We report recent STAR results on searching for the Chiral Magnetic Effect via measurements of γ correlation and κK parameter for charged hadrons and identified particle pairs (ππ, pK, πK, pp, pπ) in ...Au+Au collisions at 200 GeV. We compare the κK parameters with expectations from the AMPT simulations. Sizable γ correlations for charged hadrons, using Time Projection Chamber event plane, in p+Au and d+Au 200 GeV have been observed, and the correlations in these small systems are reduced to near zero when the event planes from forward detectors are used. We will also present our results on the Chiral Magnetic Wave searches from p+Au collisions at 200 GeV.

•Covalent chemistry affects the geometric and electronic structure of functionalized graphene.•Addition chemistry leads to σ-bonds to graphene surfaces and removes C-atoms from ...conjugation.•Hexahapto-metal bond preserves the graphitic band structure-constructive rehybridization.
We consider the covalent chemistry of the carbon allotropes with an emphasis on the newest member—graphene. We focus on the effect of such chemistry on the geometric and electronic structure of the functionalized materials and the way in which the conjugation is modified by such processes. We conclude that there are two limiting cases: (a) Conventional addition chemistry leading to the formation of σ-bonds to the graphitic surface in which there is full rehybridization of the derivatized carbon atoms from sp2 to sp3; thus these carbon atoms are effectively removed from conjugation and from the electronic band structure (referred to as destructive rehybridization). (b) Covalent chemisorption with formation of an organometallic hexahapto-metal bond that largely preserves the graphitic band structure (constructive rehybridization) and accompanies the formation of bis-hexahapto-metal bonds such as those in (η6-SWNT)Cr(η6-SWNT) which serve to interconnect adjacent graphitic surfaces and significantly reduces the internanotube junction resistance in SWNT networks. The formation of η2 di-hapto bonds represent an intermediate case of covalent chemistry and is known to be important in carbon nanotubes and particularly the fullerenes but this situation has been treated in detail in previous publications.
We present a determination of the gluon polarisation Delta g/g in the nucleon, based on the longitudinal double-spin asymmetry of DIS events with Q(2) > 1 (GeV/c)(2) including a pair of large ...transverse-momentum hadrons in the final state. The data were obtained by the COMPASS experiment at CERN using a 160 GeV/c polarised muon beam scattering off a polarised (LiD)-Li-6 target. The gluon polarisation is evaluated by a Neural Network approach for three intervals of the gluon momentum fraction x(g) covering the range 0.04 < x(g) < 0.27. The values obtained at leading order in QCD do not show any significant dependence on x(g). Their average is Delta g/g = 0.125 +/- 0.060 (stat.) +/- 0.063 (syst.) at average x(g) = 0.09 and a scale of mu(2) = 3 (GeV/c)(2).
A search for the exclusive production of the Z(c)(+/-)(3900) hadron by virtual photons has been performed in the channel Z(c)(+/-)(3900). J/Psi pi(+/-). The data cover the range from 7GeV to 19GeV in ...the centre-of- mass energy of the photon-nucleon system. The full set of the COMPASS data set collected with a muon beam between 2002 and 2011 has been used. An upper limit for the ratio BR(Z(c)(+/-)(3900)-> J/Psi pi(+/-)) x sigma(gamma N) -> Z(c)(+/-)(3900) N/sigma gamma N -> J/Psi N 3.7 x10(-3) has been established at the confidence level of90%.

The Review summarizes much of particle physics and cosmology. Using data from previous editions, plus 2,873 new measurements from 758 papers, we list, evaluate, and average measured properties of ...gauge bosons and the recently discovered Higgs boson, leptons, quarks, mesons, and baryons. We summarize searches for hypothetical particles such as supersymmetric particles, heavy bosons, axions, dark photons, etc. Particle properties and search limits are listed in Summary Tables. We give numerous tables, figures, formulae, and reviews of topics such as Higgs Boson Physics, Supersymmetry, Grand Unified Theories, Neutrino Mixing, Dark Energy, Dark Matter, Cosmology, Particle Detectors, Colliders, Probability and Statistics. Here, among the 118 reviews are many that are new or heavily revised, including a new review on Neutrinos in Cosmology.
