In multiple cancers, heterozygosity is frequently lost for the tumor-suppressive long noncoding RNA (lncRNA). The expression, function, and molecular mechanisms of tumor suppressive lncRNA on ...chromosome 8p12 (TSLNC8) in breast cancer are still unknown.
QRT-PCR assays were carried out to evaluate the level of TSLNC8 in breast cancer tissues and cell lines. MTT, colony formation, and anchorage-independent growth assays were performed to investigate the effect of TSLNC8 on cell proliferation, and flow cytometry assays were conducted to detect cell percent of different phases. Luciferase reporter assays were used to confirm the interaction of different molecules.
TSLNC8 is significantly increased in breast cancer tissues and cell lines. Up-regulation of TSLNC8 reduces the proliferation capacity of breast cancer cells and the transition from G1 to S phase of the cell cycle. Further analysis indicated that TSLNC8 could directly bind to miR-214-3p. Up-regulation of miR-214-3p may attenuate the suppressive role of TSLNC8 on the proliferation capacity of breast cancer cells. Moreover, miR-214-3p was found to directly interact with the 3'-untranslated region (UTR) of Forkhead box P2 (FOXP2) in luciferase assays, suggesting that FOXP2 may be one of the downstream targets of miR-412-3p.
TSLNC8 was found to inhibit the proliferation and G1/S phase transition of breast cancer cells, an effect mediated by miR-214-3p/FOXP2 axis. Our study provides evidence that TSLNC8 may act as a suppressive lncRNA and represent a novel therapeutic target for breast cancer therapy.

Many real-world data sets for machine learning and data mining contain missing values and much previous research regards it as a problem and attempts to impute missing values before training and ...testing. In this paper, we study this issue in cost-sensitive learning that considers both test costs and misclassification costs. If some attributes (tests) are too expensive in obtaining their values, it would be more cost-effective to miss out their values, similar to skipping expensive and risky tests (missing values) in patient diagnosis (classification). That is, "missing is useful" as missing values actually reduces the total cost of tests and misclassifications and, therefore, it is not meaningful to impute their values. We discuss and compare several strategies that utilize only known values and that "missing is useful" for cost reduction in cost-sensitive decision tree learning.
The prevention of chemotherapy‐induced nausea and vomiting was one of the most challenging supportive care issues in oncology, especially to highly emetogenic chemotherapy (HEC). A total of 645 ...patients were randomized into fosaprepitant group (fosaprepitant/placebo 150 mg d1 in combination with granisetron and dexamethasone) or aprepitant group (aprepitant/placebo 125 mg d1; 80 mg d2‐d3 plus granisetron and dexamethasone).The primary endpoint was the percentage of patients who had a complete response (CR) over the entire treatment course (0–120 hr, overall phase OP). It was assessed by using a non‐inferiority model, with a non‐inferiority margin of 10%. The difference of the CR rate was compared between two groups with chi‐square analysis. Six hundred and twenty‐six patients were included in the per protocol analysis. The percentage of patients with a CR in the fosaprepitant group was not inferior to that in the aprepitant group (90.85% versus 94.17%, p = .1302) during OP. Whether the cisplatin‐based chemotherapy or not, the CR rate of the fosaprepitant group was not inferior to that of the aprepitant group. Both regimens were well tolerated. The most common adverse event was constipation. Fosaprepitant provided effective and well‐tolerated control of nausea and vomiting associated with HEC in Chinese patients.

We report the first measurement of the absolute branching fraction for Λ_{c}^{+}→Λe^{+}ν_{e}. This measurement is based on 567 pb^{-1} of e^{+}e^{-} annihilation data produced at sqrts=4.599 GeV, ...which is just above the Λ_{c}^{+}Λover ¯_{c}^{-} threshold. The data were collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII storage rings. The branching fraction is determined to be B(Λ_{c}^{+}→Λe^{+}ν_{e})=3.63±0.38(stat)±0.20(syst)%, representing a significant improvement in precision over the current indirect determination. As the branching fraction for Λ_{c}^{+}→Λe^{+}ν_{e} is the benchmark for those of other Λ_{c}^{+} semileptonic channels, our result provides a unique test of different theoretical models, which is the most stringent to date.

Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) in leaves and soil from typical e-waste polluted area in South China were investigated. The concentrations (ng/g dry weight) of PBDE congeners and summation ...operatorPBDE of five leaf samples were much lower than those in soil sample. The general patterns of summation operatordi-BDEs to summation operatorhepta-BDEs percentage distribution in leaf samples were similar to those of the soil sample, except the percentage of BDE209 which were lower than in soil. The percentages of summation operatordi-BDEs to summation operatorhepta-BDEs in soil were in the range of those in leaf samples. The results showed that the contamination of PBDEs in the leaf samples had good correlation with the soil around them.

A search for the decay $h_c$ → $π^0J/ψ$ is performed using a sample of hc produced in the reaction $e^+e^-$ → $π^+π^-h_c$. The data samples were collected with the BESIII detector at center-of-mass ...energies between 4.189 and 4.437 GeV, corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 11 fb-1. No significant signal is observed. Upper limits on the branching ratio $\mathcal{B}$($h_c$ →$π^oJ/ψ$)/$\mathcal{B}$($h_c$ →$γη_c$ →$γK^+K_-π^o$) and on the branching fraction $\mathcal{B}$($h_c$ →$π^oJ/ψ$) are determined to be 7.5 x 10-2 and 4.7 x 10-4 at 90% confidence level, respectively. The latter is derived from the former using the measured branching fraction of the normalization channel. This is the first determination of the upper limit of the decay $h_c$ → $π^0J/ψ$
