This paper presents a characterization and modeling of the workload of the currently most popular cloud storage system, Drop box. The workload is analyzed from two complementary perspectives. On one ...side, characteristics of the Drop box folders of a set of 333 volunteers, including number, type and sizes of files, replication level, and file update dynamics are analyzed. On the other side, the client behavior patterns are modeled based on the analysis of Drop box traffic collected from 3 universities. Our results can be explored to design realistic synthetic workloads, which in turn can support the design and evaluation of more cost-effective cloud storage services.

To evaluate the effectiveness of cavernostomy in patients with complex fungal balls.
We analyzed the medical records of patients undergoing cavernostomy between January 2005 and May 2013, evaluating: ...age, gender, preoperative signs and symptoms, predisposing disease, preoperative tests, location of the aspergilloma, etiologic agent, cavernostomy indication, postoperative outcome.
Ten patients were male. The mean age was 42.9 years (34-56). The most frequent symptom was repeated pulmonary bleeding. Cavernostomy was proposed for patients at high risk for lung resection. It was performed in 17 patients and all of them had pulmonary tuberculosis sequelae, with cavitations. The indication in all cases was hemoptysis and elimination of phlegm. The cavernostomies were performed in a single surgical procedure. In all 17 patients the cavity was left open after the withdrawal of the mycetoma. In all patients hemoptysis ceased immediately. Operative mortality was 9.5% (1).
cavernostomy is an effective treatment alternative in patients at high risk. It may be useful in some patients with complex aspergilloma, irrespective of lung function or bilateral disease. It is technically easy, has low-risk, saves parenchyma, and may be performed in a single operative time.

Peer-to-Peer live video streaming systems are becoming increasingly popular. Nevertheless, in spite of various studies of client behavior aspects and system optimizations, the current knowledge about ...the dynamic properties of the system, particularly how the P2P overlay network changes over time during a live transmission, is still superficial. In this paper, we provide a characterization of the dynamic properties of a popular P2P live streaming media application, namely Sop Cast. We use complex network metrics to analyze how the structure of the network evolves over time from the perspective of individual nodes (local view) and of the whole network (global view). We find that Sop Cast peers may be clustered into three profiles based on their centrality properties in the network. Moreover, in spite of peers changing their partners over time, they tend to remain with the same centrality profile. Also, the global network structure tends to remain roughly stable over time, except for a decaying clustering coefficient. Our findings can be used to generate more realistic synthetic P2P workloads and to drive future system designs and simulations.
