Squamous cell carcinoma is a non-melanoma skin cancer with a significant risk of mortality if not diagnosed promptly. A high index of suspicion is required, since it may mimic many benign conditions. ...Molluscum contagiosum is an innocuous viral infection which can also mimic a wide variety of other conditions. We report a case of squamous cell carcinoma on the anterior chest wall resembling a giant molluscum contagiosum, where the patient also had molluscum contagiosum at other sites. In addition, he developed herpes zoster of the left fifth thoracic dermatome. After surgical removal of the cancer, there was prompt subsidence of the molluscum contagiosum lesions without any specific treatment. This report highlights the importance of early biopsy in the diagnosis of squamous cell carcinoma. As the patient had no other conditions or therapy that could account for the immunosuppression, we hypothesize that the occurrance of molluscum contagiosum and zoster along with the squamous cell carcinoma indicates possible immunosuppression due to the carcinoma, though no metastatic spread could be detected.

The impact of different cropping systems and nutrient levels on carbon dioxide emission, soil temperature and soil moisture were studied. The experiment was carried out at Integrated Farming System ...Research Station, Karamana, during kharif, rabi and summer seasons of 2020-2021 in split plot design with five cropping systems as main plots (rice-rice-fallow(C1), rice-rice-sweet potato(C2), rice-sweet potato-amaranthus(C3), rice-(cassava+bush cowpea)-daincha(C4), rice-rice-daincha(C5) and three fertilizer doses as sub plots (F1:Full FYM+Full N+Full P+Full K(As per the recommendation of Kerala Agricultural University), F2:3/4 FYM+3/4 N+3/4 P+Full K and F3 :1/2 FYM+1/2 N+1/2 P + Full K) replicated thrice. Results showed that, during kharif, rabi and summer seasons, F1 (Full FYM+ full N, P, K) recorded the highest CO2 emission (321,331.4 and 322.33 ppm respectively) and the lowest CO2 emission (290.13, 291.06 and 289.20 ppm respectively) was recorded in F3 (½ FYM+ ½ N+ ½ P+ full K). Also, CO2 flux was linearly related with soil temperature.

In this context, a study was conducted to assess the impact of various rice based cropping systems on soil health.
Aims: To study the effect of different rice based cropping systems on soil enzyme activity and organic carbon.
Study Design: Randomized block design, Replications – 3.
Place and Duration of Study: Integrated Farming System Research Station (IFSRS) of Kerala Agricultural University located at Karamana, Thiruvananthapuram, during kharif, rabi and summer seasons of 2019-2020.
Methodology: The experiment consists of eleven cropping systems (T1 : rice - fallow - fallow, T2 : rice - rice - fallow, T3 : rice - daincha - cowpea, T4 : (rice + daincha) - rice - green gram, T5 : rice - cassava - amaranthus, T6 : rice - cassava - cowpea, T7 : rice - para grass - fodder cowpea, T8 : rice - fodder cowpea - fodder maize, T9 : rice - okra - culinary melon, T10 : rice - okra - yard long bean and T11 : rice - rice – amaranthus).
Results: Soil organic carbon and enzyme activities were found highest in the cropping system (rice+daincha) – rice – green gram during kharif. During rabi, soil organic carbon and activity of urease and acid phosphatase were highest in rice- daincha- cowpea while dehydrogenase activity was highest in rice- fodder cowpea – fodder maize. During summer, rice- okra – yard long bean, rice- cassava- amaranthus and rice- cassava – cowpea recorded the highest urease, acid phosphatase and dehydrogenase activity, respectively. The organic carbon was highest for the sequence rice – okra –culinary melon. The soil organic carbon and enzyme activities were least in rice- fallow-fallow cropping sequence during all the three cropping seasons.
Conclusion: Brown manuring, use of leguminous crops and cover crops in the crop sequence instead of leaving the land fallow and addition of organic sources of nutrition increase the soil organic carbon and enzymatic activity of microbes. The increase in soil organic carbon and activity of enzymes in soil owing to crop rotation of rice with arable crops relies on the crop species which are cultivated.
Continuous field monitoring of load carriage has proven difficult. An algorithm is proposed for estimating load from a single body-worn accelerometer. The accelerometer used is ADXL335. Accelerometer ...is interfaced with an Arduino Uno. Platform for the algorithm is Arduino Script and MATLAB. The algorithm has three different steps that characterizes torso movement dynamics. The three different steps are feature extraction, walking detection and multivariate regression. The system maps the extracted dynamics features to load estimates using a machine learning multivariate regression technique. The algorithm is applied, using leave-one-subject-out cross validation, to two field collections of soldiers and civilians walking with varying loads.
Fingerprint liveness detection has become a common technique in fingerprint authentication systems for security purposes. Although several hardware and software based approaches have been introduced ...so far to distinguish between live and fake fingerprints, finding effective features for detecting the fingerprint liveness still remain unsolved. In this paper, a liveness detection method is proposed, which combines discriminative features obtained from Speeded-Up Robust Features (SURF), Pyramid Histogram of Oriented Gradients (PHOG) and texture features from Gabor wavelets. Apart from using these feature extraction methods individually, this paper mainly focus on feature level fusion of suggested methods. Experiment is done with Support Vector Machine (SVM) and Deep Neural Network (DNN) classifiers over LivDet 2013 database. It is found that the classification accuracy of the proposed detection technique is higher for DNN as compared to SVM classifier for different feature level fusion techniques.

99mTc complexes were observed on substituting the carboxylic acid functionality in ligands I and II with the ethyl carboxylate groups (ligands III and IV). All the ligands formed
99mTc complexes in high yield. Whereas the complexes with ligands I and II were observed to be hydrophilic in nature and not extractable into CHCl
3, ligands III and IV resulted in neutral and lipophilic
99mTc complexes. The
99mTc complex with ligand III was not stable and on storage formed a hydrophilic and nonextractable species. The biodistribution of the complexes of ligands I and II showed that they cleared predominantly through the kidneys, whereas the complexes with ligands III and IV were excreted primarily through the hepatobiliary system. No significant brain uptake was observed with the
99mTc complexes with ligands III and IV despite their favorable properties of neutrality, lipophilicity, and conversion into a hydrophilic species. These ligands offer potential for use as bifunctional chelating agents.
