The article summarizes and analyzes data on 32 cases of acute intoxication varying in severity and caused by inhalation of sulfur-containing natural gas of Astrakhan gas deposit (SCNGAGD). The data ...were obtained in experimental poisoning of 120 Wistar rats with the gas. Pneumopathies (toxic pulmonary edema, pneumonitis, asthmatic bronchitis, alveolitis) appeared to play the central role among other syndromes of the intoxication by SCNGAGD. Mechanisms of the pneumopathies were traced to morphologic disorders of blood-lung barrier, compromised functions of lung surfactant, disturbances in lipid peroxidation and anaerobic glycolysis.
The concept of ion accelerator, based on space charge slow wave excitation in overlimiting high current relativistic electron beam (REB) subjected to temporal and spatial modulation has been ...theoretically and experimentally investigated. Analytical theoretical model and 2.5-D electromagnetic code has been elaborated and applied for study of physical phenomena of low frequency modulation of REB current due to repetitive relaxation of virtual cathode (VC) at plasma injection, ions acceleration in VC potential well, spatial modulation of REB in a periodic magnetic field, electric field topography of excited space charge slow wave, ions acceleration by this wave, and radial instability of ion beam in potential well of modulated REB. All of these problems have been explored experimentally at pulsed electron accelerator "Agat" producing tubular electron beam of parameters: energy up to 300 keV, current 5.4 kA, pulse duration 0.8 μs, mean dial11eter 32 mm. Two-staged ion accelerator gives C + ion beam of energy 1.5 MeV and current 1 A.
A study was made of the effect of a single intake of captopril on the neurohumoral mechanisms of the regulation of renal circulation in 25 patients with essential hypertension (EH). Captopril induced ...an increase of the effective renal blood flow (ERB) and of the effective renal plasma flow along with a considerable lowering of the renal vascular resistance. No relationship was found between these changes and the time course of changes in the activity of plasma renin, aldosterone and vasopressin concentration in blood plasma. The relationship was established between the changes in the ERB and the time course of changes in baroreceptor sensitivity that significantly increased in the majority of EH patients under the effect of captopril.
