The increasing penetration of distributed power generation into the power system leads to a continuous evolution of grid interconnection requirements. In particular, active power control will play an ...important role both during grid faults (low-voltage ride-through capability and controlled current injection) and in normal conditions (reserve function and frequency regulation). The aim of this paper is to propose a flexible active power control based on a fast current controller and a reconfigurable reference current selector. Several strategies to select the current reference are studied and compared using experimental results that are obtained during an unsymmetrical voltage fault. The results of the analysis allow selection of the best reference current in every condition. The proposed methods facilitate multiple choices for fault ride through by simply changing the reference selection criteria.

Measurements
Articles since 2019 to 2020 published on Pubmed, Scielo and Google Scholar databases with the following MeSh terms (‘COVID-19’, ‘coronavirus’, ‘aging’, ‘older people’, ‘elderly’, ‘social isolation’ and ‘quarantine’) in English, Spanish or Portuguese were included. The studies not including people over 60 were excluded. Guidelines, recommendations, and update documents from different international organizations related to mental and physical activity were also analysed.
Results
41 documents have been included in this narrative review, involving a total of 20.069 individuals (58% women), from Asia, Europe and America. 31 articles included recommendations and 10 addressed the impact of social distancing on mental or physical health. The main outcomes reported were anxiety, depression, poor sleep quality and physical inactivity during the isolation period. Cognitive strategies and increasing physical activity levels using apps, online videos, telehealth, are the main international recommendations.
Conclusion
Mental and physical health in older people are negatively affected during the social distancing for COVID-19. Therefore, a multicomponent program with exercise and psychological strategies are highly recommended for this population during the confinement. Future investigations are necessary in this field.
This paper deals with a crucial aspect in the control of grid-connected power converters, i.e., the detection of the fundamental-frequency positive-sequence component of the utility voltage under ...unbalanced and distorted conditions. Specifically, it proposes a positive-sequence detector based on a new decoupled double synchronous reference frame phase-locked loop (DDSRF-PLL), which completely eliminates the detection errors of conventional synchronous reference frame PLL's (SRF-PLL). This is achieved by transforming both positive- and negative-sequence components of the utility voltage into the double SRF, from which a decoupling network is developed in order to cleanly extract and separate the positive- and negative-sequence components. The resultant DDSRF-PLL conducts then to a fast, precise, and robust positive-sequence voltage detection even under unbalanced and distorted grid conditions. The paper presents a detailed description and derivation of the proposed detection method, together with an extensive evaluation using simulation and experimental results from a digital signal processor-based laboratory prototype in order to verify and validate the excellent performance achieved by the DDSRF-PLL
In the last few years, restrictive grid codes have arisen to ensure the performance and stability of electrical networks, which experience a massive integration of renewable energy sources and ...distributed generation systems that are normally connected to the grid through electronic power converters. In these codes, the injection of positive- and negative-sequence current components becomes necessary for fulfilling, among others, the low-voltage ride-through requirements during balanced and unbalanced grid faults. However, the performance of classical dq current controllers, applied to power converters, under unbalanced grid-voltage conditions is highly deficient, due to the unavoidable appearance of current oscillations. This paper analyzes the performance of the double synchronous reference frame controller and improves its structure by adding a decoupling network for estimating and compensating the undesirable current oscillations. Experimental results will demonstrate the validity of the proposed decoupled DSRF controller.
We present a study of Hen 2-155 and Hen 2-161, two planetary nebulae which bear striking morphological similarities to other planetary nebulae known to host close-binary central stars. Both central ...stars are revealed to be photometric variables while spectroscopic observations confirm that Hen 2-155 is host to a double-eclipsing, post-common-envelope system with an orbital period of 3h33m making it one of the shortest period binary central stars known. The observations of Hen 2-161 are found to be consistent with a post-common-envelope binary of period ~1 day. A detailed model of the central star of Hen 2-155 is produced, showing the nebular progenitor to be a hot, post-AGB remnant of approximately 0.62 M⊙, consistent with the age of the nebula, and the secondary star to be an M dwarf whose radius is almost twice the expected zero age main sequence radius for its mass. In spite of the small numbers, all main-sequence companions, of planetary nebulae central stars, to have had their masses and radii constrained by both photometric and spectroscopic observations have also been found to display this “inflation”. The cause of the “inflation” is uncertain but is probably related to rapid accretion, immediately before the recent common-envelope phase, to which the star has not yet thermally adjusted. The chemical composition of both nebulae is also analysed, showing both to display elevated abundance discrepancy factors. This strengthens the link between elevated abundance discrepancy factors and close binarity in the nebular progenitor.

Modeling complex material failure with competing mechanisms is a difficult task that often leads to mathematical and numerical challenges. This work contributes to the study of localized failure mechanisms by means of phase fields in a variational framework: in addition to the treatment of brittle and ductile fracture, done in previous work, we consider the case of shear band formation followed by ductile fracture. To achieve this, a new degradation function is introduced, which distinguishes between two successive failure mechanisms: (i) plastic strain localization and (ii) ductile fracture. Specifically, the onset of elastic damage is delayed to allow for the formation of shear bands driven by plastic deformations, thus accounting for the mechanisms that precede the coalescence of voids and microcracks into macroscopic ductile fractures. Once a critical degradation value has been reached, a phase-field model is introduced to capture the (regularized) kinematics of macroscopic cracks. To tackle the issue of potentially high computational cost, we propose a parallel implementation of the phase-field approach based on an iterative algorithm. The algorithm was implemented within the Alya system, a high performance computational mechanics code. Several examples show the capabilities of our implementation. We pay special attention to the ability to capture different failure mechanisms.

Neuronal synchronization is important for communication between brain regions and plays a key role in learning. However, changes in connectivity can lead to hyper-synchronized states related to epileptic seizures that occur intermittently with asynchronous states. The activity-regulated cytoskeleton-associated protein (ARC) is related to synaptic alterations which can lead to epilepsy. Induction of status epilepticus in rodent models causes the appearance of intense ARC immunoreactive neurons (IAINs), which present a higher number of connections and conductance intensity than non-IAINs. This alteration might contribute to abnormal epileptic seizure activity. In this work, we investigated how IAINs connectivity influences the firing pattern and synchronization in neural networks. Firstly, we showed the appearance of synchronized burst patterns due to the emergence of IAINs. Second, we described how the increase of IAINs connectivity favors the appearance of intermittent up and down activities associated with synchronous bursts and asynchronous spikes, respectively. Once the intermittent activity was properly characterized, we applied the optogenetics control of the high synchronous activities in the intermittent regime. To do this, we considered that 1% of neurons were transfected and became photosensitive. We observed that optogenetics methods to control synchronized burst patterns are effective when IAINs are chosen as photosensitive, but not effective in non-IAINs. Therefore, our analyses suggest that IAINs play a pivotal role in both the generation and suppression of highly synchronized activities.
Clinical indications for allergen immunotherapy (AIT) in respiratory and Hymenoptera venom allergy are well established; however, clinical contraindications to AIT are not always well documented. ...There are some discrepancies when classifying clinical contraindications for different forms of AIT as ‘absolute’ or ‘relative’. EAACI Task Force on ‘Contraindications to AIT’ was created to evaluate and review current literature on clinical contraindications, and to update recommendations for both sublingual and subcutaneous AIT for respiratory and venom immunotherapy. An extensive review of the literature was performed on the use of AIT in asthma, autoimmune disorders, malignant neoplasias, cardiovascular diseases, acquired immunodeficiencies and other chronic diseases (including mental disorders), in patients treated with β‐blockers, ACE inhibitors or monoamine oxidase inhibitors, in children under 5 years of age, during pregnancy and in patients with poor compliance. Each topic was addressed by the following three questions: (1) Are there any negative effects of AIT on this concomitant condition/disease? (2) Are more frequent or more severe AIT‐related side‐effects expected? and (3) Is AIT expected to be less efficacious? The evidence, for the evaluation of these clinical conditions as contraindications, was limited, and most of the conclusions were based on case reports. Based on an extended literature research, recommendations for each medical condition assessed are provided. The final decision on the administration of AIT should be based on individual evaluation of any medical condition and a risk/benefit assessment for each patient.
Over half of new therapeutic approaches fail in clinical trials due to a lack of target validation. As such, the development of new methods to improve and accelerate the identification of cellular ...targets, broadly known as target ID, remains a fundamental goal in drug discovery. While advances in sequencing and mass spectrometry technologies have revolutionized drug target ID in recent decades, the corresponding chemical-based approaches have not changed in over 50 y. Consigned to outdated stoichiometric activation modes, modern target ID campaigns are regularly confounded by poor signal-to-noise resulting from limited receptor occupancy and low crosslinking yields, especially when targeting low abundance membrane proteins or multiple protein target engagement. Here, we describe a broadly general platform for photocatalytic small molecule target ID, which is founded upon the catalytic amplification of target-tag crosslinking through the continuous generation of high-energy carbene intermediates via visible light-mediated Dexter energy transfer. By decoupling the reactive warhead tag from the small molecule ligand, catalytic signal amplification results in unprecedented levels of target enrichment, enabling the quantitative target and off target ID of several drugs including (+)-JQ1, paclitaxel (Taxol), dasatinib (Sprycel), as well as two G-protein-coupled receptors-ADORA2A and GPR40.
