Research has often overlooked the role of digital innovation in driving social transformation, especially in underserved rural areas, but the integration of digital technology is promoting rural ...high-quality development through the establishment of digital entrepreneurial ecosystems. Approaching from a complex systems perspective, this study contends that these ecosystems navigate multiple routes to enhance total factor productivity (TFP) in rural settings. Performing a configurational analysis of a sample of 60 demonstration counties for rural revitalization in China, this study identifies three primary pathways yielding high TFP: an investment-led model under government stewardship, a collaborative model steered by both government and social capital, and a talent-centric model governed by digital market forces. Conversely, this study also pinpoints a pathway that does not yield high TFP. Theoretical and practical insights are offered for researchers and practitioners exploring digital innovation and its implications for rural entrepreneurial ecosystems.
The environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance is a vital pursuit of firms’ strategy and has caused substantial influences on firms’ behavior and outcomes. Therefore, exploring how to ...facilitate the firms’ ESG performance is necessary. This paper examines the role of CEOs’ hometown identity in facilitating firm’s ESG performance. Based on a sample of Chinese listed firms during 2010–2018, we compare the ESG performance of firms with hometown CEO with that of firms without hometown CEO and find that CEOs’ hometown identity is associated with significantly higher ESG performance. The benchmark results still hold after instrumental variable regression, placebo test, propensity score matching, lagging, and altering the measurement of CEOs’ hometown identity. Additional analysis shows that CEOs’ hometown identity exerts a more prominent positive effect on ESG performance among firms with higher financing constraints and SOEs. Our findings reveal a bright side of CEOs’ hometown identity: it facilitates ESG performance. Therefore, this paper’s conclusion sheds new light on the bright side of CEOs’ hometown identity from the perspective of firms’ ESG performance and provides insights into how to improve ESG performance.
Purpose
With increasing complexity of construction projects and new construction processes and methods are adopted, more safety hazards are emerging at construction sites, requiring the application ...of the modern risk management methods. As an emerging technology, digital twin has already made valuable contributions to safety risk management in many fields. Therefore, exploring the application of digital twin technology in construction safety risk management is of great significance. The purpose of this study is to explore the current research status and application potential of digital twin technology in construction safety risk management.
Design/methodology/approach
This study followed a four-stage literature processing approach as outlined in the systematic literature review procedure guidelines. It then combined the quantitative analysis tools and qualitative analysis methods to organize and summarize the current research status of digital twin technology in the field of construction safety risk management, analyze the application of digital twin technology in construction safety risk management and identify future research trends.
Findings
The research findings indicate that the application of digital twin technology in the field of construction safety risk management is still in its early stages. Based on the results of the literature analysis, this paper summarizes five aspects of digital twin technology's application in construction safety risk management: real-time monitoring and early warning, safety risk prediction and assessment, accident simulation and emergency response, safety risk management decision support and safety training and education. It also proposes future research trends based on the current research challenges.
Originality/value
This study provides valuable references for the extended application of digital twin technology and offers a new perspective and approach for modern construction safety risk management. It contributes to the enhancement of the theoretical framework for construction safety risk management and the improvement of on-site construction safety.
With the aggravation of the global climate problem, various countries are gradually formulating relevant policies and targets for carbon emission reduction in the infrastructure industry. Some ...countries or cities may have the problem of insufficient investment in infrastructure construction or blind investment, so it is urgent to carry out related research on the efficiency of infrastructure investment. From the perspective of carbon emission constraints, this study takes Chinese cities as the research case, and uses the unexpected output ultra-efficiency SBM model to measure the infrastructure investment efficiency and total-factor productivity from 2010 to 2020, and analyzes the influencing factors of infrastructure investment efficiency. The study found that (1) the regions with high infrastructure investment efficiency have the following two characteristics: the first relates to the cities with high investment, high output and fewer carbon emissions, and these cities rank at the forefront of economic development and scientific and technological level in the country. The second relates to the cities with high investment, high output and large carbon emissions. These cities have a large urban scale, their industrial structure is dominated by the secondary and tertiary industries, and their high output level plays a benign leading role. (2) Cities with low infrastructure investment efficiency are mainly manifest a large input of some infrastructure resources, low output level, high carbon emissions, and insufficient scale efficiency. (3) Economic level, industrial structure and fiscal expenditure play a positive role in improving the efficiency of infrastructure investment, and the development strategy of policies also affects the infrastructure investment mode. Finally, there are recommendations for the sustainable and high-quality development of infrastructure investment in developing countries.
The Na2Ti3O7·2H2O nanobelts (Na-TNBs) with layered structure have been prepared by simple hydrothermal method. The carbon modified Na-TNBs (C/Na-TNBs) supercapacitor has been encapsulated by the ...flexible and stretching PDMS (poly-dimethylsiloxane), which has flexible and stretching property. The capacitance of the device can attain 459.71Fg−1 at scan rate of 25mV/S and energy density of 33.2Whkg−1 at power density 478Wkg−1 and power density of 2.13kWkg−1 at energy density 25.36Whkg−1. The retention of specific capacitance remains 74.3% after 6000 cycles at high current value of 35mA. Three supercapacitors in series can light 100 green color commercial light emitting diodes (LEDs) for about 10min. All these results indicate that the C/Na-TNBs nanomaterial could provide the potential application in high performance supercapacitor.

The effect of CO2 on the hydrogen permeation behaviour of carbon steel was investigated in a high temperature and high pressure hydrogen permeation device, through hydrogen permeation test, weight ...loss test, hydrogen content test, and SEM-EDS. The results showed that the peak value of the hydrogen permeation curves were almost the same with or without CO2, but the hydrogen permeation curve rose sharply, and then decreased gradually to a stabilized current value in H2S/CO2 environment, which was lower than in H2S environment. The corrosion rates and the amount of hydrogen of steel in H2S/CO2 environment were lower than in H2S environment. Therefore, it is considered that CO2 has an effect on the hydrogen permeation in H2S, mainly due to the change of corrosion products.
