Heavy-flavour hadrons, i.e. hadrons carrying charm or beauty quarks, are a well-suited probe to study the Quark–Gluon Plasma (QGP) in relativistic heavy-ion collisions. For this reason, measurements ...of electrons from heavy-flavour hadron decays have been performed in pp, p–Pb and Pb–Pb collisions at the LHC with the ALICE detector. Results for the nuclear modification factors (RpA and RAA) support a final-state energy loss of heavy quarks in central Pb–Pb collisions and, in semi-central collisions a positive elliptic flow coefficient v2 of electrons from heavy-flavour hadron decays was observed. Furthermore, a double-ridge structure was observed in the measured two-particle angular correlation distribution, triggered by heavy-flavour decay electrons, in high-multiplicity p–Pb collisions relative to low-multiplicity p–Pb collisions and to pp collisions.
In relativistic heavy-ion physics two-particle correlations provide a very useful tool to investigate the Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP). This observable is sensitive to several of the properties of the ...QGP such as resonances, interaction of partons with the medium and collective effects (e. g. elliptic flow). In the present work, the correlation function between electrons from heavy-flavour hadron decays and light hadrons was measured in pp and Pb-Pb collisions (central and semi-central). Furthermore, in pp collisions the relative beauty contribution to the total cross section of electrons from heavy-flavour decays was estimated by comparing the measured correlation with Monte-Carlo templates.
The aim of this work was to characterize the vasorelaxant effect produced by Sida santaremnensis ethanol extract (Ssan-EtOH) in rat superior mesenteric artery. Ssan-EtOH showed neither acute toxicity ...nor hemolytic activity. In the other hand, it induced a concentration-dependent vasorelaxant effect on phenylephrine (10 mu mol/L) or KCI (80 mmol/L)-induced pre-contractions in endothelium-intact rat mesenteric artery rings, which attenuated after endothelium removal, without changes in maximum effect. N super(G)-nitro-L-arginine methyl ester (L-NAME) (100 mu mol/L), indomethacin (10 mu mol/L), atropine (1 nmol/L), KCI (20 mmol/L) or tetraethylammonium (3 mmol/L) pretreatment also induced a response attenuation. The endothelium-derived hyperpolarizing factor (EDHF) involvement in Ssan-EtOH-induced vasorelaxant response was verified after L-NAME (100 mu mol/L) plus Indomethacin (10 mu mol/L) plus tetraethylammonium (3 mmol/L) pretreatment and this vasorelaxation was decreased. In endothelium-denuded rings, Ssan-EtOH was able to inhibit phenylephrine-induced contractions (10 super(-9) to 10 super(-5) mol/L) in a concentration-dependent manner. In a nominally without Ca super(2+) depolarizing Tyrode solution, Ssan-EtOH inhibited CaCfc (10 super(-6) - 3 x 10 super(-2) mol/L)-induced contractions in a concentration-dependent manner. The endothelium-dependent Ssan-EtOH-induced vasorelaxant effect probably involves the participation of the nitric oxide synthase (NOS) and cyclooxygenases (COX) pathways, as well muscarinic receptors and EDHF and the endothelium-independent effect probably occurs by Ca super(2+) influx inhibition through voltage-operated calcium channels.
O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar métodos de resgate vegetativo para a produção de estacas (corte raso, anelamento total e semianelamento) de árvores adultas de cedro-australiano (Toona ciliata ...var. australis). Avaliou-se o número de brotos produzidos aos 60, 120 e 180 dias, bem como a correlação entre o diâmetro médio do tronco à altura do peito (DAP) e o número de brotos. Com as brotações resultantes de cada método, produziram-se estacas que foram submetidas à retirada e ao corte de folíolos, e então receberam a aplicação de ácido indolbutírico (AIB) (0 e 6.000 mg L-1). Avaliou-se a influência dos fatores método de resgate, tempo de coleta, número de folíolos das estacas e planta matriz, em presença e ausência de AIB, na sobrevivência e no enraizamento das estacas. Não houve correlação entre o DAP das árvores e o número de brotações. O corte raso aos 120 dias proporcionou a maior produção de brotos (15,31). Estacas obtidas do semianelamento apresentaram maior sobrevivência (57,8%) e enraizamento (55,5%). Estacas com dois pares de folíolos inteiros e tratadas com 6.000 mg L-1 de AIB apresentaram maior sobrevivência (65,5%) e enraizamento (56,7%). Houve grande variação na sobrevivência e no enraizamento entre plantas matrizes. O resgate vegetativo e a estaquia apresentam potencial para multiplicação clonal de árvores adultas de cedro-australiano.

Results for ..., ..., ... ...and ... in pp collisions at ..., measured with the ALICE detector at the LHC, are reported. Within the experimental uncertainties and ranges covered by our measurement, these ratios are independent of rapidity, transverse momentum and multiplicity for all measured energies. The results are compared to expectations from event generators, such as PYTHIA and HIJING/B, that are used to model the particle production in pp collisions. The energy dependence of ..., ..., ... and ..., reaching values compatible with unity for ..., complement the earlier ... measurement of ALICE. These dependencies can be described by exchanges with the Regge-trajectory intercept of ..., which are suppressed with increasing rapidity interval Δy. Any significant contribution of an exchange not suppressed at large Δy (reached at LHC energies) is disfavoured.

In this work we are studying the relative beauty to charm production in pp collisions at \sqrt{s} = 2.76 TeV, through correlations between electrons from heavy-flavour decay and charged hadrons, with ...the ALICE detector at the LHC. This study represents a baseline for the analysis in heavy-ion collisions where heavy flavour production is a powerful tool to study the Quark Gluon Plasma (QGP).
O arranjo espacial facilita o manejo e proporciona a eficiência da interceptação de luz pelas folhas, numa arquitetura da ramificação com ajuste ao índice de área foliar e incremento da rentabilidade ...da cultura. Objetivou-se com o presente trabalho, caracterizar o comportamento morfofisiológico da mamoneira cv. BRS Energia, consorciada com feijão caupi cv. Marataoã, sob diferentes arranjos espaciais. O experimento foi conduzido na Estação Experimental da Embrapa Algodão, em Missão Velha, CE, com adubação (55-40-20). O delineamento experimental foi o de blocos casualizados, em esquema fatorial 2³ x 3. A combinação dos fatores, dois espaçamentos entre as linhas (EL de 1,5 e 1,0 m) e entre as plantas de mamoneira (DM de 0,5 e 1,0 m) e duas densidades de feijão caupi (DC de 0,20 m, com duas, ou uma planta cova-1, a cada 0,20 m), constituiu os tratamentos primários, que foram distribuídos nas parcelas e os três tipos de ramificação (Ramo do racemo primário, do secundário e do terciário), distribuídos nas subparcelas, representaram o tratamento secundário. O crescimento da mamoneira se ajusta aos diferentes arranjos de espaçamentos compensados pela plasticidade morfológica da cultura, que apresenta ângulo de menor grau (54,30) nos ramos dos racemos primários e ângulos mais abertos para os ramos dos racemos secundários (62,17) e terciários (65,71). O EL e as DM e DC interagiram para a plasticidade da mamoneira em seu crescimento. O ângulo da ramificação aumenta com a ordem e a altura dos racemos na planta, influenciado pela densidade do cultivo.
