Different concentrations of Ce3+-doped TeO2-WO3-GeO2-Ce2O3 (TWGCe) glasses were prepared by melt-quenching method and characterized. Different spectroscopic and luminescence properties were evaluated using room temperature absorption and emission spectra. The absence of sharp X-ray diffraction peaks and the presence of broad band from 18° to 35° shows the amorphous phase of studied glasses. The Fourier transform infrared absorption spectra show the presence of various vibrational bonds. The optical properties of TWGCe glasses were studied by exciting the glass samples at 323 nm ultraviolet wavelength. The quenching in luminescence is noticed at × = 0.5 mol% along with a red-shift at higher Ce3+ concentrations. The decay time was found decrease with increase of concentration of Ce3+ ions. These glasses emit intense blue luminescence with CIE coordinates (0.161, 0.018) when excited at 323 nm radiation. These glasses are favourable as blue light sources in the design of phosphor-based white LEDs.
Majority of loads in use today are power electronics based non-linear devices. Despite being compact and providing low energy consumption these loads generate inherent harmonics. Harmonics have ...several adverse effects such as interference with the communication lines, incorrect meter readings, increased losses, increased heating of electrical and sensitive electronic equipment. Sophisticated power electronic converter based filters named as Shunt Active Power Filters (SAPF) are widely being employed that provide superior harmonic filtering capabilities. Basic objective of SAPF is to generate or absorb currents that compensate harmonic currents produced by non- linear loads. These currents should be opposite in phase but have equivalent magnitude as that of harmonic currents. As compared to Diode-Clamped and Flying capacitor multilevel inverters, Cascaded multilevel configuration is employed for many applications due to ease of control and simple structure. In this research paper, power quality in a three-phase three- wire system is improved by reducing source side current harmonics produced by a non-linear load. Initially a three-level Cascaded multilevel inverter based SAPF is developed and its performance is analyzed by using advanced Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) controller. DC link capacitor voltage and percentage Total Harmonic Distortion (%THD) in source currents is measured at PCC for balanced loading conditions and results are compared. In this paper, it is also proposed to incorporate multilevel inverter topology concepts by employing Five-Level and Seven-Level Cascaded Multilevel Inverters as VSI circuit for SAPF. Performance of these multilevel Shunt Active power filters is analyzed by ANFIS controller. Instantaneous Active-Reactive power theory is implemented to compute reference compensating currents for all Shunt Active power filter models. Phase Disposition type Pulse Width modulation is chosen for generating gate pulses for VSI circuits of all Cascaded multilevel inverter configurations. Three-level, Five-level and Seven-level Shunt active power filter models are developed and simulated using MATLAB/ Simulink and results are presented.
The present research explores the loyalty prediction problem of a brand through supervised learning algorithms of classifications: logistic regression, decision tree, support vector machine, bayes ...algorithm and K-nearest neighbors (KNN) algorithm. 265 customers’ FMCG loyalty sample data were taken and variables of the data set include; loyalty status, gender, family size, age, frequency of purchase, and FMCG purchase. Data have been analyzed with the help of Python packages such as Pandas (Data analysis), Numpy (Numerical calculation), Matplotlib (Visualization), and Sklearn (Modeling). Among the supervised classification algorithms, logistic regression has outperformed than other techniques.

A doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) applied to wind power generation driven by wind turbine is under study for low voltage ride-through application during system unbalance. Use of DFIG in wind ...turbine is widely spreading due to its control over DC voltage and active and reactive power. Conventional dq axis current control using voltage source converters for both the grid side and the rotor side of the DFIG are analyzed and simulated. An improved control and operation of DFIG system under unbalanced grid voltage conditions by coordinating the control of both the rotor side converter (RSC) and the grid side converter (GSC) is done in this thesis. Simulation and analysis of DFIG system with wind turbine using Fuzzy logic controller for RSC and GSC under unbalanced condition is presented in the positive synchronous reference frame. The common DC-link voltage is controlled by grid side converter and control of DFIG’s stator output active and reactive power is controlled by rotor side converter. The steady-state operation of the DFIG and its dynamic response to voltage sag resulting from a remote fault on the 120-kV system is shown in this thesis using controllers. Modeling of DFIG system under Fuzzy logic controller to control voltage and active-reactive powers is done using MATLAB/SIMULINK.

Different concentrations of Er3+ions doped TeO2-WO3-GeO2 transparent oxyfluoride glassy materials were fabricated by conventional melt quench method and analyzed through X-ray diffraction, Fourier Transform infrared, scanning electron microscope and energy dispersive X-ray, photoluminescence-excitation, visible emission and luminescence decay studies. Various physical, structural, spectroscopic and laser characteristic parameters were evaluated following the Judd-Ofelt theory. The studied glasses were capable of emitting intense green luminescence through (2H11/2,4S3/2) → 4I15/2 transitions. The emission of green luminescence was studied through down-conversion process at 377 nm excitation and up-conversion process at 980 nm excitation. The color coordinates were found to fall in the green region of chromaticity diagram and close to the European Broadcosting Union green illuminant. The evaluated branching ratio, stimulated emission cross-section, gain linewidth, figure of merit and the quantum efficiency corresponding to 4S3/2 → 4I15/2 transition suggests that the studied glasses find wide suitability to design green emitting solid state lighting devices.
The possibility of recycling mixed colour waste glass for manufacturing decorative architectural mortars, has been investigated. In mortars, the 0–33–66–100% of calcareous gravel volume has been ...replaced with recycled glass cullets, with no other inorganic addition. To mitigate the possible alkali–silica reaction, mixes with a hydrophobic admixture were also compared. The obtained results show that the replacement of calcareous gravel with glass cullets of similar grain size distribution permits to reduce the dosage of the superplasticizer admixture to obtain the same workability of fresh mortar; it does not affect significantly the mechanical performances, the water vapour permeability and the capillary water absorption but it reduces significantly the drying shrinkage deformation. The used recycled glass is classified as no reactive in terms of alkali–silica reaction neither in water nor in NaOH solution following the parameters of the current normative, even in the absence of the hydrophobic admixture. The hydrophobic admixture further delays the expansion trigger but not the speed of its propagation.

Many engineers and scientists utilize computers to solve the complex engineering problems through programming ...languages, such as C, C++, Java, Fortran, Python, Scilab, MATLAB, etc. Even though these languages are easy to implement in civil engineering discipline such as finite element analysis, structural dynamics, complex soil mechanics problems, design of reinforced concrete structures, steel structures etc., the students are not comfortable with these languages. Generally in Civil Engineering, analysis, interpretation of analysis and design are very important. To solve these problems best suitable languages are MATLAB, Scilab, Python, GNU OCTAVE and FORTRAN. Therefore it is necessary to introduce the programming languages in civil engineering discipline to aid students to solve complex problems by their tutors. In this paper by using singularity functions, the generalized shear force and bending moment diagrams of the beams with different loading conditions via medium MATLAB and GNU OCTAVE have been drawn.

The study is conducted to explore the occupational stress factors among engineering college faculty members. The primary data is collected from 120 faculty members who were selected by convenience sampling method. To explore occupational stress factors the collected data is analyzed with help of the principal component analysis and further identified the variance and reliability of the factors loaded. The results highlighted that workload, career growth, relationships and role ambiguity are the key factors of occupational stress.
