceptually linked from the ...beginning as the vanguard of Huntington’s famous “third wave” of democratic transitions, there has been little substantive comparative historical research that considers all three cases together. This special issue takes the Southern European “model” as its point of departure, re-evaluating it in the wake of almost five decades of historiography. In so doing, we also hope to open new lines of comparative analysis for the next generation of transition scholars. To foster a truly comparative approach, the editors pursued a strategy of co-authorship around common themes, hoping this would facilitate deeper conversations across national divides and languages. Thus, the editors identified what we viewed as major areas of historical research on the Transitions and asked our co-authors to collab-orate in comparing and contrasting the parameters of each theme across the three cases. The first article explores the institutional aspects of the transitions “from above”, while the second focuses on social movements and the Transitions “from below.” The third article compares approaches to gen-der and the Transitions, while the fourth considers the transnational and international dimensions. The fifth article tackles the scholarship on historical memory and the Transitions, while the final article analyzes the similarities and differences among them. Ce dossier vise à comparer et à contraster les Transitions démocratiques de l’Europe du Sud des années 1970. Notre point de départ est que, bien que les trois Transitions aient été conceptuelle-ment liées dès le début en tant qu’avant-garde de la fameuse « troisième vague » de transitions démocratiques de Huntington, il y a eu peu de recherches historiques comparatives substantielles qui considèrent les trois cas ensemble. Ce numéro spécial prend le « modèle » de l’Europe du Sud comme point de départ, en le réévaluant à la suite de presque cinq décennies d’historiographie. Ce faisant, nous espérons également ouvrir de nouvelles pistes d’analyse comparative pour la pro-chaine génération de spécialistes de la transition. Pour favoriser une approche véritablement com-parative, les éditeurs ont adopté une stratégie de co-rédaction autour de thèmes communs, dans l’espoir de faciliter des échanges plus profonds au-delà des clivages nationaux et des langues. Ainsi, les éditeurs ont identifié ce que nous considérions comme les principaux domaines de recherche historique sur les Transitions et ont demandé à nos co-auteurs de collaborer à la comparaison et au contraste des paramètres de chaque thème dans les trois cas. Le premier article explore les aspects institutionnels des Transitions « d’en haut », tandis que le deuxième se concentre sur les mouvements sociaux et les transitions « d’en bas ». Nuestro punto de partida es que, aunque las tres Transiciones estuvieron con-ceptualmente vinculadas desde el principio como vanguardia de la famosa «tercera ola» de transi-ciones democráticas de Huntington, ha habido poca investigación histórica comparativa sustantiva que considere los tres casos conjuntamente. Este número especial toma como punto de partida el «modelo» del Sur de Europa, reevaluándolo tras casi cinco décadas de historiografía. Al hacerlo, esperamos también abrir nuevas líneas de análisis comparativo para la próxima generación de estudiosos de la Transición. Para fomentar un enfoque verdaderamente comparativo, los editores siguieron una estrategia de coautoría en torno a temas comunes, con la esperanza de que esto faci-litara conversaciones más profundas más allá de las divisiones nacionales y los idiomas. Así, los edi-tores identificamos lo que considerábamos las principales áreas de investigación histórica sobre las Transiciones y pedimos a nuestros coautores que colaboraran comparando y contrastando los parámetros de cada tema en los tres casos. Water is the major component of our organism representing about 60% of total body weight in adults and has to be obtained through the consumption of different foods and beverages as part of our diet. ...Water is an essential nutrient performing important functions, including transport of other nutrients, elimination of waste products, temperature regulation, lubrication and structural support. In this context, hydration through water has an essential role in health and wellness, which has been highly acknowledged in recent years among the health community experts such as nutritionists, dietitians, general practitioners, pharmacists, educators, as well as by physical activity and sport sciences experts and the general population.
Nebulized 3% hypertonic saline solution (HSS 3%) has proven to reduce hospital stay in infants with acute bronchiolitis, as compared with nebulized physiological saline solutions. There are no ...studies assessing the effectiveness of nebulized epinephrine in patients treated with HSS 3%. The aim of this study was to compare the length of stay (LOS) in hospitalized patients treated with HSS 3% with placebo vs. HSS 3% with epinephrine. Secondarily we aimed to assess the effectiveness and safety of both treatments.
We performed a prospective, randomized, double-blind, parallel-group study, including infants hospitalized for moderate acute bronchiolitis. Both groups received standard life support and were randomly treated with nebulized HSS 3% (7 mL) with either placebo 3 mL or epinephrine 3 mL. Nebulizations were initially administered every four hours and this interval was modified according to the patient's response.
Sixty-four infants were included, 32 patients in each group. No statistically significant differences were found between the two groups (P=0.948) in length of stay, disease severity, SatO2, respiratory rate or heart rate. On the third day of hospitalization, severity and respiratory rate in the HSS 3%+E presented a non statistically significant trend to an earlier improvement, (P=0.063 and P=0.096 repectively). No adverse events occurred. Four patients (two from each group) required transfer to the pediatric intensive care unit.
With a third of the final estimated sample, we find a trend to an earlier clinical recovery in the epinephrine group, even though no statistical significant differences in LOS were found. The study needs to be continued until the total sample is recruited.
